FS Ibanez ATK300 Sunburst 4 string bass
chuck_stones replied to LloydyG10's topic in Basses For Sale
Absolutely cracking basses for the price. I had the 400 version of this, but sold it ages back to fund another purchase; something I always regretted. If I weren't selling some items myself to raise funds for a relocation, I'd seriously consider buying it. You'd be hard pushed to find a bass with better bang for the buck. Rock solid build, great tonal palette and lovely to play. If you're looking for a cheap Stingray type bass, this would stand you in good stead. -
Pleased to hear you're still enjoying it - great bass that deserves to be played
Seriously Molan, I didn't know a bass could make me sound so good You're right, it definitely deserves to be played. I genuinely can't thank you enough for passing it on to me. If I ever buy another bass, there's an excellent chance that it'll be a Performance Guitar. -

Hi all, Due to a lean month work-wise, I need to shift some gear pronto, so priced to sell is my gorgeous and much beloved Tanglewood Baron Bass. It's a 4 string, neck through design with a slimline contoured body. Top notch Gotoh hardware throughout and upgraded with a John East U-Retro Deluxe pre-amp. This is a limited edition bass (one of approx 120), bought in around 1996. Features: - Slimline contoured body of solid maple wings - 5-piece laminate through neck of wenge and maple with a rosewood fretboard and brass nut. - Top quality gold-plated Gotoh hardware (tuners, brass bridge and straplocks). - Currently equipped with EMG P/J pickups (neck & bridge) and recently fitted with copper shielding in the electronics and pickup cavities & a John East U-Retro 4 Deluxe pre-amp with gold knobs (I will include the original pre-amp with the sale). All in all a stunning package. The neck is slim and fast (similar to a Jazz in profile, but narrower width ways like a Spector) and the frets and board are in excellent condition. Given its age, the bass is in very good condition with just a few knocks to the lacquer (see pics); overall I'd give the condition a 9/10. Also Included: As I really need to shift this bass, for the buyer I'll include: - Red & black DSL deluxe padded strap (as seen in the pictures) - Fusion F1 gig bag (GAK are selling these for £125). Shipping: I'm happy to ship anywhere using Interparcel, however the buyer must cover the cost of delivery. I'm happy for the bass to be collected from Tunbridge Wells in Kent, or alternatively I may be able to deliver within reason. There's not much else to say other than this is a beast of a bass and plays like a dream, with the added East pre-amp the tonal palette is sublime and suitable for just about any style of music from Reggae, Funk and Soul, Hard Rock through to Metal. Price: I'm asking for [s]£400[/s] £350 for the whole lot, or alternatively [s]£350[/s] £300 for just the bass. It breaks my heart to have to part with her, so for whoever buys this beauty, if you would offer me first refusal should you ever decide to sell it, that would be greatly appreciated. If you want to know anything else, please get in touch!
What's the weight on that kidney? Have you made a purchase then, Chuck?
Oh yes indeed. It's quite possible that I've found THE most perfect bass I've ever laid my hands on. It's certainly cured any and all GAS attacks I'd had previously and everything about it suits me perfectly. Currently taking pride of place in my collection, and although I promised myself I'd save it for recording only, it's already been out for a couple of handfuls of gigs and never fails to perform. Not to mention the compliments afterwards -
dude if i had what i paid /traded this for id have it back tomorrow but no funds as of yet , try keep it dude . doubt wether youll get a euro like this without spendinfg out for a doug wimbush one. people this bass is the nuts ... (i just got a sei4 to replace it), thats the only reason i moved it on.
Hey dude, yeah trust me I have no desire to sell it whatsoever. I figure a Spector Euro this age, in this condition with these specs and with these looks (she really is a stunner in the flesh), it's a keeper for sure. I'm doing my best to find another way to pay the bills without selling, but I guess my current asking price is putting people off anyway

Up for very reluctant sale is my absolutely gorgeous, recently acquired Spector Euro 4, 3-piece through neck with solid flamed maple wings, solid brass bridge and a 1.5" width nut (like the Doug Wimbish signature model). According to PJ at Spector this is a very early Euro model, circa 2003 - back when they had solid figured maple wings. It's been upgraded with some brass knobs to replace the stock knobs. Looks and sounds amazing and plays beautifully. Up for sale as my housemate has decided to run off leaving me with a massive gas and electricity bill (she was supposed to be paying, but just took the money from me and left the bill - the joys of shared houses!). Now I need to pay it pronto before I end up with a ccj. I'd like to get back what this cost me as it's in near mint condition and is a remarkable example of a top quality Euro Spector, but that might be unrealistic. I'm going to price this at [s]£1100[/s] £1000, but please PM with reasonable offers if I'm way off the mark price wise. Unless I fall ass backwards into a miracle, this has to go to save my ass, so try me with offers! Comes with deluxe padded gig bag. Pics:

Here you go; as promised some sound clips of the Spector in action. Please forgive the very shoddy playing though, I didn't have much time to play around P&J pup's, finger style, flat tone: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8800648/Spector_PJ...r_Flat_Tone.mp3 P&J pup's, finger style, bass boosted: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8800648/Spector_PJ..._Bass_Boost.mp3 P pup solo'd, finger style, bass boosted: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8800648/Spector_P_..._Bass_Boost.mp3 P&J pup's, slap style, bass boosted: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8800648/Spector_PJ..._Bass_Boost.mp3 P&J pup's, slap style, flat tone: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8800648/Spector_PJ...p_Flat_Tone.mp3 P&J pup's, slap style, both tone boosted: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8800648/Spector_PJ..._Tone_Boost.mp3
And some sound samples while you're at it mate
Will do I just got a M-Audio USB interface for my computer, so once I've figured out how to use it, I'll record some licks and post them up
Awesome. Chuck, get your avatar updated!
Damn straight!! I've got some gigs coming up, so hopefully I'll get a decent pic of me rocking with the Spector

As it says in the title, up for grabs is my EHX Q-Tron Plus with built-in effects loop. In good condition with virtually no wear (it was mint until my last jam when I managed to scratch across the logo when it was in the pocket of my gig bag). Everything works well, all pots are clean and clear from crackle. It comes with a mains power adapter. This is also one of the old chassis models. More information on the Q-Tron Plus here. If you don't know what a Q-Tron is, just think of Bootsy's bass from Parliament and Funkadelic and you'll know exactly what it is. That funky, quacky, squelchy bass sound.......that was a Q-Tron. The Q-Tron plus add's the effects loop for more funky craziness. There's more controls and options on this thing than you can shake a stick at for some mad effects. Why am I selling this piece of awesomeness? Well, sadly it just doesn't get the use it should and frankly, I need the cashish. These retail at about £105, so grab yourself a deal at £85 delivered (to the UK). Attached is a pic of the model in question, but not of my actual unit. I'll take some proper pics when I get the, hopefully tonight. Any questions, feel free to ask
Ive just noticed the middle laminate in the neck is flamed, NICE!!!! i dont think ive seen that before, probably very usual though
Yeah, it runs right the way up from top to tail. A rather beautiful addition which reminds me of some of the Ritter basses I've seen, like the last one on this page
