I once got tenosynivitis when I upped my practice level and took on some new streches and techniques. (See [url="http://www.patient.co.uk/health/tendonitis-and-tenosynovitis"]http://www.patient.c...d-tenosynovitis[/url]). It's an inflammation of the tunnel that the tendon moves in, causing the tendon to travel less freely than in otherwise would do. Rest and anti-inflammatories sorted it out, and it's not been a problem since. Of course you might have a gangrenous Mount of Mercury for all I know, so best to head to the GP for a proper diagonsis.

We played a 10-song set including The Chicken and Birdland on a Dec 1st show, Jaco's birthday. Guess which songs featured my biggest flubs. Sorry JP

Sometimes! Anchoring the thumb on the pickup gets you into the habit of only playing in that position, when sometimes you'll want to favour a plucking position nearer to the bridge for your rapid-fire 16th lines, other times you'll want to pluck closer to the neck for your long rounded reggae tones. When playing away from the pickup, my thumb tends to just rest on the body of the bass, and moves up on to the E string when required.

I've managed to avoid the expenditure and stress by not having a band. First I'd be far too groomzilla about it, second wedding band fees are better spent elsewhere. And I've not seen a cliché-free wedding band setlist in forever.
