Have a second look - it's not as ugly as you first thought.

Just be aware there is an element of BS in the ad - ie: these basses didn’t come fitted with flat wound strings as stock and sunburst was a common finish. Well worth asking if there is a manufacture date pencilled on the neck butt underneath where the truss rod screw is accessed. As ever have a look here for your JV questions.... http://www.21frets.com

My JV is much slimmer than the equivalent P bass. It’s a nice manageable neck not clubby or fat at all. The JV P Bass had a good neck too of course however if you are a fan of Jazz basses you can’t go wrong with the JV.

They are very nice instruments and are becoming more and more collectible as vintage Fender prices become unattainable for us mere mortals. The longest serving basses I own are both JVs - a Precision and a Jazz and I have not found a Jazz as good as my JV Squier of any brand or age. Keep in mind I had an early 80’s US Jazz when I bought it as a ‘spare’ and immediately decided the genuine Fender had to go! That was 34 years ago. One thing about the bass on eBay is that it is a later one (I’m unsure where the ‘only 16 sunburst models made’ claim in the ad comes from either, as ever refer to the ‘21frets’ website for all things JV). The bass has the none reverse machine heads and Allen key adjustable bridge saddles whereas there are reverse windings on mine like an early 60’s model and threaded bridge saddles with slot headed screws. A nice bass nonetheless- if it were nearer I’d offer him £700 cash. If it were an earlier model I’d snap it up at £800.

Yes that is misrepresenting goods - guilty your honour. Hope they get their money back. The clever ploy of blurry photos and ‘ignorance’.

The price is climbing someone will be very disappointed with their find(er).

Moog Subsequent 25 analog synth. This is the latest version of Sub(sequent) series and has had many tweaks and improvements from its earlier sibling the Subphatty. This synth has seen little use since it purchased in September 2020. It is beautifully made and sounds wonderful with an upgraded look and the benefits of being duophonic. Very high quality synth engine based on the subsequent series and an upgraded keybed. Great little Moog with all the classic sounds. Selling as I’m not using it much and I have too many synths. Boxed with all manuals. I can post in the UK at buyer’s risk and cost. No trades no offers. Sorry I need to downsize my synth collection. A good saving on a new one.

I just had a message saying he will update the listing.

And also I politely pointed out to him that it’s a later Squier. As yet he’s not sent an answer. I think trading off a bereavement is particularly loathsome.

Yes I’ve got my eye on that I had one years ago but it had had a bad refinish prior to me buying it. Great wide flat neck on it. Lovely. -

I have been in touch with the seller about both instruments as I love the feel of Wilkes basses. Unfortunately both are on the heavier side at just under 10lbs. The seller has other basses on offer and was really helpful. -
I think you bought it off me Alain - it had an amazing neck - wasn’t it a medium scale?

Yes I spotted it - what a brute! I am going to have a bid always fancied trying one. -
Hi I have this project for sale - sadly I’ve not had time to complete it and I’m moving house soon. The neck is NOS purchased from eBay last year. The body custom made by a luthier for me based on a long horn Marathon, the control plate and pickup surround (protective plastic still in place) were also custom made. The tuners are complete and Shergold types, the loom is from a stereo Marathon and will need maintenance but I believe it works. The neck plate and bridge are from a Squier bass. The pickup is a cheap one but I will included it if it’s any use. The project needs finishing. I’m looking for offers before I put it online elsewhere as I thought there may be interest on here. I don’t want to split it really. The body is superb and was made for the neck so it’s a perfect fit. If you want the body and neck together and no other parts let me know. There are no other parts. It’s an opportunity to create your own take on a Shergold. Thanks! No trades. Happy to post at buyer’s cost in U.K.

Here is another that has gone way ahead of its value! I sold a near mint one recently for not much more than this. Lockdown boredom? The seller is very honest about it’s condition people must be going stir crazy.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Precision-Bass-Guitar/265061210296?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

Is this 76 P legit? (fender experts needed)

It went for nearly £900! Amazing. I wouldn’t have paid £300 for it. -

It’s a bitsa - as others have said. It’s got some Fender parts but from different eras. The machineheads are early to mid 70s. The serial sticker on the rear of the scratchplate is later 70s and possibly it’s been stuck on a none Fender scratchplate. The neck plate has the black plastic gasket so possibly legit but copies are easy enough to buy online. The pickups would be best identified by looking at the bobbins underneath. The pots are nothing like my 70s bass - here’s a pic. It’s all very vague. The thumbrest has the brown colour of some 70s era rests. The neck is as he says a replacement. -
Pete bought a Seymour Duncan pickup from me. Great guy to deal with, many thanks!
