[/quote] Well its not as physically unwieldy as the Grabber and has no neck dive,balance is perfect. I think the Grabber has probably nailed the Rock and Roll sound for me but obviously this has a lot more flexibility. Playability wise it is a very easy bass to get along with as the neck is so slim and shallow compared to the Gibson. If you want a unique take on a Rick this is the best out there with great lineage.

[sup]It's actually fairly light - around the same as my 4001 bass at 9lbs. Soundwise you can get a lot of variation thanks to the Birch pickups and multiple controls, you can get the Ricky clank and also a great Thunderbird type tone so its great for rock, the surprise is that this can produce a mid range jazz type sound too, yep it can sound funky! Cheers for the comments it [i]really[/i] is a bargain at this price.[/sup]

As the title would suggest here is my lovely Eastcoast 'stick' bass, it comes with gigbag, spike, 'wings' and one set of steel strings and one set of 'weedwacker' strings. It is a nice red colour with the grain showing through. Generally in excellent condition although the nut was replaced by the previous owner and there is a chip where the nut meets the neck. Now sold

Selling my old Selmer valve head, its a bit tatty but very loud for both bass and guitar. Its a later 70s model and has been well cared for. The two mains switches have been replaced in the past otherwise it is stock. Nice old UK valve amp. No trades sorry cash only for my winter 'roof' fund am looking for offers around £195

Fnarr indeed!!! The 6 knobs are - volume, volume, tone, tone, master volume, coiltap (I think...one knob is a two way switch and it cuts the mid) and three way selector switch. All work as they should, for a passive bass you can get a massive selection of useable tones.

Ok here is a bit of an oddity its a boxed Transcendent 2000 synth which was designed by EMS and sold mainly in kit form in the late 70s. This unit comes in original box with filtersweep pedal. This synth was used by many UK acts including Joy Division - there is actually a picture of Bernard Sumner and Martin Hannett using one in the studio - in the 70s. This one is in excellent cosmetic condition although it has lost many of the silver caps on the knobs and two knobs are missing (easy to buy new ones from Maplin of course!!!). Performance wise its a bit quirky - the original owner had it stored in the proverbial Uncle's loft until I liberated it, I bought it from evilbay for a studio project now completed - all knobs work and effect the sound and all keys trigger although the filter section is a bit iffy as it cuts out at times, it needs a proper service to get the best from it. That said it can produce some truly evil sub frequencies and ridiculous Hawkwind-like pink noise sweeps. You can get some great lead sounds on it too. Inside everything is clean and it has been neatly put together. There are schematics online and loads of mod options for those adept with a soldering iron. The case looks brand new to me it obviously has had little serious use and I guess with a bit of switchcleaner and TLC you could get a classic synth on the cheap. Looking for 245 for it. I have better quality pics and also pics of its innards if required.
