  1. In my old band we sold loads of tees, had many different designs as well. The main thing I’d say about merch is make it clear that it’s available, just announcing you have some isn’t enough, have it hanging up somewhere with the prices clear. We found that most sales take place at the end of the evening if regular gigs, or immediately after a set if a festival so have someone available to look after the sales whilst the band sort out the gear.
  2. Congrats. I had one of these in the buttercream as my flying bass for gigs in Europe. I thought I might have to replace tuners and pickups to make it more reliable but no, everything on it was great, all I did was add a black scratchplate and a Hipshot triple string retainer.
  3. Looks great in white
  4. Or maybe his wireless kit is just turbo powered and he’s playing from home?
  5. I use the Mono GS1 “Betty” strap and it’s very good. A bass that fatigues on a regular strap is usually ok with these.
  6. Song: Boss Hoss (by The Sonics) Band: The Spacewasters Venue: The 100 Club (London) Bass: Fender JMJ Mustang
  7. Making me wince
  8. I’ve spilt more ale down me westcoat than you’ve supped tha night!
  9. He was swapping about like The Edge
  10. Plenty of Mustangness from their bassist too.
  11. So lately I’ve been playing all my basses on rotation. Precisions with maple and rosewood, Jazzes with maple and rosewood, and Mustangs with rosewood (both Precision & Jazz width neck). The result being that after years of being a Precision with maple strung with steel rounds man I’m now def a Mustang with Jazz width neck strung with nickels man, I’m finding it much easier to play and I’m getting a sound that’s much more pleasing to my ears. Whoda thunk it!
  12. Just shows what a good forum this is
  13. Agree, I love Tech21 gear but I’ve always found their stuff to sound like a Sansamp (which is a great sound imo). I adopted the same approach on the eq with my PF500, just sounded great. Similarly agree re the cabs - I think the voicing really adds in to the Ampeg sound, maybe their low end - not quite so low as many others.
  14. There`s certainly a lot "more" in those ABM EVO IV amps.
  15. Nice review @Muzz, I’ve been looking for a reasonably priced lightweight Precision with J-neck for gigs, will check these out.
  16. I had the Ampeg PF500 and thought that - aside from lack of gain - did very well. I’ve currently got the Ampeg SCR-DI pedal for home use and really like it.
  17. Nice one. I played one of these at a gig in around 89 and really liked it.
  18. Elixirs. I get about 8 months use from a set before they dull.
  19. Pretty much my approach too
  20. Nice sounds there Jack
  21. I think the main question here is why is it so important to said BL & wife for her to play the bassline to the song on her keyboard rather than other melody parts.
  22. Calling all Sires……….
  23. Yes, played very well but for a short set they could have put more “bangers” in
  24. The Darkness at IOW currently on, as good as ever
  25. That Precision looks great
