1. Mint basses indeed. Incredible full passive sound recorded.
2. Totally. You get that low - mid snappy/attack which provides the definition to the already blossoming bottom end. I must say, P with a pick is possibly my favourite tone ever.
3. I used to use a PF. Nice sound, colours up the bass in a nice way. I wouldn't say it's totally transparent, it's got it's own sound, but a nice sound I must add. Build quality lets it down as the switches and input jacks are doomed to fail over long haul use. (they're all PCB mounted) It's got a DI built in so that's semi useful. The EBS is pretty darn transparent, solid, versatile in that it has several modes (tube/normal/dual) and you can also add gain to the signal beefing things up somewhat. They're both nice sounding units IMO. For the extra cash you get the full transparency of the EBS with little to no colouration. It tightens things up in the low end nicely.
4. I can't seem to listen to the soundclips? Any idea?
5. After jamming on this last night I've decided to withdraw it from sale. Killer sound on this beauty.
6. Big Guns!!! Don't mind a bit of skid row every now and again when I need my hard rock fix. But I way prefer def leppard!
7. I have a tonefactor cream pie for sale. It is boxed and in immaculate condition. It's a great overdrive pedal, very clear and gritty. Does the QOTSA bass sound well. You cant get these any more under the tonefactor name so it's collectable to boot. Sounds equally as sweet on guitar as on bass. It has a small footprint so should fit on even the most crammed board. £50 posted. Deal or what!
8. Never checked those out. I'd just go down the diago route if you've got the readies to dish out and want a hard wearing, protective board. Pretty much industry standard imo. If you are a dab hand at making things then perhaps you could knock one up yourself...
9. Diago is my personal choice of board. Robust and solid. Check them out www.diago.co.uk
10. What do you think of the Peavey amp? My mate plays through one and his tone is stupendous live and on record.
11. +1. I used to use a bddi with my euro lx to record on my digi16. It worked fine I thought. I use the tonepump sparingly though, just a bit of bass boost to fatten the low end out a tad. I never use the treble pot really. Thinking back I may of even used it flat letting the bddi take the reigns.
12. Berg cabs are excellent. I use the NV610. They've blown me away so much since moving to them. I don't think I could ever switch to anything else now. They are an integral part of my sound. They are literally the best out there IMO.
13. Gotta love a bit of Frank Bello, Spreading the Disease era especially! Met him once up in Manchester when my old band supported the thrax back in the day. Nice guy. Medusa!!!!!!!!
14. The price on the MB is rediculous, still...wouldn't mind having a blast on the MB just for jokes. I'm sure it would sound class. Does make life that little much easier diagnosing potential faults, but is it worth paying through the nose for it? Hopefully my lottery win will come through this week...
15. Marshall guv'nor springs to mind?
16. Spector Euro LX Little Mark Berg NV610 (and a few indespensible stompers) Tone heaven. My gas has defo been quelled.
17.
Hi I thought you were robbed and this was one of the things stolen?
Yeah that's correct. I had one on my board already and have been lucky enough to recently nab 2 brand new boxed ones from my local freeads.
So tempted by both of these pedals. Would the Cream Pie compare to a Tubescreamer? I have a knackered Ibanez Soundtank Tubescreamer and it's dying on me. Pics?
Can't say I've tried a tubescreamer Joe. I've got pics on my phone. Will have to upload some when I get a chance, hopefully this evening. Cheers
18. Firstly I have for sale a Zoom UF-01 Ultra Fuzz. These are old school analogue stompers that are true bypass and are sure to appreciate in value over the next few years. These are excellent fuzz boxes with a range of super cool features such as gate and reso. The gate helps create some synthy gated fuzz type sounds so it really is a awesome box of tricks. Did I mention that it also sounds awesome! Unboxed and in excellent condition. £60 delivered I also have a tonefactor cream pie up for grabs. It's a really nice low gain overdrive. They are now unavailable under the tonefactor brand so this is collectable, not to mention a great sounding OD unit. Boxed and in mint condition. £55 delivered
19. IME I actually find that the traveler 104 is an awesome cab! I loved mine to bits and saw it as clean and clear and able to get real loud with the right amp. But again, that's my own experience....
20. Totally down with Frank Bello; Spreading the Disease is a great thrash album. Stunning sound and playing! In fact that's my fav Anthrax album. Digging Summer Welch from Baroness atm.
21. Yeah they're supposed to sound mint with a thunderfunk or GK head. My LM drives it really well (450w) but I'd certainly like to try a V-4 or bassman 135 through it, I just know it'd sing!!

barber ltd

I use a barber LTD silver for my low gain overdrive needs. It's an ace pedal, very well built with a real nice basic sound. I'd say it's quite a transparent OD and just adds a nice subtle grit to the tone. It's a low gain circuit so even with the gain maxed your not gonna get anything ott, however in this position you can get a nice saturated tube sort of sound. It has bass and presence trimmers inside for even more sound flexibility. I really find it stacks well with other low gain overdrives to produce medium-high gain sounds. Overall, I'd say go for it!
