2. wish i could afford one as they seem to be very good
3.
Where is the jazz in jazz metal?
try 'Step In Fluid" its not all jazz but has jazz elements, some more jazz than others
4. i'm essentislly in number 3 except we're not a startup, been going for about 8 years. work commitments mean we cant practice more than we do and we take what gigs we can get off our own back, we do it for fun but bedroom boys we aint, we take it very seriously as if the audience doesnt enjoy it then we dont enjoy it so its got to be good. We recently played a well known venue in our area and got a better reaction than some of the more established bands that play there from all accounts. but what do i know i'll get back in my room
5.
Black Coffee, I will enjoy it thanks. Gotta sort the action and strings out. String tension is really high and it's hurting to play with these old Rotos on!
never played one of these but looks quite nice though historically i've not quite got the look of these basses. i think i used those strings for a while but they were terribly rough and harsh on your fingers and the arse dropped out of them very quickly
6.
After 10 years of obsessing about the weight of basses, I have established beyond any shadow of a doubt that heavy basses weigh more than light basses. Weight has nothing to do with quality and [lights blue touchpaper] precious little to do with tone. It follows that it always makes sense to buy the lightest bass that also sounds good to your ears.
doesnt a heavy bass have more heft?
7. Sold a Musicman Stingray 2band natural/maple with mutes, bought it in 93, then had to sell it for a rediculously small amount to a music shop because clean clothes were more important, still gutted but had to be done
8. knobby knob knob looks nice though
9. you gotta live with it and be happy seen with it so yeah looks matter buts its got to play well too
10. the manual says this "Speaker Output Jack - The internal speaker is normally connected to this standard unbalanced ¼” jack. Note: Because of the high power levels and low frequency content of the signal generated by the Kickback amplifier, we recommend the use of the provided internal speaker only. If you do wish to connect an external speaker, use only appropriately rated 4 ohm speaker cabinets that are specifically designed for bass instruments. " so i would think from that it is a 4ohm speaker inside
11. will it make women touch me cock?
12. straddling is always preferable to just laying on top of each other
13. yeah its certainly not for jaming, its a pro level amp really. but the berg would have handled it at reasonable volumes
14. as long as you dont crank the volume too high it should be fine, use your ears to judge it
15. just watched interactive guitar mags review of the RM800 and i'm leaning further that way tbh im suprised no one has said anything about theampeg potaflex, geuss they're not all that
16. i'm fully aware of the try before you buy but thats just a little difficult unless i make a day out out of it. i was under the impression the RM800 had the ashdown sound. should also mention that we play classic rock covers so the amp should fit to that.
17. cheers lozz, thats pretty much what i was thinking. tempted by one of those ABMs but the extra power of the RM is nagging at me. just seen a Little Mark III 800 for nearly half price at GAK, no idea what they are like though
18. soo... my mag 300 failed during our gig on saturday, the Di still worked (fortunately as it was going through FOH) but the output was almost completely silent so it going to the amp tech but i've had it a while and its faired well so time for something new and an upgrade to boot. My initial thoughts were for the Ashdown Rootmaster RM 800, mertons review had alot to do with that and i like the ashdown sound that i got from my mag 300. I was pretty much decided then made the fatal error of 'just' having a look at other amps in the same price range which brought up the TC BH800. Slightly less tone controls but has the toneprint function which seems good though only having 1 patch on at a time is a little limited, sounds pretty good from the clips ive heard. theres also the portaflex Ampeg 800 which again is similar in on board controls though i have no experience of ampeg sounds. it will be going into my ashdown mag 4x10 (8ohm) so was i right to start with or should i stray from the ashdown path? and are there any other options i havent thought of yet? thanks in advance
19.
I dunno, the Great British Bake Off finishes and everyone gets antsy.
