  1. I'd be very tempted if that was in the UK.
  2. Volume 5 has just been announced as a pre-order this morning. The vinyl has sold out already, but there are a few CD's left. It is the Paris gig from '99 called 'Something In The Air' which is already available to stream.
  3. @The fasting showman - no apology necessary. It's all good as far as I'm concerned 👍
  4. I would prefer a 4 string, but yes, a lovely looking bass.
  5. Yes, it was. Had my chance. Missed it.
  6. I don't mind telling you that this took some finding. As previously mentioned, I did think we had previously published this track, but when I searched our You Tube channel, I couldn't find it. I think we decided not to publish as it went a bit wonky towards the end. That said, it's fitting tribute to Big Kev who has supported us since Day 1. It's the one and only time we have performed it.
  7. I curse myself daily for not buying this bass when I had the chance ☹️
  8. Listening to it again now, I'm lobbying for Teenage Wildlife when we next get in a room together - and we haven't even done The Laughing Gnome yet!!
  9. It's an almost impossible task keeping up with all the Bowie related bits and pieces that pop up on You Tube. Individual songs from The White Room have popped up before, but there's now a proper 'soundboard mix' of all the songs from that show that has appeared, including Teenage Wildlife. It does, as you say, sound 'meaty', but I think it's all the better for it. I'm ripping that tomorrow for sure.
  10. Bought tickets to see Kiss to see a new band called Bon Jovi 😎
  11. I've considered not taking any amps (and doing a Geddy) more times than I've considered taking a back-up amp (never). I've only ever had an issue with one amp many years ago and it was a particularly tempremental bugger. On the two occasions it quit on me, we were in a theatre venue and was easily bypassed.
  12. Yes, I know what you mean about Quicksand. Cracking song. We used it as an opener ourselves once for a very dear friend who comes to all our gigs. I can’t remember whether the video is still on our channel. The recording didn’t come out that well as I recall. We used the White Room version of Boys Keep Swinging as a template for what we do. Kicks derrière that one. I like Hours, but then I like Tin Machine as well and that doesn’t tend to go down too well in the Bowie fandom 😂.
  13. I’ve just finished listening to disc 1 of the Phoenix set and it’s excellent apart from Under Pressure which sounds a bit loose. Also love what they did with Driftin’ Blues into The Jean Genie. I liked the way they started gigs on this tour. Quicksand is a great low key opener and it goes into the revamped TMWSTW which is equally subdued.
  14. Yes, Teenage Wildlife was pretty much ignored until the Outside Tour. It was performed quite regularly throughout it though.
  15. Have now secured a copy of this from a very nice chap called Gary in London. Small world, but he knows our singer from seeing the previous incarnation of our current Bowie tribute.
  16. Right tools for the job I'm afraid. If you're going to be playing those types of tunes and you want to do it authentically, you'd be best getting a fiver. That said, I find some tunes easier to play in drop D on a four, like Beat It for example. Judging by that video, you'll pick both up in no time.
  17. Far too many to choose from. In the interest of picking a few names that haven’t already been mentioned: Phil Collins, Chester Thompson, Chad Wackerman or Jean-Paul Gaster.
  18. Sorry to hear of your health issues and even more so that it’s caused an end to your playing. I remember when you first got this and how impressed you were with it.
  19. Ah, big fan of The Band here. I must give this a listen. Thanks for the tip 👍.
  20. I’m with you there @Rich. I’m not terribly taken with the shape, but I could live with it and that buckeye WITH the blue just doesn’t work for me in any way. The blocks would also annoy me as I’m quite partial to no markings on the face of the fretboard and if I was ordering a custom, that’s what I would specify. Hipe you enjoy your new bass.
  21. I hear you loud and clear brother. There are far cheaper alternatives to Apple, BUT, I really can’t talk. I’m pretty much fully converted to Apple - in fact, the whole house is. The knack to keeping ahead of the curve is updating the iPad fairly regularly and selling the old stuff before it represents too much of a financial loss. It’s at a cost, but it gives me piece of mind. I know where everything is, it’s secure, it’s backed up and I literally use my pad for everything. Rehearsing (plugged into a Bass Buddy), sheet music (OnSong), recording through Garage Band, sharing music/docs via Dropbox and very occasionally looking at Basschat 😂. It’s sad, but I would feel like I had lost a limb without it.
  22. You’ve fallen into the classic trap of thinking that I’m generalising when in fact I’m being specific about one particular female. Feel free to take it up with her. I wish you good luck.
  23. Me not long and by accident £1000
