My New Tony Franklin Fretless P - Videos and Pics
Old Horse Murphy replied to wateroftyne's topic in General Discussion
Not sure if you want to hear it Michael, but I actually prefer the sound of the Franklin. I didn't think I would but it just has more growl which is what I go for. -
I bought Will's Korg DTR2000. Service, product and comms were all top class and I'd highly recommend him to anyone. Thanks Will

Pete just bought a Boss TU2 Tuner off me and picked it up on the way to a gig. Nice guy (made friends with my dog) and highly recommended Watch out for the Guinness Pete!

Lee recently bought my Radial Bigshot and it couldn't have gone to a nicer guy. Superb comms, fast payment and a thoroughly decent guy as well. What more do you want? Thanks Lee- hope you keep in touch
I bought a couple of those from them took ages to arrive and for me they didn't have enough padding (I put some socks on them ) but they don't open wide enough either.
It took me ages to work out what you were talking about Wayne. I guess having a filthy mind doesn't help either

I have 2 pedals for sale: EBS Multicomp- a fantastic pedal in great condition (the box is a bit tatty)- Now Sold!! Radial BigShot i/o input selector. This allows two basses to share a common input, so no more swapping leads during a gig. It also allows you to set independent volumes for each bass too (ideal for passive and active basses to share). Excellent condition, but no box or manual (I can supply a PDF manual though)- £55 plus £4 P&P Here's the link to the Radial website with more spec: http://www.radialeng.com/pr-radial-bigshot-io.htm I am also selling my Boss TU2 pedal, again in excellent condition with box and manual- £45 plus £4 P&P Thanks for looking
Over a year ago my last band, "Second Time Around", foundered. Some of the former members tried to get a new venture off-the-ground but it had its problems. I had a year off to spend more time with my family. Out of the ashes has risen a new "Second Time Around" with three of the original members plus a new drummer and cracking young lady singer. Interestingly one of the guitarists is our own "Sixshooter" who also dabbles on the dark side when not spanking his various Precisions in another band. First gig is this Saturday, 4th April at the Astolat in Guildford. Time to use the Orange/Bergantino for real.
Well done Dave.I look forward to seeing you and Steve when you play again in Knaphill. So has Jill and her bum parted ways? That probably sounds a lot ruder than I intended it to, but I'll leave it unedited for now

Best Rack-mounted Compressor- Advice needed
Old Horse Murphy replied to Old Horse Murphy's topic in Effects
Can't you just put your pedals behind you right next to your amp? Lots of bassists do that.
I'm considering that too, or mounting them on a rack tray. To be honest though, I have enough bloody cables and wires as it is, so it would be quite nice to tidy up a bit too. Thanks for the feedback so far -
For the second time in about a month I found myself physically threatening someone in the crowd to move back before they spilt their pint all over my floor pedals. Fortunately he heeded the warning, but I think it's only a matter of time before everything gets covered in beer. I don't have too many pedals (a Radial Bigshot splitter, Boss TU2 Tuner and an EBS multicomp), but I'm considering bunging everything in a rack. Does anyone have any recommendations for rack mounted compressors of a similar standard to the EBS? I'm not looking to pay a fortune, but some ideas would be much appreciated.

Very nice Colin... I sold this as I was having trouble hearing the P Bass thump. I replaced it with a (guess what?)..............another P bass that I used to own. One day I'll learn I'm currently running a 1 x 10 powered foldback monitor out of the back on my Shuttle 6 and guess what? It works; I can hear!!! This has one of the nicest necks I've played and I'm glad it's gone to a good home. And here's a money shot of it being played by some thug (not Colin I hasten to add)

I've just taken delivery of Jono's (my old) Fender US P Bass. It's in even better condition than described and I'm delighted to have it back Fantastic service, excellent comms and a super-fast delivery. Jono even changed his shift pattern so the courier could pick the bass up earlier. That's service for you A top guy and highly recommended. Cheers Jono

New pickups - your experience appreciated
Old Horse Murphy replied to Huge Hands's topic in Accessories and Misc
Thanks OHM. I have just checked them out on Google, but can't find any UK stockists for an idea of price. Where are you getting them from? Any other ideas appreciated.
It might be worth dropping Jon Shuker a line as he gets them in direct from Delano. I really want a set of Fralins, but unfortunately like Wizard they don't do a 5 string P pickup -

Try Delano's mate. I've currently got an EMG P and J setup in my 5 string P bass, but I want to switch to Passives. I think Delano's are theway I'm heading. Mind you, if you want to go active, I may have a set of EMG's for sale soon........ -
