1. not far from some of the excuses you see for spelling on this forum to be honest
 2.
Its been a while since I used it, but I think it resembles a patch that was on my old Zoom multi fx. Alien something or other. It has been a while since I used it because I broke it, but I think it was similar to that. It sounds a lot like some sort of bit crusher effect as well. Experiment a bit I say. Zach
plus the one sounds like a zoom step wah to me - it was on most of their rack units and some of their multi-fx pedals iirc.
 3. that's a very low price. very low...
 4. well, i've given up and drilled the head of the screw out. sadly i can't see anything obviously wrong with the pcb - no scorches or obvious mess. gonna leave it open in the vain hope that it dries out during the day, and then have a proper look tonight after some work on the bathroom. hope i can resurrect it...
 5.
These pedals look awesome - I think I'm going to get one even though it will mean getting a bigger pedal board (I have no room left on mine).
know how you feel ! do let us know how you get on with the enigma if you do get one.
 6.
She told me that she'd played on the RHCP albums.
that even got girlfren laughing !
 7.
That's put a whole new slant on things. He's certainly no John Entwistle
how many dancing typists do you know ?
 8. bust them ker-ayzee moves daddy-o.
 9. i'm in max...email coming.
 10.
Well it's obviously not BAD but it looks bad! Could look better! It's a lottery really :-p
true...but warwick make a big thing about the wood they use in construction. i'd hope that would extend to the cosmetic as well as sonic considerations. spesh as i'm thinking of a custom fortress as a treat for my 40th !!
 11.
After posting at Warwick, it seems it really may be tiger stripe ebony!!!! And check this out: the bass I got is the on they photographed for the website: http://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_corvette_standard_fl_02.htm Other Warwicks with the same wood fingerboard don't show any such stains in their pictures though!
very true...my rockbass fortress has a tigerstripe fretboard and it's way prettier than the one on fenderhead's full-blown warwick !
 12.
I often shove an empty pack of 'Nicotinel' in there at gigs - gets a knowing laugh from some and bemusement from many!!
13.
I've arranged for exchange, they didn't cause any problems, yet at least, waiting for courier pickup details...
well, that's good news, but you'd think they'd have looked at the wood and realised that it wasn't the prettiest bit of lumber they could have used.
 14. i had a 15mm overbite when i started playing bass. that's pretty dam goofy
 15. and one last proce drop before it goes to ebay
 16.
pointless discussion. He's the best bassist for RHCP, you cant go beyond that, too subjective.
plus the one. total waste of time to ask who's 'best'
 17.
... and those Tyneside Precisions! Out on a Saturday night in all weathers with no covers!
all fur coat and nay knickers ? must be a darras hall precision
 18. well i tried mrcrow's suggestion, but only succeeded in knocking a corner off the offending screw. now what ? drill it out or just snap the bassplate off ? i'm thinking it might be a better option to just buy a new pedal - there's no guarantee that i can get it working properly anyway.
 19. can i add something not related to bass ? please stop making the kick drum sound like an alesis drum machine.
 20. 2 months on a DB are you're doing gigs ? wow...good going !
 21.
If my A-level physics from last year is right, then due to a quirk of physics I can't quite remember, possibly called the lorentz force, a conductive object, i.e. metal, moving through a magnetic field will feel a dampening force due to the conservation of electricity. This will happen with the metal bass strings as they vibrate through the magnetic field of the pickups, which is why I've heard some people say your pickups shouldn't be too close to the strings.
yup - you're totally correct - had that problem with my musicman sabre. but that's down to a bad set-up, nothing to do with the intrinsic properties of the instrument itself.
 22. forgive me if i'm wrong, but what does sustain have to do with pickups ? surely sustain comes from the mechanical aspects of the bass - pickups just amplify what's there already. good pickups on a bass that sustains like a wet washing line will still sound like a wet washing line - just a hi-fi washing line !
