  3. Italia Maranello Cavo Bass – Pre-Owned £899.00 Italia Maranello Cavo Bass - Translucent Cacao Used – Excellent Price£985 + £15 Delivery I was surprised to see that Bass Direct has a bass identical to mine up for sale. It's second hand and they are asking £899.00 for it. The same guitar is for sale on the Reverb site for £985 + £15 Delivery. It is the same bass because Reverb list the seller as Bass Direct. I bought my Italia Maranello Cavo Bass just over 5 years ago for £670.00 - new. I'm stunned that a second hand one is now around £1000! It's a great little bass but not at that price. I can't find any dealer that has new ones in stock so I can only guess what they cost now. I must take better care of it!
  4. Had this a year or two, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tremendous depth and flexibility for ambient stuff. Home use only, in 'showroom' condition. Comes with the Mooer Air Switch, allowing more control. £160 plus recorded delivery gets it to you in bombproof packaging.
  5. From the not wanting something with a lot of upkeep/that can’t be fixed comments I’d look at Ashdown, especially as you’re in Essex (as are they). In my opinion Fender & Ashdown work very well together. But I’d def look at used gear, really maximise your options.
  6. Hello, I'm new here so please be gentle with me! I've been playing for about 30 years but never been much into "gear" (don't hurt me)..had the same Trace Elliot GP7 with a Marshall 1550 cab (yeah, I know) most of that time, but they both finally blew up before a gig last week. I have a Vintera Mustang and a Warwick Fortress 1 5 string, play mainly function gigs (with PA that has sub) and the odd bit of blues. Want something pretty small and light if possible. Longevity/reliability is also a high priority.. I don't want something with a lot of upkeep or that can't be fixed if needs be. I'm in Essex, and would also like to be able to try before I buy, in London is possible. Any suggestions please? I have a few ideas but I'll see what you say first.. thanks!
  7. I too enjoyed it but was slightly miffed that it wasn’t quite what the trailers portrayed which seemed more about the birth of the British ska scene. Enjoyed the acting though. Especially Lady Mary Crawley as the alcoholic mum with the voice of an angel!
  8. TC Electronic SUB 'N' UP MINI OCTAVER - £40 Delivered in UK. Lovely sounding octaver but I slightly prefer my EBS Octabass. In pristine condition. I can't find the box but it will be very well packed for delivery.
  9. Would love to know what you think of the BP1-BC1 combo
  10. Love mine, super funky and musical
  11. I've never played a Kingston, but if they're anything like my Grendel, they'll be very nice. I did hear a Kingston being played live in a band on a French camp site in Brittany back in 2023. It sounded fantastic.

  19. It can be a real challenge to get good gear for a limited amount of cash. When I started gigging again after a long hiatus, I had a Hartke Kickback…120 watts through 1 12. Good practice and rehearsal amp. Next was a great deal on my Trace rig..smt 11 head..400 watts, a 4x10, and a 15”. Cabs are pretty shabby but sound good…just really heavy. Now I’m moving to 2 1x12 Genz Benz cabs, . If those work out, I’ll sell the 410 cab, refurb the 15, and should be ready for anything. Trace rig was £250, 2 GB cabs are 280….you don’t need to spend a ton to get good gear. I am going to spend some cash getting a tune up on the Trace head, though.
  20. A working band has "consumer" rights? Not likely. If a store buys a TV to use to play video and it dies prematurely that's tough luck.
