i've got a santa ana (i.e. no-name) acoustic bass that i'd love to give to a college (and help out a bass chatter with !), but i'm in tottenham, north london.
i can probrably dig our some other bits and pieces too.
anyway we can hook up somehow ?

pretty much bang on £150 from dolphin, dv247 etc
i've used the line 6 xt on guitar and it's much more than you'd need and sounds good.
kevin shields was at a gig i played a year or two back - the whole place was 'look...it's kev shields'...but i just about managed to keep my cool...
until i saw him nodding his head to one of our noise breakdowns...then i lost if for a bit.
i wouldn't have dared to speak to him.
