1. been thinking about getting some decent lighting for our lot, all we have at the moment is 2 banks of 4 coloured spots, one of which no longer 'listens' and is just on crazy speed all the time. dont even know what DMX is
2. solid would suit me as would tight
3.
When, little hen? When, when, when will you lay me an egg for my tea?
urgh you make tea out of eggs? think youre doing it wrong mate
4. Duff McCagan (he started it for me) Flea Les Claypool Trevor Dunn Billy Gould Geddy Lee Dominic 'Forest' Lapointe Sting Linus Klausenitzer Erlend Caspersen Stuart Zender could have added more but ten it is
5. "cant you just DI out of my amp rather than modelling the f*** out of it"
6. more of an F fart, nice bassline, the songs not my cup of tea though. Played on a P bass i'd imagine (or something of that ilk)
7. the RM sounds ace, just the sort of thing to upgrade from my MAG 300 (which i love the tone of) has anyone had the chance to compare the Rootmaster to the Toneman?
8.
Do remember to wrap it in tin foil first ...
what? your trousers? i get cramp in my fingering hand (ooh er matron) when we play dizzie miss lizzie but thats cos its is very repetitive movements at a bit of a stretch, never got it in my plucking hand though +for hydration and warm ups
9. i bought the FENDER GOLD SERIES 12' BASS Guitar cable which has been excellent, though i cant seem to find them online, they are only 12ft though one straight jack one angled
10. Groove is in the Heart - Dee lite Wishing Well - Free
11. gotta be clean, i dont spend a load of money on a bass for it to look like a dogs dinner, wear and tear is fine (well just a little bit) but goop is just lazy and rank
12.
I think the intention was to say that, in basic harmony, each note letter should occur once, and once only, to make reading much easier. If there's already a 'B', for instance, a 'Bb' would be best written as 'A#'. If there's already a 'D', a 'C#' would be preferable to a 'Db'. This way there are no duplicates of the scale notes. There are, of course, exceptions, such as the complete chromatic scale, but they're not considered as 'simple' scales. Hope this helps.
ta, i think i can play the song (with protests ignored) just dont know the notes, and as i dont write music knowing theory isnt important ( time constraints also mean learning is difficult) i'd love to know it as noodling would be easier
13.
Just for reference: the general rule is that, in simple harmony, every scale should have an A B C D E F and a G. The OP's description of a sequence of notes as C#, C and A# is not 'wrong' but it is clumsy. It is better to think of the sequence as Db, C and Bb. Same notes but easier to read on a written score (less accidentals etc) and less confusing. The theory doesn't work with the G, G# and A because that is not a diatonic sequence but a riff the climbs in semitones (i.e. the parent 'scale' is changing with each chord)
eh? duh
14.
Thanks, So it says "Please note that polyphonic tuning is only available for guitar. If you select Bass Needle Mode or Bass Strobe Mode, polyphonic tuning is dis-abled." Sorry
no worries, thought i was going mental or there was some instructions even smaller that i hadnt read
15. i hate playing that song why would i want to spend time disecting it (apart from the fact that my theory is absolute pants)
16.
Strobe Mode does not work on Bass If you get a very powerful telescope & read the stupidly minuscule instructions they supply it tells you there. B
hmmm ive checked that, the only mode that doesnt work with bass is the polyphonic as far as i can tell, would seem a bit daft that you can set it to bass mode which has strobe and chromatic modes available but strobe doesnt work, guess i'll find out tonight
17. mines got a nice semi matt finish, more matt than not (also an excuse to post it again )
18.
Very pleased with mine too now I've worked out how to switch it out of disco strobe mode...
just received mine so i'll test it tonight isnt the strobe mode the most accurate though?
19. just gone for a 5 string and the difference in spacing is very noticeable, my SR500 4 string is 19mm and my SR1805 is 16.5mm, taking a bit of getting used too but its not too bad, certainly nowhere near as difficult as i expected, i do trip over my fingers sometimes and miss strings as they arent where my brain expects them to be but i can get through our sets without too many tears
20. ooh, also Mother of Violence by peter Gabriel, does me in everytime https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZ-bq4E2AKc
