Unfortunately as a result of Parcelforce losing a valuable bass I bought and the ongoing compensation battle I need to sell this. Last in first out as they say. A recent purchase just prior to lockdown it hasn’t been gigged since and is in exactly the same condition as when I bought it off Bigthumb. For this limited edition model Fender combined classic features of the past with innovations from the present to create a unique take on the Precision bass. It has a light weight, contoured body and heavy duty bridge with options for through body stringing. A classic P bass and it plays beautifully. Frets have little wear and there are only a couple of tiny dings to the finish. The case is included as are all the bits and bobs. It weighs around 9lbs and balances perfectly. No trades I’m afraid, no none UK sales as it’s too expensive and risky. If you want it posting you will need to organise this yourself and it will need to be insured. My recent experiences mean I won’t accept Parcelforce as a courier option and collection is Tuesdays only. I’d definitely prefer pickup in person at an acceptable social distance of course! I will put the bass in it’s case in quarantine until the next lucky person plays it! Sold pending payment

Thanks Owen, we are awaiting news from the managers if this doesn’t happen I’ll take it further and will update this post.

Over a month on since my last post ( oh the irony) and no sign of this. The sender opened a case and they - Parcelforce - closed it saying it was delivered - of course this was the wrong parcel. They have consistently refused to discuss anything with me other than acknowledging that the parcel has been lost. I found the CEO’s email and the sender contacted him and his PA has been looking into this however there were apparently no online records kept about the various conversations both myself and the sender have had with various Parcelforce staff members. One of the issues is a lack of a named person dealing with this. First names only given and no accountability. I used Parcelforce for most of my transactions. No more. As far as I’m concerned they have mugged me for just under a grand’s worth of bass. I’m livid.

I have a lovely Vox AC50 Foundation amp and cab from 1966. It has been restored electronically and sounds great but the grill cloth on both amp and cab needs replacing. I need advice around refitting this cloth - if I can do it myself. Hoping to restore both but will start with the amp first. Any tips or links for doing this? Thanks in advance.

Brian bought a ‘77 Precision Bass off me - couldn’t have gone smoother. A great guy to deal with. Thanks Brian!

I’m not surprised. As I said they are collector’s pieces and those who may not play but want them for nostalgic reasons will pay for them. I wouldn’t mind one myself but not at that price. Think I’ll stick to my quirky Shergold basses!

Ha ha I don’t disagree on the playability front as I’ve played one!

They may look odd but they are a little bit of UK rock and roll history and as a result collectible. They were also quite respected in their day as they were good sounding instruments. Jet Harris had one as did Mont Campbell of Egg. There were also connections with Burns - Burns Weill. I like their quirky looks no wonder they were known as the Martian Cricket Bat!

Trace Elliot Twin Valve Head in official cabinet/sleeve. This is an extremely powerful amp with amazing tone and versatility. Modestly rated at 115 watts it will blow many modern amps out of the water in terms of punch and volume. The build quality is near military spec - it’s heavy duty and over engineered. An old school and industrial looking UK made vintage amp. It’s all original as far as I can see and has just come back from being serviced after a quarantine at a cost of £85 with a clean bill of health. It has the typical low transformer hum of an old valve amp. I think it’s late 80’s so now around 30 years old! It must be an early model as it doesn’t have the balanced DI. There are a few reviews on here of people’s experiences of these amps. I don’t want trades and I’m also against shipping it as it’s very heavy as you would expect. I’d prefer the potential buyer to try it out so I’m happy for you to collect at an acceptable social distance from my front garden after I demo it. Only selling as I’ve bought an old AC50 setup. For obvious reasons no none UK sales. More pictures added - the Markbass cab or Jennings cab are not included of course! £295 Thanks for looking!
