  1. I used to have a pair of these. I'm 5'6"" tall, slightly built and never had a problem carrying them or loading them in and out of the car. Great cabs.
  2. File out Square holes and use the cage nuts.
  3. Strengths :- Good quality gear, reliable transport, always turn up in good time Rock steady timing, professional attitude and behaviour Don't smoke or drink, well prepared, will put the time in to learn new material. Weaknesses :- A bit Mutt and Jeff, don't slap, due to old age and arthritic hands can no longer play very fast for long periods Not the slightest bit interested in football (believe me this has been a problem) Like to derig and get off home pdq Intolerant of other band members who use rehearsal time to learn new material rather than do some homework and come prepared
  4. I will happily bring a pristine cable with a straight Neutrik silent jack however as we all know it may not work with some active basses.
  5. I'll just leave these two pictures here.

  8. OT, you think you've got a problem? As soon as I'm fit again I'll be looking for another band.
  9. I was right. Here it is in its correct case with all the bits. I'm not sure I want to sell it now. 🤔
  10. Here's a photo of the headstock that I took in 2015. As far as I can tell nothing has changed since your original photos so one must assume that this is original and not refinished. I'll have a look later and see if I have the original case among my collection. It might have got swapped over at some point.
  11. Thanks. I've got a battery operated UV lamp. I'll give it a go.
  12. Thanks for the info. Seeing as the body has very few dings apart from the two scratches on the front it might well be the original finish. I'm just passing on what I was told. It certainly plays well. Tell me about the black light test.
  13. I bought this bass from Bass Gear in January 2013. At the time I commented on how clean the neck was and I was told that it had been refinished. Since then it's resided in its case apart from one band rehearsal. That's all I can tell you.

    MB1 Feedback

A very simple exchange of items involving nothing but the navigation of the UK postal system was carried out flawlessly. Thank you Martin Dave
  15. Trade added.
  16. That was a 1980 pre-EB. The finish was known as Root Beer. I bought it from the USA. The story behind it was that in 1980 MM were trying to get better exposure so they produced a number of basses for named artists. This one was allegedly made for Tom Hamilton, hence the gold hardware, although I was never able to prove it. It went to a new home in Denmark a few years ago. The scratch plate was fitted by a later owner although it still had its original black one. It was quite heavy.
  17. This picture from my archive must from 2004 when I had a thing for Musicman basses. The last of these, the Pacific Blue Burst SR5, finally left two weeks ago. Its place has now been taken by a natural Sterling, the third I've owned over the years - I'll never understand why I ever sold the others.
  18. Fender Nate Mendel Precision Bass complete with accessories, tags and Fender Gig Bag. Under 1 year old, home use only. Back of neck has been stripped, sanded and oiled to give that ultra fast smooth feel. Collect (GU10) or meet within 50 miles. Trade for Squier Vintage Modified Jazz in Natural + cash my way

  22. Last night I concluded a deal with Spencer involving speaker cabs. He drove to me as agreed to deliver and collect. As others have said, " a gentleman" and "deal with absolute confidence".
  23. Totally agree. Fortunately my Sadowsky Metro has such a device.
  24. I've decided that I prefer the sound of my 2 x One10s so the almost new Barefaced Two10 Cab has to go. Metal Grille Switchable 4-ohm/12-ohm Barefaced Cover Original box and paperwork.
