1.
Just to say that I like Old Horse Murphy's Shuttle 6.0 so much, I bought it from him :) No problem with lack of bottom end either. A killer amp head. I can't wait to get it at the weekend and hopefully get the Genz Benz NEO 212T by the weekend also.
IF you get the 212 by the weekend, bring it over Michael. My wife is away this weekend and the neighbours are pretty deaf
 2. It's even nicer in the flesh. Well, wood......you know what I mean It sounds amazing too and is immaculate (as is all Barrie's gear)

 4.
In my search for a lightweight cab, I am pretty much down to two. Either an Epifani 212/310 with my Ashdown ABM EVO III head or a Genz Benz Shuttle 6 with the NEO212 cab. I am kindly being lent an Epifani 310 to try and it does sound very nice with my Ashdown head. It still has that Ashdown sound but the Epifani makes it a bit cleaner over my Ashdown ABM 410. What is the Genz Benz Shuttle 6 and NEO 212 like and what sort of sound does it suit? Never heard a Genz Benz but they do seem to be very highly rated. Might take a trip out to test one if they are worth it. Any advice, especially on the Genz Benz stuff very appreciated.
HI Michael Drop me a PM and I'll let you have a lend of my Shuttle to A/B it all. Cheers Nick
 5.
Would a Phil Jones Suitcase be of any interest ?
Not really what I'm looking for but thank you for the offer
 6.
Yeah right Nick, I have an 18 year-old vintage feline* FT - aged blue-grey finish, starting to lack a bit of bite but still hits the high notes frequently, a few dings. Wanna meet in a car park somewhere to swap?
Sorry Clarky, the black one's definitely a keeper!
 7. I've recently been on a quest to replace my Fender US P bass, which I was having trouble hearing due to the P bass frequency. Sadly, it was by far the nicest, most comfortable bass I'd ever owned, but I wasn't prepared to have it butchered to make it more audible to me. So, after a flurry of emails, I ended up with Molan's (Barrie's) Fender US 75 Reissue Jazz on loan (hopefully long-term!) and I recorded with it last Thursday. It's an amazing bass and sounds wonderful. I'm deeply indebted to Barrie for his kindness and consideration. He truly is one of the nicest guys I've met and I'm incredibly grateful to him. I'll be even more grateful if he agrees to sell it to me I ended up trading my P Bass with Anthomp for his Stingray 5 stringer and picked it up this morning. I've just changed the strings and given it a good play and now wonder why I ever got rid of my old SR5 in the first place! It plays and sounds amazing, so thanks to Antony too. Putting both side by side, they actually look great together. It was only recently that I discovered the beauty of Natural basses and I'm definitely a convert. The black one in the middle I've owned for just over 8 years. A bit dog-eared, sometimes a bit growly and often the lead doesn't stay on, but definitely a keeper as well as being my favourite. I wouldn't be without her for all the money in the world
 8. Just met Antony at one of the M4 Services to swap my old P Bass for his Stingray 5. The bass is in immaculate condition (exactly as he described) and the deal went very smoothly. Thanks Antony and I hope you like the P Bass. I love the Ray!
 9. D'Oh!! Thanks Dood. looks like missed it. Never mind. I'd prefer a trade or something anyway
 10. Due to a change in my bass collection recently, Im now looking for an amp with 2 channels so I can set up a Passive and Active bass. I'm looking to trade my GB Shuttle 6.0 with rack mounting kit (9 months old with a few paint chips when it was used before it was rackmounted- nothing visible from the front and only cosmetic), my Korg DTR 2000 tuner (excellent condition), all mounted in a 4u Rack bag. THis is the best amp I've ever owned by far but I'm really looking for 2 channels. The sort of kit I'm looking for is an Epifani UL502, Littlemark or something similar. I can take photos if necessary, but it is exactly as described! I'm not going to split any of this as I'm really not looking for a sale (unless a UL502 comes up for sale!) Thanks for looking.
 11.
does around £25 seconhand sound reasable or too much?
I would say that sounds pretty good. A new one from some of the Ric specialists will cost 3-4 times that amount, Rosetti may be cheaper still for a brand new one.
 12.
