  1. I don't think it is anything too bad as its not hurting anywhere near as much today when i play, but I'm booked in to see the GP anyway. Thanks for the replies guys, i will definitely make more effort in taking care of my hands from now!
  2. Recently i have been doing a lot of exercises and stretches across the fret board to increase the strength in my little finger and i am now getting a pain that I am quite worried about. The pain is in the major knuckle almost between the two fingers (ring finger and little finger) and down the back of the hand. The other three fingers are fine and no pain occurs when i play with these but just the little finger. It feels as though i may have torn something or hopefully its just something I am over reacting about as its not causing a huge amount of pain just a certain discomfort as i play with my little finger. Has anyone experienced anything like this before and what would you suggest to help or do next? I know rest is an obvious one but would you recommend seeing a Doctor and having the problem checked out? I'm 21 and have been playing since i was 16, i know my technique is good so i don't think its that, i just think i may have over done it with my little finger as i wanted to build the strength very quickly. I also have a few gigs coming over the next few weeks.
  3. Hello I've just installed a Seymour duncan basslines sjb3 neck pickup in my mexican jazz along with my stock Fender pickup in the bridge still. I'm now getting a lot of buzz now from my bass and when i have both pup volumes 100% the bass becomes very quiet and thin, I believe the problem is because of the 2 different types of pups the have now become out of phase? Is there a way to fix this or am i going to have to buy the matching SD bridge pup to go along? 4. Im looking to buy this set up in a couple of weeks time, but firstly i know that im over powering the cab by 50w. As far as im aware i should be okay aslong as im not pushing my volume past, say... 3/4 is this correct ? Secondly i have heard much praise about the TC heads but not much about the Markbass cab. Does anyone have any comments on this cab? Or would i be better off going for one of the TC RS212 or 210's, bearing in mind ill only be running the one cab ? Im looking for the most versatile set up, playing heavy rock in my main band and also performing in function bands and other jazz/funk/blues projects. Cheers Jake
  5. haha yes a washer will do the trick ! cheers
  6. Hi I have a bit of a problem, i ordered some stagg bass strings the other day which i just brought to test my new sansamp out with. When they came, i went to restring my bass and i noticed the ball at the bottom of the string was too small to stop the string from slipping out of the bridge so i wasn't able to restring. I can't see why i had a problem, i have a mexican standard jazz so all should be fine there, has anyone else had anything like this? Is there a way i can still use the strings? Also what is that metal hoop at the bottom of a string called? Jake
