1.
The great thing about your posts, Nigel is that they are full of passion and love of music. That's not bollocks.
This, absolutely bang on. Well said.
2. I've had the band-split-and-reform-without-me thing. I wasn't impressed. (The "new" band played a vanity gig (leader's birthday) and vanished. Not my problem.)
3. If Rasta says it's a good neck, I will believe him
4. ooo... a Fender I think is good-looking. Now that is a rarity

6. the jazz back is gorgeous - I'd just varnish it as is and I love the body.and headstock shapes. Does the body have a curved front?
7. Surprised this is still here. John's a gentleman and a scholar, too.

10.
I assume not many non-Warwick basses have an adjustable nut, then? Why? (Genuine question - I'm surprised that such a clever thing is not very common.)
FWIW, I didn't know before this that any bass manufacturer offered an adjustable nut... thanks for the heads-up
11.
The frets were approx 1 or 2 mm high, once they're gone the strings will feel too high in the nut. So you need to open out the slots a bit to get the strings closer to the finger board.
This. Makes the strings hard to play near the nut if you don't lower them a bit. Thanks Fat Rich.
12. If I was closer I'd have nabbed this ages ago.

17. Stupid Band Name would be a stupid name for a band. Probably.
18.
Usually, yes. It's what makes me love a large proportion of the music that I love (Springsteen, Gaslight Anthem, Counting Crows etc al particularly jump to mind) as opposed to just 'liking' it. The line in Bobbie Jean about calling up 'not to change your mind, but just to say I miss you baby; good luck, goodbye' makes my chest tighten just typing it. Yes, I'm a wuss. And yes, I know it's written about a man
This.
19. I liked #8... I went to see a well-known folk-rocker last year, and I heard him say stuff I'd seen directly quoted in a newspaper review of a London gig a week earlier. IMO, that's going a little far with the choreography, Richard.
20. Is this free-standing (a pedal or a rackmount), or does it need fitting to the bass? (soldering, etc.)
21. Purple Palmer B-05 unlined fretless five-string, in need of TLC. Selling because I don't need it and I don't get on with the neck. With a little work it would make a reasonable backup or starter fretless five. Various minor scars. No significant marking to the fingerboard. There is a crack from the B-string tuner to the edge of the headstock. It is stable and has had thin superglue run into it; there is minor overspill on the surface. There are dents along the top edge of the neck, probably done with a pencil point, showing fret positions. Passive pickups. Electrics are noisy (fizzy, not crackling); probably in need of shielding. Strings are unused Status Hotwire flats (new on 15 months ago, and not played since). Pics here: http://s1295.photobu...s?sort=3&page=1 Apologies for the dust. £50 plus carriage. PMs, please.
22. Pretty Also, ead is a good guy.
