  1. This is a very interesting point you’ve raised, but not necessarily one I have an answer to. Our keys player nominated me to do one of those ‘post an album that influences you each day for 10 days’ things on Facebook around the time of the original lockdown. I decided 10 albums wasn’t enough and 240 days later, I’m still doing it every single day. I’m going to do 365. It’s been an interesting routine and has led me to listen and read about a lot of the artists and albums I love. Most are albums I play quite often anyway, but quite a few are ones on vinyl that I’ve had to blow the dust off. Yesterday’s choice was nearly Rossini, but ended up being The Kinks. I can’t explain why I like either, but I know I do. I’m also aware that others may not and that’s just fine. That’s the beauty of music. NB: The process has also sent me down some interesting ‘rabbit holes’. Example - I have always liked Thompson Twins and they were my daily selection a few days ago. I was, however, unaware that Tom Bailey was making music again. This led me to listen to his recent (2018) solo album ‘Science Fiction’. Absolutely love it.
  2. Yes, I've had that happen to me once. I think Paypal dropped themselves in the doo doo a while back for not having measures in place to prevent money laundering. Unfortunately, the measures they now have in place puts everyone under scrutiny and as frustrating as it is, there's no way of hurrying them. There wasn't for me anyway. Yes, I try and avoid that, but choose to do it on a case by case basis. Just have to be nosey with their history first I think.
  3. INERTIA was made for @Kev and I bought it off him. It's a wicked good pedal and would recommend it to anyone looking for some decent fuzz sounds. https://www.cogeffects.co.uk/inertia.php
  4. 3M Dual Lock is not known for coming off that easily. I think I would be concerned about the finish on my basses. I tried to remove some from the back of a pedal I was selling and was a heck of job to get it off. Even when I did, it left a hefty bit of residue behind. EDIT: Doesn't it get in the way when you're playing standing up? I think it would for me.
  5. Might I suggest that it is replaced with something that doesn't compress. If it's been there forever, it's probably not going to get any flatter, but it's just something to think about. https://www.stewmac.com/tonewoods/electric-bass-bodies-and-necks-and-wood/bass-necks/stewmac-neck-shims-for-bass.html
  6. Unapologetic Basschat Straplock Promo? 😂 Lovely ‘Ray.
  7. I can’t promise I’ll be able to do anything with it, but worth a fresh set of eyes on it maybe. PM me mate. I go over the Bas occasionally, so might be passing you at some point.
  8. Shotgate - between Wickford and Rayleigh.
  9. Bought a CV body from Paul. Arrived super quickly and was as described. Thoroughly recommended. Thanks again.
  10. I've recently bought two looms from John. Super easy to deal with and loads of free advice to make sure I was buying exactly what I needed. Thanks again.
  11. Bought an amp from Paul. Super quick delivery and exactly as described. Super easy to deal with and an all round top bloke. Thanks mate 👍
  12. Struggling to think of a way that New Order’s new single could be any more crap. Truly dreadful.

That is almost exactly word for word what I said out loud when DJ said what it was after playing it. Glad I’m not the only one.

Not great, but if you don't listen to the lyrics it's at least not that far off from Electronic.

  13. I’m in Essex. Happy to take a look at it for you mate.
  14. Another time and I would have that off you in a shot Andy, but I’d have to sell to buy and I’m happy with my lot at the moment. I’m sure it won’t be around long at that price. Buy with confidence people. Great bass & great seller.
  15. Hell is just any bass guitar show I’ve ever been to 😂
  16. I would expect a few of those lots have reserve’s on them and the low starting prices are there to lure people in. Cornford and Soldano make great amps.
  17. It sounds great anyway, but The Boss says.... “It’s the only album where it’s the entire band playing at one time, with all the vocals and everything completely live. The record is the first record that I’ve made where the subject is the music itself... It’s about popular music. It’s about being in a rock band, over the course of time. And it’s also a direct conversation between me and my fans, at a level that I think they’ve come to expect over the years.” Wow!
  18. What I've heard so far on the radio I have really liked. Just listening to the full album now.
  19. Yes, me too. Took forever to get it built, but the wait was worth it. I’m going to have to be seriously impressed to feel the need to replace/upgrade it. Enjoy your pedal @s1m0n and let us know how you get on 👍
  20. That’s weird. If it was the person you sent it to, surely they would be aware you would spot the knobs had vanished? Or were they banking on the fact that the bass wouldn’t make it back to you? You couldn’t make it up could you.
  21. I would advise everyone to follow this example - skip to 12:55
  22. Yes. Possibly the last place on Earth I would hand my Stingray over to. I might, after careful consideration, let them have a go at setting up a couple of my ‘air guitars’, but they would probably fnck that up!
  23. Yeah, let it settle and go back to it. Completely different strings/tensions. Where are you based?
