1. A bump for a contoversial bass! 675GBP Swaps considered - Gibson basses, Status/T Basses or Gordon Smith Basses or John Birch EB type bass, Moog Little Fatty. No interest in anything else sorry.
 2.
how is this still here? How does it sound with both pups full on?
Classic PJ, a really punchy sound with the best of both worlds ie plenty of growl but with an articulate mid range thanks to the SD Jazz pup, the tone control has an incredible range for a passive bass.
 3. For those who can't pick it up and have asked yes I can ship within the UK either Parcelforce 48 or with your own courier. There is a gigbag but no case.
 4.
...
Ha Ha a Magrittenbacker!
 5. A real bargain folks!
 6. Just to answer a few questions - the neck is approximately 43mm at the nut and 64mm at the body pocket, the neck is quite shallow and even up the scale. It's very playable and the laquer has ambered nicely with age, it's great to play and deserves to be played. The markings are all there on the neck and pocket and yes the finish is original. It has two raised pole pieces at the 'A' string and there are metal plates (brass/copper?) under the Precision pickup. The link will show examples of these basses..... 9.
RIC is a tiny corporation. That is why the man himself is replying. That is why not that many people putting some effort in can make things a real pain in the ass for them if they want to be dicks about it. This weekend is free listing, send around pics of your bass to everyone and we can all list it. Maybe he'll have a nervous breakdown.
Sadly I can't list anything as punishment they have barred me from selling....

 11.
Can't believe the hypocrisy of Ebay - isn't that where you got it from? - and if they're so red-hot on catching copies how come they let this one go? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rickenbacker-Bass-Mo...574893862058503 I was once shot down in flames - but it was worth it ......... when I pointed out on Rickresource that any JB bass is far superior in built quality than any original Rick. And since JB pioneered the straight thru neck I'm wondering who copied who. http://vintage.catalogs.free.fr/johnbirch.pdf
Yes you are correct I did buy it off eBay and the original ad had lot's of implied 'R word' references. You've got to admire John Hall's determination but eBay? They just get worse, the amount of people selling fake Fenders is beyond belief, you spot them everyday, the very fact is I was selling my JB as a JB and nothing else that's why I have dug my heels in over this.
 12. Sadly I have to sell this on, it was a recent purchase that was a spur of the moment thing and then I saw the potential repair bill for my old synth! It's a 1983 JV Squier '57 Precision in white with a rolled edge maple neck - as you know these JV models were the first run of Squiers and were/are the ones that shook up Fender USA and made them seriously rethink their production practices. This one is neck and body stamped with the date on the neck. The bass plays and feels fantastic, and is a good weight with no balance issues. The neck is straight and true, trussrod works as it should and frets are in excellent condition, it has the era approriate 'reverse' tuners and strap button behind the headstock. As you can see the bass has had a Seymour Duncan Basslines Jazz pickup installed professionally at some point in the past, the extra pot has been mounted on the non original scratchplate and the output jack to the side. All hardware, P bass pickup, etc. wiring with the exception of the third pot is original (cloth bound) with the original green cap. There are a couple of filled holes and two holes at the bridge where an 'ashtray' cover was mounted. There are minor dings to the body and neck which are typical of a 28 year old working bass (non of this relicing nonsense this bass has been looked after). Because the bass has the additional pickup it's not a collectors piece (these go for daft prices these days if you can find one) but it is a genuine JV Precision and plays at least as good as any USA P I've played. I'm happy to send this within the UK but pickup is preferred. I want to get back what I paid which is a very reasonable 460 GBP. If you need any more info please get in touch, no trades unless you have a Moog Rogue or Moog Little Fatty hanging around spare! 14.
This bit isn't true, laws are specific to countries, and they are what make things illegal. The is no law against selling something that looks a bit like something else here, if you aren't passing it off, or selling it as a means to make copies. I am legally qualified, and IP was my strongest subject, although I'm not a lawyer. We faker fans should have a whip round to get a letter from a proper IP Lawyer, it won't cost loads, anyone know one/is one?
Now that would be interesting!
