1. Meh. Dave Grohl is a bit of a two-trick pony for me.
2. Going to see a band called Slaves tonight - 2pc electro sort of stuff. Never heard them before but apparently they are good!
3. I could maybe have a go at it Jass but the equipment I'd be using would be quite basic! It is a very 'Ray' sound anyway with the treble open, and leans more towards that 70s pre-EB Ray tone when treble is cut. I will see what I can do this weekend
4. BUMP! Had a bit of interest on Facebook but would rather sell to a trusted BC-er! PM me
5. Price drop to £280 including shipping to UK! Bargain! If I posted soundclips of this baby (which I might well do!) you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between it and a 70's Ray!
6. It varies from region to region, although there are many crossovers. One tip I found helpful was to start thinking of songs as progressions e.g. Stand By Me is 1-6-4-5, which means that you can pretty much transpose on the fly no matter what key the song is called in.
7.
"Substitute" by The Who.
Love it. That big open Precision sound is incredible!
8. Start your week off with a healthy dose of BUMP!
9. Bought an amp from Eddie - Great transaction overall, fast replies and shipping to me was like lightning! Amp was well packaged too. Highly recommended! Cheers pal
10. The one thing I would say in defence of Ashdown is that their warranty and aftersales service is really second to none. I would have no hesitation buying some of their gear.
11.
If they stand/sit there casually busking with a view that cause its not enough money ect...... I would question why they accepted the gig in the firstplace. i wouldnt have advertised it as : dep (insert instrument here) required for £50.00/£200.00 gig
I once had a dep who turned up in foul form and complained that if he were running the gig, he would definitely be paying the musicians £x amount. This was despite him having agreed in advance to do the gig for a fee. He grumbled the whole night and needless to say, was never asked back again. I am aware that despite considering himself a professional player, he regularly sits in on the busy nights of the week when others are out gigging. I wonder why! There is a very definite difference in someone who makes a living from music, and a professional bass player.
12. Most gigs I've done as a dep in function bands have featured a setlist which is around 80% the same as the last - no matter what the band. Learning a pop/rock function set will do you the world of good in many senses. I wouldn't look at it like it is learning a full set for one gig. It's great experience and will work in your favour long after the gig is done.
13. I had exactly the same combination of cabs a few years ago. Thunderous! Best of luck with the sale!
14. I have CS 62s in my Squier CV Precision. Love 'em!
15. YI 200? Is this because you're from the Toon man?
16. Sadowsky Aguilar

18. Definitely Darkglass. Great pedal!
19. The Fender Rumble combos (version 3 with silver cloth) are cracking amps for the £££
20. I love not having a normal Saturday night. Friends/coworkers talk about how they love sitting in watching X Factor, eating Chinese food, getting drunk etc. I couldn't think of three things I'd rather do less! Plus - when you have a day job like me, it is something to look forward to in the evenings or at weekends. I like living a double life!
21. For the guys who use a U5 straight into an amp and cab - Do you find that you miss having control over EQ at all? I am intrigued by the simplicity of the setup.
22. A few friends of mine do it. Generally I think the best preparation is to brush up on your reading, as sometimes you can be playing as part of 5 or 6 different bands on one cruise, meaning 5 or 6 different pads with 30 - 40 songs each, and it would be impossible to perfect in advance. Make sure to have fun when you are out there! Great experience by all accounts.
