1. Seriously, £160 for this bass is an absolute steal. You're getting a hell of a lot of bang and bass for your buck. Great tone, great weight, lovely neck, comfortable to wear and play, and a great looker; over all it punches well above its weight. You'd be hard pressed to find a better bass at a nicer price.
2. I really wish I could take this off your hands. Sandbergs are my new favourite things in the bass world. Truly fantastic basses in every sense.
3. Just picked up James' awesome Kopo Lina fretless. Great guy to deal with; easy going, great communications and a kick ass player to boot. Highly recommended to anyone buying or selling. Cheers James, nice to meet you. Just been jamming on the Kopo on the train; It's freaking awesome
4. Alim bought a Warwick Corvette $$ from me and I've nothing but praise for him. He was straight up, once we agreed on price made instant payment and was always good with communications. Highly recommended! Cheers Ali, enjoy the bass
5. Hey guys, thanks for all the suggestions! Looks like I've got me a lot more strings to try out. What's interesting is that none of the stings I've tried already have come as recommendations from people on here. So I've definitely got some good ideas. So, what's the best place to get strings online? Evilbay seems to be cropping up a lot?!
6. I forgot to mention, the bass also comes with Schaler locking strap buttons, original buttons can be provided if preferred
7. Hell yeah! That's around my birthday so I might have some birthday cash burning a hole in my pocket Count me in
8. Hi all, my apologies if this has already been covered (I'm quite sure it has somewhere, but I didn't see anything when I searched just now), but lately I've been paying more attention to the strings I'm using. I used to be a cheap string fanatic; I'd stick em on, use them until the they went dead (which was promptly on cheap strings) then change them for another set. Aside from the waste changing strings so frequently produces, I've been thinking it's probably more cost effective to spend extra cash on a decent set which will last longer. Having read countless web pages, forum posts and reviews on strings I'm none the wiser on which strings to get, but if I'm going to spend upwards of £30 on a set, I'd like them to be what I'm after. So this is where the lovely BC community come in - I need your suggestions! Here's the essentials: My preferred tone: bass heavy, almost sub like (lots of classic bass warmth) with a crisp definition on the notes Style: My current band plays hard progressive rock with some fast passages and complex lines. I've also been dabbling in slap, so I want a string that has a nice bit of clarity and definition ('zing?'). So far, I've tried: Steel roundwounds = good but too harsh on the trebles and noisy. Halfwound or groundwounds = love them both in feel and tone, but where to get them?! Flatwounds = only tried them on fretless basses - how do they sound on fretted basses? So, the question is... What are your string recommendations for bass heavy, but defined notes and where do you get them from without breaking the bank? A lot of people seem to like La Bella Deep Talkin' flatwounds and they sound perfect for my needs but here in the UK they're mighty pricey, does anyone know of a store or online shop that sells them at a good price? (Also, I've read some people find them 'grabby' when sliding, anyone else had this problem?) Sorry, this was meant to be a quick post and it's turned out more complicated than I expected....a bit like finding the right strings.... Any suggestions/help greatly appreciated
9. Hi all, In anticipation of the collection of my new fretless bass this weekend, I'd like to offer up this little gem for sale or trade. Here's the Squier blurb: The no-pickguard, Three-color Sunburst finish is a classic, and the lightweight agathis body is home to a pair of single-coil Duncan Designed™ Jazz Bass pickups. The special one-piece maple neck has a fretless Ebonol fingerboard with white celluloid lines that let you know where you’re at! Other features include a four-saddle chrome bridge, and chrome hardware and machine heads. A nice bass which does what it says on the tin without too many bells or whistles. The bass is like new in terms of condition aside from a light bit of wear on the fingerboard where it came from the shop with round wounds (it was the last one, so had been played a bit with the roundwounds on). I changed the strings to a set of flatwounds which give a much better fretless tone and don't mark the fingerboard. No other knocks, bumps or dings to speak of. Not much else to say except it's a great little player, lovely fast neck with a nice light body and bags of mwaaah. In terms of trades, I'm open to anything of similar value that's not a jazz bass, or alternatively I'll sell for £180 delivered including a deluxe gig bag (bass also come with Schaler locking strap buttons, but originals can be provided if preferred). More pics can be found here: http://s642.photobucket.com/albums/uu141/o...%20Jazz%20Bass/
10. Bump for some more pictures showing the wear on the finish. Open to reasonable offers... this needs to go
11. These Human Base basses are amazing!! Best of luck with the sale; sadly it's well out of my price range.
12. Yeah, I just get the impression that bass would sound as special as it looks Desperately trying to shift my Warwick at the moment so I can afford to buy this!
13. GAS attack bump! Will accept £575 for this collected.....any takers?
14.
hey dude.. it really is a stunner i was tempted, but im afraid i'm not a warwick fan thanks for the offer though J (edited trade options)
Hehe, yeah the Warwicks are a bit like Marmite. If I can sell it to raise the funds I'll buy this beauty off you, but the way Warwicks are going at the moment (especially the Corvette $$) I doubt I'll be able to shift it, without dropping the price painfully low. Shame is I've got chronic GAS for this... just love it
15. Trade for a Warwick Corvette $$ and cash adjustment your way?
16.
I'll have to add Sandberg to my list, certainly one I hear good things about. I'm afraid I'm going to be a little specific on my trades. Cash-wise, I'm only going to sell this to buy a Precision or Jazz, so I guess my mind's a little made up - unless someone has something they know I can't say no to, like a BC Rich Eagle. I love those like Garfield loves lasagne.
Hehe, yeah you should give the Sandbergs a go; I thought they'd be nice before I got one, but now I have one It's cemented my view of Sandbergs well and truly - consider them my lasagne Anyway, best of luck with the sale - if you still have this in 2 weeks, I just might be buying.
17. I'm not really a fretless player, but that I like!! Are you only interested in trades for 5 string basses? I have a 4 string Warwick Corvette $$ I'd gladly trade for that beauty! If I had the cash, I'd buy but regrettably funds are down low...
18. Hi Hans, greetings from Leeds. Definitely a reasonable price for such a beautiful bass; I used to have a Lakland Skyline 44-02 DLX and it was a real beauty (same finish as yours); I long to own a real US made Lakland. Sadly, I have no money hence the question about a trade. Best of luck with selling them Hans