Try contacting Rickenbacker's UK distributor, Rosetti, for spares: spares - rosetti.co.uk I've not had much dealings with them, but they've been very helpful when I have. I know they've been helpful (and reasonably priced) with spares for someone else recently.
+1 They sent me out a bridge surround (inc screws etc) and the horseshoe cover for about £45. It arrived in 2 days and was roughly £150 cheaper than any of the Ric Specialist websites were selling the same gear for. Highly recommended

 14.
Has anyone had any experience of having an Overwater bass made? They look beautiful and the chap who makes them is great and seems very passionate and knowledgable, but I just don't know much about them. I'm looking at having a bass made (not neccessarily an Overwater). I'm also interested in Hill basses, think they're a US outfit - Stefan from DMB is playing these now and I love the tone he gets on the records. Found some sort of website (http://www.hillguitars.com/) but no phone number, email contact or anything. Does anyone know anything about these? Otherwise, any other suggestions? Want something with throat and a growl but liking the idea of steering away from mainstream... Any suggestions appreciated!
Lots of love for Overwaters here and I'm pretty sure that some of the guys from Overwater are actually Forum members. Hopefull you'll have all the feedback you need from Overwater owners as and when they log on!
 15.
WHere about in surrey are you buddy?
Not far from Woking mate
 16.
Someone really needs to buy this & relieve Nick the temptation of giving it another go at his next gig, lol. Knowing Nick, as I do, I can definitely say that if he says it's a 'good 'un' then it most certainly will be
Thanks Barrie. A friend of mine has lent me a 75 Reissue Jazz bass to use tomorrow- can't wait There doesn't seem to be much P Bass love on here at the moment. It's a real shame because this really is one of the best examples I've come across. THe new model Fenders really seem to be the best basses they've made in many years.
 17.
Doh! Take care mate
Good luck with the Cab hunt too. With a bass this gorgeous I reckon the world's your Oyster
 18.
Hi Nick - wonder if you might have a light weight cab for trade plus cash to me for my very cool 2006 SR5 for which I have white and tort pick guards.(ex Mr Crow) It's mint which I'm putting up for sale at £795. Please let me know if you are interested. I have more pictures if you would like to see any. Siempre con fusion! Bill
Hi Bill- I wish I did! Wow!Unfortunately I've just sold an Epifnai UL310
 19. BUMP with a few more photos added. Hopefully they show what a beautiful colour this bass is. The swirl on the body is just a finger mark picked up by the flash
 20.
I have a Stingray that I'm not using at the moment, you're welcome to borrow it until you get sorted
Thank you Colin I'm overwhelmed by the offer of basses etc to borrow until I get it sorted. I may well take you up on your offer to really spend some time in live situations trying what works. Molam (Barrie) has kindly lent me his 75 US Reissue Jazz to try too, so it looks like I'll have a fair selection to a/b
 21. Many apologies in the lateness of my feedback Colin... Hamster bought my old US P bass oh, must be 30 years ago now (feels like it!) A top guy and highly recommended. We need to sort out a beer at some stage too!
 22. Stew bought my EMG's off me at around the time he and Mrs HH were expecting their beautiful baby. A lovely guy and I can't believe he talked his Mrs in to using "Old Horse Murphy" as a middle name
 23. Some long overdue feedback for Dave. I spent a very pleasant afteroon with Dave a few weeks ago, playing through various amp/cab combinations and swapping stories. I ended up leaving one of my cabs at Dave's and walking away with one of his! Thanks Dave for your company and your knowledge. Highly recommended
 24.
Nick - if you need a bass for Thursday then you're more than welcome to borrow anything of mine? Well, maybe not the redwood NS5XL as a) it weighs a ton & it's worth a small fortune, lol. If you want a 4 I've got the Fender J '75RI or for 5's there's either the white Overwater J or the other Spector NS5XL Both of these have 35" scale so maybe not your cup of tea (although the Overwater doesn't feel that much like a 35"). If you can get over to me some time you could have whatever for the week to get used to it too Anyway, just a thought,
I think you've got to be one of the nicest guys in the world Barrie. Thank you- I may well take you up on that offer. The reissue Jazz sounds lovely Nick
