  1. I've always had great service from D'Addario - they were really supportive with donations at The Herts Bass Bashes.
  2. Bought some Rotos tapewounds (65/75/100/115) a while back - didn't actually open them till yesterday when I put them on my new Yamaha BBG5S. I didn't play the bass till today when I noticed the D/G are the same. Didn't notice when restringing the bass. I've emailed Rotosound asking for a "replacement" G string. Anybody else had a similar experience? In all my time playing I've never encountered this.
  3. Joined 11 years ago today....I had three basses back then. A 4 string, a 5 string and an acoustic...probably owned 50+ basses since.

You people have been a bad influence on me...😉😉

I think you'd have been called The First Ones if this was Babylon 5.

Same sort of story here Mick, had only owned a few basses til Basschat, now I think I`ve owned them all!

  4. I can see a theme developing here...
  5. I'm with the consensus - 2x 12 rather than a 212 - your back will thank you too.
  6. I must say that fretless looks amazing..
  7. I'm not sure the BB's are for everybody. I recently bought a BB615 - great tones, etc but I can't get on with the body shape. I much prefer my BBG5S. So much so that I bought a second - they sound amazing with tapewound strings.
  8. There's was an Aria SB on ebay this week which I was considering. Plan was to de-head and convert to headless. Went for more than I would have paid.
  9. Removed the sticker, lowered the action, fine tuned the intonation and fitted tapewounds. Like a new bass - but TBF is it for me.
  10. That's what I use. I bought a can several years ago - still have it.
  11. Not enough credit to @upside downer for the thread title. Way to go, sir
  12. I don't really have space but I could just about squeeze in an Alembic SC if you like.
  13. Bit of Acid Jazz anybody??
  14. Amazingly clean example of a 45 year old bass... GLWTS
  15. Somebody should point out that the photo provided is stretched giving the bass an elongated look.
  16. Another grab at his 15mins of fame? Or an out of court settlement? I've no doubt the bands lawyers have it covered...

Went for a tenner then!! Maybe needed a bit of simple sorting but silly money, 2 bags o' chips. Those heavyweight combos are a bit out of fashion though. And Kings Lynn is a satellite of Holland😀

Rats! I live about 20 miles from Lynn. Mind you I am selling at the moment rather than buying.

  17. That's nice...I learned a while back that I don't like the neck profile. GLWTS (you won't need it).
  18. Probably what BCH said.
  19. A thought: How about commissioning @Andyjr1515 to build you a semi acoustic style MM body (a la Spectorcore) - it would be unique.
  20. I was thinking the body could be chambered, etc and the cost off set by selling the other parts.
  21. Another one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/194302301723?hash=item2d3d51d61b:g:~v8AAOSwEsthIOV7
  22. No idea how close the fittings are but if you're after an inexpensive body.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224572339441?hash=item34498df4f1:g:YnIAAOSwvrxhF~ap
