1. got to swing i with a plus the one on the jack casady... amazing bass.
2. i'm growing to like the sound of the jack casady bass with the flats now. i'll still try them on the sabre if i grow tired of them tho.
3. maybe he's trying to tell us it's a five string with a low B cos it's certainly missing a 'c'
4.
As this thread (perhaps) nears its end, I'd like to spread some happy thoughts. Here's a picture of a particularly pretty sunflower arrangement:
the one on the left is called phillip
5.
Attitudinally I usually fall into the third group above - Acceptance - but I have a specific exclusion. The world is not big enough to accomodate the attempted suppression of either self-expression or opinion.
/stands, ovates/
6. whereabouts are you based ?
7.
...is secondary to what he's saying/communicating through the music. take technique, and that he's playing a bass out of the picture, and think of him as a composer
the music says very little to me.
8.
How about this side to his playing then??
a little more interesting, the guitar gives it some context, but to my ears it's just bolted on. the piece sounds like it was written for cello and guitar...i don't see what playing it on an ebow-ed fretless adds, apart from novelty value. edit: although, having played a fretless with an ebow on a number of occasion i will say it takes some skill... but that's not going to make me listen to the music. i don't get off on listening to 'wow what a player' music for the technical ability of the players if the music doesn't get me as a whole, and then i'm listening to the music, and not the player...if that makes sense ?
9. robert smith and steve severin had these when they played with the banshees flanger on a stick !
10.
as technically impressive as it is, doesn't do anything for me and I just want to tell him to leave his fecking tuning pegs alone for more than a few seconds.
plus the one for solo fretless, i'd much rather listen to our very own spoombung
11. i had an HH 'bass machine' 1x15 cab for years...lovely sound. i only got rid of it as girlfren objected to it being a side table in the front room. i've played through many, many HH's over the years and they've always sounded good.
12. there's that whole 'schoolgirl on stage at darlington arts centre' thing... but that was a long time ago, and i don't do that kind of thing any more.
13.
WOW, what a classic. Are you sure you want to sell it?
plus the one. that's a beautiful bass. i keep thinking i should sell my sabre, but my better half (and better judgement !) tells me no - on the basis i'd miss it if it were gone.
14. put a switch in - it'll cover the hole and you can call it what you like. "the bass isn't really cutting through" "hang on, i'll switch the resonance divider parameter loading" /click/ "cool - that sounds much better"
15.
That bloke out of Muse has a lot to answer for.
some of us started on distorted bass way earlier than muse my bloody valentine sold me on it !
16. hats off to you kev - that's a lovely piece of music. i've been working on some less "orthodox" bass playing recently using percussive sounds and a bit of looping, but that knocks my efforts into a very cocked hat. oh -sweet little HH too !
17. i love distorted bass if you look at all the effects i've owned in the last 20 or so years, the vast majority have been overdrives or distortions. my current faves are a wounded paw battering ram or a owen bass gremlin.

19. i have to agree and say that wear looks very suspect.
20.
I do like to listen to albums as albums, regardless of storage format. I still think of music in terms of albums - good album, bad album, skip that one, etc. I suppose it's because I'm old though.
plus the one i never shuffle music. to me an album's a whole - the musicians arranged it a certain way, and that's the way i like to hear it.

SOLD

bump for price drop
22. i bought some pyramid golds for my epiphone jack casady, and to be honest i prefer the sound of it with roundwounds. i'm looking at my musicman sabre as a possible candidate for the flatties. anyone out there using flatties with a MM ? tbh i thought musicmans were all about twang
