1. My Favorite EBMM Bass. Of all the EBMM basses that I have owned, this was my favorite. I will again, one day get another.
 2.
Like it or not, you've been using "effects" every time you plug into an amp. You should maybe try broadening your view, pedals can be inspiring, or just plain fun. Get yourself a delay pedal and play around with it... You might find you enjoy it.
Now, now, you know what I meant.
If an fx pedal is used as an 'effect' it can really do wonders. Playing with these sounds can really take your playing to places you normally dont go. Thinking outside of the box sort of thing. Taste is a subjective statement. G
Sometimes thinking "outside the box", in a round world just doesn't cut it.
You do not like them. So you say. Try them! Try them! And you may. Try them and you may, I say.
Ahh green eggs and ham..... I had a jet phase years ago....30?.....it was fun but I never had any desire to use/abuse effects/pedals. I play straight to the amp with as clean and full a tone as I can get. Guys, I not dogging effects, I just have never had any need for them.
 3. I've never seen the need for using effects when playing bass. As I have heard many bassists use them sparingly with taste, I've heard far more use them to cover up their short comings.
 4. MOSFETS= warmer sound....in most applications....they restrict current as they heat up...but used within their limitations sound "warmer" than bi polars..... 6. I do a yearly "reseating" of all tubes in my SVT and took a couple shots of the insides for you all... Preamp section Power amp section
 7. I am not playing with one now either...I rehearse at home 2 hours a day, good for my rehab......I was dabbling at restarting my original band up from the 80's! (yikes) as the original co founder lives about 2 hours plus from me, but he has gone off the deep end mentally. He was always very hard to work with and ALWAYS talked between songs and would walk out at times if you asked him to be quiet. Many musicians would not play with me when I wanted to do a project if he was involved. It got that bad. Pity though, he was an extremely talented song writer.
 8.
35 seconds in......... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMLrqpz7OsE
Too funny Jamie!!
 9.
I was looking at the Ashdown ABM 410 T, which is an 8 ohm cab. However, the ABM head (the 500W one at least) is 4 ohms. Does this mean the head and cab are not compatible with each other? Or, does it mean that I need to run another 8 ohm cab to get it to work? I'm not really sure how impedance with heads and cabs works. Cheers Jono
You should run it with another 8 ohm can to get the maximum output from the head. You can run it with an 8 ohm cabinet however you will get approximately half the output. Impedance is a funny thing. The more cabinets you have, the lower the impedance drops. I have given you a link. http://www.sputnikmusic.com/lesson.php?les...d=97&page=1

 13.
My Last three rigs (current one first): Markbass LMK with 102P and 115: Ampeg SVT 2 Pro with 810 cab: Trace Elliot GP7 300SMC with 410 & 115: God.... I miss the last two!
I've never heard the Mark Bass gear, but I could see you missing those two bad boyz.
 14.
We all need to chill out an go "Om..Om..." a lot. To be serious for a moment, and in case my last post was misconstrued. I think all forms of music are valid, whether I “get them” or not. Generally speaking, I don’t much enjoy Jazz and regard jazz funk as pointless. As I said, I don’t really "get" Jazz but love funk, and think combining the two is a bit like mixing chocolate and fish for lunch. That doesn’t mean I’m right it doesn’t mean I’m wrong, it’s not even a question of taste, it’s just a matter of opinion. What I do enjoy is the range of (sometimes) passionately held opinions on this forum and the humour about it, whether or not I agree with them. Having enjoyed the I Hate Jazz thread and seeing the havoc that caused, we get a thread called I Love Jazz, which immediately starts the same arguments from a different direction, I think its great !! Having said all that, and just to prove I don’t know what I’m talking about, the most powerful (whatever that means) music I’ve ever seen was Miles Davies at the Festival Hall a year or so before he died, which although Jazz was really hairs up on the back of the neck jaw dropping. So what I’m saying is enjoy, treat all this as fun, and keep an open mind Love to all, whatever you like ! Chop
Well, I've had Chocolate in bed in the afternoon with a beautiful Lady......
