1. Nasty, IMO.
2.
I guess it would be easy to change - a sheet of vinyl on the layer would change it instantly. I quite like the look of these!
Now that's a really good reason to have one
3.
Definitely seen one. (Wooden body, not perspex.) Link: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item5b07778693
I plead guilty to not paying any attention to the pic...
4.
31 and a doubleneck 6/4. It's an illness.
Ain't it just. It came as a bit of a shock to me when I actually started counting.
5.
Never thought about a black pickguard until I saw this. I think it works instead of the tort for a dark contrast. What do you think?
Tasty I might go for dark blue instead?
6. Needs more cowbell.
7.
I'm not traveling but the kit sounds intriguing. Its on eBay?
Definitely seen one. (Wooden body, not perspex.) Link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bass-Guitar-DIY-Kit-Project-Headless-4-String-GK-SHB-20-Build-Make-Luthier-New-/390967297683?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_205&hash=item5b07778693
8.
I'm worried it says for decoration of your car hood. Do people actually stick dismembered heads on their cars?
I noticed that. I think lawsuits would follow any collision with a pedestrian.
9. I've lots of stuff I'm not using. I need to sell stuff.
10. Though I suppose it could be worse. Through-body stringing, for instance.
11. (a): Ewww. (b ): is that an EUB?
12. I had a single moment when I thought the body was purple... my life might have changed at that point. GLWTS
13. Interesting. I will revisit over the next few days, see if I actually like them
14. My old band played a Friday night at a Con club, all OK; our usual mix of pop+rock, 50s-90s. So they rebooked for a Saturday. Cool Nobody told us that Saturday was the night the punters danced. And by "dance" I mean "waltzes". We were not well received.
15. They've been trying to sell that for at least two years.
16. Good when dry... not so much when wet. It would need careful sealing. You would not, for instance, want to sweat on it.
17. I like it.
18. Hard indeed. In no particular order: 3 Mustaphas 3, 'Aj Zajdi Zajdi Jasno Sonce'. https://www.youtube....h?v=Yl9-8RudQXk This will be played at my funeral. It's the harmony which does it. Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, 'I See A Darkness'. https://www.youtube....h?v=LAriDxTeed8 Though I could have found at least five songs from Will Oldham's back catalogue. The Mutton Birds, 'White Valiant'. https://www.youtube....h?v=UqFoRIj0Wzc Cold, spare, deeply creepy. I might have gone for 'While You Sleep' instead, but this fits my mood. Devo, 'Satisfaction'. https://www.youtube....h?v=jadvt7CbH1o Just to remind me what a cover version can be. Talking Heads, 'Memories Can't Wait'. https://www.youtube....h?v=VJu-IABeCws Another compromise. The vocal, again. Polysics' brutal cover of 'My Sharona'. https://www.youtube....h?v=k6NIJ5r448A This performance, with video, please. A bit like the Devo; artful, skilful, takes the original and does violence to it and comes out with something sublime. The Weavers, 'Sinnerman'. https://www.youtube....h?v=rXA2cjPnPJ4 The people who got me interested in music. The Barely Works, 'Byker Hill'. https://www.youtube....h?v=lmQMNEsKdTU Brilliantly done. That's not a bass guitar, either I regret many of the musics I've left out. Books: The Bible would need to be a King James, for the language. I think I might take Russell Hoban's 'Riddley Walker'. If you've not read it, treat yourself. And a luxury. It would have to be a piano. Self-tuning In a dozen years or so I might learn to play the thing...

J&D P Bass

The frets on the J neck I have (on a bitsa) are not exactly blunt...
20. T-40, I guess.
21.
Nowt about being exempt of polar bears.
True. Anyhow, if I can wash up on a desert island with a bass, so can a polar bear. (Presumably its bass would be Arctic White?)
