  1. Hmm, having experienced only Boss multi-fx I would be inclined to agree. Thats not to say the OD and the Distortions don't have their uses, but they're not really 'leave on all the time' type sounds. I've always felt that Distortions, OD's and Fuzzes are quite a personal thing for a guitarist of any type so I've always had a separate pedal for that anyway. Truckstop

    SOLD

So tempted by the Pulsar but I just really dont need it! Good luck with the sale and I hope you dont end up regretting it. Truckstop
  3. Artec Big Dots? Wicked bit of kit! Truckstop
  4. La Bella Stainless Steels all the time for me these days. Excellent value for money not too zingy out of the packet. Need replacing maybe once a year? Truckstop
  5. PM'd! Truckstop
  6. Couple of coats of beeswax will make it look real good. Should add some real depth to the finish and will protect the oil finish too. Imperfections in the wax finish can always be remedied with another coat. Looks great already though! Truckstop
  7. I really wish Zoom would sack whoever designs them though. They look like a prop from Total Recall! I'm sure they're great pieces of kit, but look so 'low-end' and amateurish. On the lookout for a Bass Pod Live. They are amazing value for money! Truckstop
  8. Yep, I love my Boss ME-20b. Ridiculously flexible, compact, easy to use and sounds great. I only have other pedals because sometimes I prefer an analogue sound and because it looks wick. Truckstop
  9. Sorry dude, forum rules state you need to name a price in order to avoid auction style selling and to avoid people offering like 10p. Cheers Alex
  10. Hello mate, Where are you based? Have PM'd also Cheers Alex
  11. 1.21 GIGAWATTS!!! All joking aside, there's clearly been a shift in the space/time continuum. Truckstop
  12. Just a small curio. Wondering whether vintage pedals sound as good as their re-booted counterparts? There appear to be plenty of old-skool EHX pedals out there (well on eBay at least) and I was wondering whether it's worth nabbing them or not. I mean, if the new versions are just rehoused in more modern livery, then an older one should sound the same albeit 'vintage' and therefore better! Anyone got any thoughts on vintage pedals are good enough to put on a modern pedalboard? Cheers Alex
  13. It's just so naff! I love it! Truckstop
  14. No. I think that people's tastes change and what you actually look for (on BC for example) changes. Case in point: When I joined BC I was all about EBS and fancy coffee table wood basses and I saw them all over the place because I knew what manufactures made what I liked looking at so I didn't even bother clicking on the MM/Fender based threads. I've sort of gone off that style of bass now so i don't look at them or seek them out as much as before so my brain is saying to me that there are less out there. Which I dont think is necessarily true! I think its all down to what you're exposing yourself to. Truckstop
  15. I love this guy! His tone on 'The Fragile Live in Adeleide' (look for it on Youtoob) is the tone I strive for when fuzzing sh*t up. Who's next? Frank Zappa?! Truckstop
  16. Yeah but I suppose after buying and then adding an exp. pedal to a board, it's as near as makes no difference? Unless I'm underestimating the size of the Digitech Whammy! But then I suppose you could always leave your expression pedal off the actual board and just use if on the floor like I do. In which case yes, just get a PS-6. Ahem. Truckstop
  17. Uh huh. So what does/can it do? Truckstop
  18. How does the Alesis F2 work? Cheers Alex
  19. Yeah. Either that or a digitech whammy I suppose? Truckstop
  20. Yeah the pitch up sounds proper digital and warbly. But I like it! Makes chords very interesting!
  21. Oh dear, it's started! Good luck, and don't forget to note your progress in the Pedalboards: Basschat Style! thread! Truckstop
  22. Hmmm, I'll ask around. I know a few carpenters who must have something i could use.... Thinking about it, modding the current housing is probably the simplest way to sort it out. Cheers! Alex
  23. Hello all, I'm having a complete nightmare with my Yamaha NE-1 Parametric EQ. Basically, the input and the output sockets are in the most minbendingly frustrating places. I need it rehoused into a Boss style arrangement or any other sensible arrangement in order to make it fit into my pedalboard with a little more grace! I'd even be happy with modifications to the original housing just to make it a little better for me.Even if the sockets were on top of the bloody thing! Can anyone out there help? Cheers Alex
  24. Lee must be going through tough sh*t to have to sell all his wonderful gear at such ridiculous prices. Hope it all works out mate and good luck with the sales! Truckstop
  25. I'll answer a few of your questions as best I can!: Firstly, yes. Pedals are connected together by 'patch cables'. These are short, usually about 5" long and usually with right angled jacks to save space. Secondly, no. You wont need to buy a power supply for each pedal you buy. You can buy a 'daisy chain'. This is a power supply cable that attaches to your power supply plug and you can plug each individual supply on the daisy chain into a pedal. For example, I have a Boss 9v power supply with a 3 socket daisy chain attached to it. I use this to power 3 9v effects pedals off one plug. Alternatively, you can buy something called a 'power brick'. This is plugged into the mains, and from the 'brick' you can supply up to 10 pedals using single power supply cables. Bare in mind these take up more space than the daisy chain method. It gets more complicated when you end up getting pedals that prefer to run on 12v or 18v. Then you will need to buy separate power supplies for them. It gets even more complicated when it comes to working out how much power each pedal takes. Say for example your power supply supplies 2000mV, you wont be able to power more than 2000mV worth of pedals regardless of how many sockets you have in your daisy chain. If you just have one or two pedals (a tuner and a drive pedal for instance) a pedalboard is not really essential and you can deal with having them on the floor. The main reason people have pedalboards is to make it easier to transport lots of pedals at the same time and to save time connecting everything up! The signal flows from input to output. So, bass in the input of your pedal, patch cable from the output into the input of your next pedal and then a cable from the output into the input of your amp. Hope this helps a little Alex edit: Bronze medal!
