1. Not that it's much help, but my first ever Spector bass had the same issue. Opened the case one day to find part of the headstock had practically snapped off!! No bumps or knocks either! Completely fixable though, so don't worry too much. I had mine repaired by a good luthier and it was fantastic after that. No further issues at all. Just a bit of a bummer in the meantime I suppose.
2. I can heartily recommend the fostex vf160ex. Great machine.
3. They sure look good together Bob... Doh!!!!! I want them back already haha ;-)
4. Could be interested in this mate - i'll measure my bass later and see if it'll fit....
5. 2 or 3 is enough for me at any one time. I've just gone back down to 2, which is where I'll stay for the considerable future....until the gas strikes of course. Loving my gibsons at the moment. Plenty of thunder.
6. I think it's possibly due to the extremely low output of your bass? Have you tried it with another bass? Using my LM amp I never turn the gain up full, even with my low output passive guitars. I use a compressor to even out the spikes which helps..
7. It's a ripper lads ;-) Nik - my schedule is a crazy one, but I manage to get everything done...just about haha!! Ped - The avatar is just some random photo I found on the net which I used as a 'pic' for one of my songs on my myspace player. Yes, get some new photos of Nellie up!! My brother's got a staffie - beautiful dogs indeed.
8. Hehe....he's good at balancing basses on his snout ;-) Kenny. That's my old bass mate, in fact it's on some of my old demos!! Nice sounding bass that. Completely different sound on this model though...
9. Ha ha!! That's a crazy story!! How is Nellie these days? All good? Yeah i've seen bits of that program, it's great seeing what these dogs can do. I've been taking him to dog training once a week myself, he loves it! I've been watching the dog whisperer as well, that's a good watch. They are very 'bright' dogs and extremely loyal. Takes loads of walking tho!!! You'd be suprised the amount of negative press they get, although I can understand being the size he is.
10. His name's Max....didn't take long for him to grow into the massive beast he is today!! I need a quality hound to guard my basses haha! When I first had him he was tiny, and he would run in and out of the cat flap. Now he can barely get his snout through it!!!!
11. 1978 Gibson Ripper LS-9. My favourite bass of the moment. Great sound, look and feel. Spector Euro 4LX Ibanez Blazer 1980 2007 German Shepherd - plenty of growl and loads of bite!!!!!
12. www.testa-rossa.com just used these guys to replicate my album.
13. Yeah, you're right. I've just shot them an email about it so we'll see what comes back...
14. I managed to kill my MB amp last night. The sound went but the power light stayed on. 5 mins later it's almost bursting into flames. Smoke shooting out of the vents like nobodies business ha ha. Thing was, I never drive it to clipping point and I don't really push the power section 'that' hard either!!! Oh well, it was good while it lasted. It's only 3 years old though I wouldn've thought it'd last a lot longer than that. I'm wondering if there's any point at all in contacting Proel/MB about it. Edit: I took it apart to see what had happened and I'd done some serious damage to the PCB, talk about chargrilled!!! Loads of components had melted etc... I took a series of photos of the innards, so i'll email them to MB at some point and ask them about their supposed miniscule component failure rate.
15. Guys I've got this great ibanez blazer which i'm considering selling on. It's a really solid bass, but i've decided to go back to 2 main basses permanently, being my spector and my ripper. I really don't want to sell it but financial reasons prevail. It's the first version of the blazer with the jazz style offset body and pbass neck. It's natural ash with a one piece maple neck and black scratcher. Really good look and sound. This has a massive humbucker @ bridge position and as such really growls. It's in excellent condition for a 28 year old bass. It'd give it a 8.5-9/10 in terms of condition etc. It's been set up by Dave Dearnaley in Cardiff who changed the nut out to a brass one and polished/levelled the frets. He went all over the passive electronics as well. He really knows his stuff and said that this bass easy stands up to early p basses, rings like a piano he said. In fact he didn't want to give it back to me!! The tuners are the classic sweetheart style and are rock solid. Maximum stability. Stays in tune forever!! All in all a beautiful bass with a beautiful sound. Comes with own hardcase. £250 + postage "Corr it's bleedin lovely" "A headstock for the discerning gentleman" "Untill it's sold, Max is taking good care of this bass"
16. Hey all I've got this ripper bass and it's a beaut. I love everything about it, the sound, the feel and the playability. However, the tuners I feel could do with being upgraded for more stability and accuracy. Not that they're bad or anything, but I just feel that a tuner upgrade would really seal the deal. Something with a high gear ratio and as lightweight as possible. Hipshots anyone? I was wondering if anyone knows of direct gibson replacements, tuners that wouldn't require any drilling/mods. I'm going to have to get the tape measure out and do some direct comparisons between tuners, but if anyone's got any helpful pointers, holla yo!

bump Album's back from pressing, selling them for a diver. If anyone wants one get in touch.. Uploaded a couple more tunes off the album as well
19. Sweet collection!! Yeah, how does the old school model compare soundwise to the rest of the herd?
20. Where you from butty? Which part of SW?
21. I had the protection circuit go on my MB amp before. It was as a result of a very long jam in a very warm room with poor ventilation. By the time I got home and let it cool down it worked fine much to my suprise. That's the only hiccup i've ever had.
