1.
Is this just a rule in the amp and cab section? It is pretty common in the basses section and haven't seen any removed for that?
I'll have to 'visit' there a bit more often, then..! Yes, it's the whole Marketplace; if we (the Mods...) see such postings, they're deleted without further ado, and the poster is 'flagged'. Persistent 'flagging' results in official warnings and more, if justified. Is there a problem with this..? It's been a 'pinned' post in the Marketplace since 2012 ... 36 hour bumping rule, Trade Valuations and Trade Offers ... Hope this helps.
 2. Offers and trade propositions are to be made by Private Message (PM...) only, such posts in an ad are systematically deleted; the offending post here is no longer visible for this reason.. Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
 3. This ^^ would imply that, to retain this extra 'value', one wouldn't, oneself, be using the thing, either. That's the 'museum curator' model (which has its own perspective...). The extra 'value' is dissipated as soon as the thing is actually used, and can never be recaptured, by definition. New-unused only occurs once, hence the premium in New Old Stock (NOS...). Is anything worth the difference..? That is a huge variable.
 4.
I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic...
Be sure; be very sure. ...
 5.
Could the drummer use those and be streamed live to The Tickled Trout from his own house to save room and set up times?
Upstream or downstream..?
 6.
Not sure about the tyre analogy as it would be the equivalent of strings which invariably do get changed.
What..? And lose all of that invaluable 'mojo'..? Surely 'original strings' on a historic instrument would vastly increase its perceived worth..? No..? OK then, maybe I'll change mine one day. What about the tax disc, then..? Should that be original, too, to retain the 'original' epithet..? A rocker cover gasket..? An exhaust system..? A broom handle..? What possible 'value' could originality for its own sake have..? I can understand with hand-wound p/us, or the original nitro finish, but pots..? Do they have any impact at all on the sound, comparing old ones to new..? I'd say not. Caps, now, that's different. Bumblebees or nothing..! (Well, OK; original Russian oil-filled paper and wax, for vintage tone...). A vintage valve amp with old, exploding filter caps is just a paperweight if it can't be safely plugged in. How to replace those caps, and still retain the 'Reeves' blue blob..? Why should one even bother, except as a museum piece..?
 7.
Aerodrums are the answer! ...
Could be (I've a set on order...), but don't overlook the need for unimpeded line of sight for the camera and floodlight needed for the thing. Not so much 'real estate' saved, really.
 8. I don't know how many 4 1/2 litre turbo Bentleys or Austin 7s still have their original tyres. For a museum curator, there may be an importance, and a bass that's as original as Trigger's broom would be the other extreme, but worn parts need replacing with suitable, working parts or the instrument needs putting in a glass case. One can't have it both ways, and not all that is old and original retains its value. An original 1lb of pork sausages, in original wrapper..? I think not. Anyone overly concerned about such details is not looking for a bass to play, but an investment which will increase in value. That's speculation, not bass-playing. A worthwhile occupation for some, of course; not for many, I'd suggest.
 9.
... Do you have any suggestions of software to use to produce the sounds of a piano?...
Kontakt 5 has quite a selection of piano sounds, of various types, available for it.
 10.
... Any thoughts or info will be much appreciated. Thanks
I'm not expert, but I'd say that, through a MIDI interface, it'll be fine into a laptop; as an alternative, into a hardware MIDI expander it'll be good, too. The expander would be less hassle, a laptop a bit more flexible. Unless you're looking for something specific, I'd recommend the simpler route of an expander (a Roland..?). There's loads around, quite affordable these days, and less fragile than a laptop set-up. Others may have differing views, of course.
 11.
How can you use cosm guitar amp modeling for a bass?
Signal goes in, signal comes out. Simples. Whether one likes the result or not is, of course, a matter of individual taste (or lack of...). Any and all mash-ups are feasible, some sound better than others, that's all.
 12.
... Well, I call it inbox spam, "please come on my compilation it'll only cost you £50", "hey, I can get your music on spotify and itunes, blee"...
I've never had the slightest 'invitation' nor incitation coming from my Soundcloud presence. My stuff doesn't seem to attract solicitation of any sort; must be a reflection of its musical appeal, I suppose. Should I be pleased and proud or not..?

 15. It fits my 'needs' very well; so much so that I recently took up a subscription, and now have the benefits over and above the 'free' version, and can therefore replace a file without having to lose the informations already garnered. I'm far from professional; it's purely for hobby, but, for me, well worth the very modest fee. I hope it can survive and thrive.
 16.
What was involved with the upgrade. Thanks.
Does this help..? Soul I - Soul II ...

 19.
... The people I jam with are I would say at a decent level and have told me I can play but I'm playing such basic stuff nearly anyone could play it.
[Robert Robinson] Ah, but they're not, are they..? You are..! [/Robert Robertson] If you can play, even (in your opinion...) modestly, then you're good for most local bands, at least (maybe more..!). If it's personality problems or confidence worries, I'd say that going for it could be a help, as long as you've enough 'bottle' to put up with the initial hassle. Only you can know that, of course, so I'll not pursue. There are so many advantages, though, and very few musicians get hurt playing music together, at whatever 'level', so what's to lose..?
 20.
My mate as took his amp to be fixed...
OK, it's your call. Thanks for the explanation.
 21.
I need some advice on valves and amps being fixed....
Is there a reason for not exposing your case here..? You may get some unexpected valuable replies posted for the benefit of all. Just sayin'.
 22. A few remarks and a couple of questions, if you would..? There are not many folks that get through life in general totally on their own; if there are any at all, I don't know them. Many tasks and skills are so much more assimilable given either good tutoring or good support. Practise is one thing; quality practise is another. Maybe you're trying to run before walking..? Three years is not that long to become proficient in any instrument, more especially if you're on your own. Whatever the reasons for not taking up regular, costly lessons, is there really no way at all of putting in the effort of taking, say, a monthly lesson for three months, or similar..? Do you get to play bass with other folks..? Whatever the (perceived...) level, there is certainly someone not too far away that would appreciate your contribution, however modest. It may not be in your favourite style or context, but playing bass is playing bass, for whatever formation, when cut down to the very basics. Often, that is exactly what's required. This would not preclude the continued self-improvement you're striving for, but meanwhile you're playing something useful. Turn your bass around, and play it 'lefty'. Do you find that difficult and uncomfortable..? Well, that's how you started out originally, the very first time you picked up the instrument. The difference in sensation is a modest measure of the improvement already found in those short three years. It matters little enough what others think of your passion (as long as no-one is really hurt, of course..!), and not everyone will understand the pleasure to be derived from small successes and victories after weeks or months of stagnation. When it starts to go right, it may not be apparent to others, but you'll know. Persist, as long as the effort involved brings pleasure, but be patient and not so hard on yourself. It's true, some folks take up tasks with more ease than others, but they are not you. In a 'worst-case' scenario, there is more to music than bass guitar, but that would involve adopting a totally different mind-set. There would still be effort and frustration, anyway. Not sure if this helps, of course; others will surely have other views.
 23.
What about grouping songs by artists? Been thinking of doing this, like our 3 Stevie Wonders followed by our 3 Michael Jacksons...anyone doing it that way?
Yes, I've come across this, with a series of 'Stones' numbers, or a suite of 'Johnny Hallyday' hits strung together. It can work very well. In the group I presently play with, though, we deliberately keep the 'Radiohead' stuff we do spread out over the set, so I'd say that it all depends..!
 24.
You could have fooled me.
'Could have' being the operative part.
