  2. I have a Mex P/J Mustang which is a damn good bass. My Danelectro Longhorn though...... I'm playing it all the time. I absolutely love the weight, balance, feel and sound of it. I'm mostly gigging my shortscales now. I haven't even picked up my beloved Fiesta Red Fender P for a while.
  3. I'm thinking of putting some lightweight tuners on my Silver Series P (pic below). Before I start dismantling things, does anyone happen to know the diameter of the hole in the headstock and whether the bushing is rebated or just sits in the top of a 'straight through' hole? The bushings are quite compact with in inside diameter of 12.2mm and outside diameter of 18mm. I'm guessing the hole is somewhere between 14mm and 16mm, which narrows down the replacement options somewhat (I don't think there's an exact drop-in replacement), but it would be good to know for sure before I start messing around. I know that changing tuners isn't always as easy as it might seem! Thanks for any input.
  4. Up for sale is my much loved DI 2112. For those unaware, essentially it is two SansAmp RPM preamps being run in parallel: the "Deep" and the "Drive". Deep is preset to a solid thick clean sound (with a saturation control), and the Drive section is the full RPM preamp. This then feeds 5 outputs (Deep XLR, Deep 1/4", Drive XLR, Drive 1/4", 1 pass through/tuner out) giving lots of routing options. You can also combine the two sections within the pedal via a little switch accessible through the battery compartment (it runs off of 2 x 9v, or an 18v DC input - not included). It's a really versatile preamp, not just for Geddy style rush sounds - one of my favourite sounds is to set the Drive section to be "mids only" - kill the bass and treble, push the mids and the drive to give a really creamy mid-range, but still leaving the clarity from the Deep section. There are also various switches (mute, pad etc.), but the best is the "tight" switch, which just turns the drive into a super focused sound. So why am I selling given how good this is? I've moved to a Quad Cortex setup, and as much as I love running this in parallel I just can't justify it. I've also go another little one on the way, and I could do with the extra cash! It's in near perfect condition (other than the velcro on the bottom, which I can remove if you like), with the original box. I can post for an additional £10, or collection from East Grinstead.
  5. I keep telling myself that I’m completely happy with my MXR M87 and I am, but the new upgrades on the Cali are proving a good argument for a big upgrade.
  6. That is in no way a Yamaha, except for the neck. New body, those black stripes on the fingerboard were added later... A cheap (but good) RBX neck from the 80s and a homemade body. Looks very cool, though. EDIT: On second thought, the pickups are most definitely Yamahas too.
  7. Bought new a couple of years ago because I fancied a 5 string. Since then it has spent most of its time in a gig bag in the cupboard. In unmarked condition (it has done one gig and had light home use) and zero fret wear. 34" scale, Bartolini mk 1 p/us and pre', Hipshot bridge and tuners. A nice instrument, but I never use it and find a 4 string more than adequate for what I do. These are around £800 new, so half that seems a fair price. Wearing little used EB Cobalt Flats, which are around £60 a set. You're welcome to PM me (sensible) offers. Would prefer collection (I'm between Basingstoke and Winchester in Hants), but will post at cost. I estimate that will be around £25. Photos below. Any questions, ask away.
  8. I should mention - this is actually an issue. The tolex cover and handle are not very good for keeping the head in-place. I have some black foam that I put under mine to stop the head from moving purely through the vibration of the cab, there have got to be more elegant solutions but mine works! Otherwise, I always wrap the cable (Pedals > Amp) around the back so anything out the front is floor level and less likely to end up dragging the amp to the floor.
  9. Electro Harmonix Superego sustainer pedal. Many options for freezing a note and adding additional effects via the built-in loop. Excellent pedal, just not getting any use right now. Very good, fully working condition. Velcro on back, and just a hint of residue from a previous label on the front. This hasn’t damaged any of the finish though. £150 posted
  10. Hi. It’s from 2001. Not sure about Warwick’s different necks/dates, but the nut (just replaced with a brand new genuine brass one) is 38.5mm. Feels petty skinny and fast to me, but then I play a fiver mostly. cheers.
  11. I installed the drivers for my GX on my work laptop so that when we have company wide briefings, I can route the teams audio out the headphone jack and noodle away 😅
  12. Fender / Sunn SR8520P powered mixer: 8 balanced mic inputs (with switchable phantom power) / 8 line inputs 1 stereo aux line input built in reverb and monitor channel (line output) 9 band graphic eq Compressor / limiter on main output Rated at 520W into 2 ohms In good working condition, recently serviced and PAT tested. A good workhorse ideal for a rehearsal room or for small gigs.
  13. Looks like a home constructed cab fitted with 4 8" big cat speakers (believed to be made for Maplin by Eminence). 8 ohms impedance and probably rated at 100 to 200W. In good condition with heavy duty plastic corners and folding handles on the side. Not particularly heavy for such a big cab. Single TS jack on the back. I'm open to offers.
  14. Hey sorry about the very late reply but no significant noise from the fan at all. My valve amp is noisier.

I see a few questions on spray painting enclosures. I find the MTN94 graffiti paint works really well with very little prep. Depending on the enclosure you may need to use a degreaser but otherwise there's no need to sand the case before or during coats. To get a nice shiny finish I get a good wet spray of their glossy varnish. I use a toaster oven for each coat but it will also dry pretty well in a few days on its own.
  16. Just bought an Xvive IEM system from Paul. Couldn’t have been easier. Prompt comms and postage. Item is as new as described. Perfect!
  17. And I've got some great news! I see the schematics found on the Web aren't exact. I luckily have another boxer PJ (one 2021' reissue) sitting here for my recordings, so I decided to open its cavity and figure out what it is like under the lid. As I am a newbie in electronics, it was hard for me to tell exactly what I found. I just marked the parts and wires visually. I see there are some wire tubes containing one white wire (I suppose it's signal/hot?) and another bare wire (grounding wire?), and there are also single white wires coming from small holes that lead to the pickups, probably signal wires taking their signal. And some thin black wires also. The TBX is a bit different from the one Fender offers currently. Maybe because that one is from Japan, so manufactured there? Two parts are definitely there: one 0.022 uF Capacitor labeled '223K' (for treble rolloff of the tone knob I suppose?) and one 82K resistor (took longer to decode, because it uses coloured bars I had to search what they mean), both soldered into the TBX tone pot in their distinct positions. And now by replicating the reissue Boxer circuit, I got the serial wiring back in place. I can be totally wrong, but I suppose the serial connection is a kind of 'two-way exchange' between the pickups - they both have a ground wire that will meet the other pickups' signal wire ahead in the pickup selector? At least that's what it seems, but never to be taken literally, because I will check everything until I get all reliable info. And what a difference it makes! I can hear it. It's quite growly. And in PJ blend settings, one volume pot can cancel the signal altogether if set to zero, as expected. There's still some work to be done on the frets - they are basically dead. Once it gets past the fretwork I will be happy to share some recordings. I might also share the schematics so other fans of the Boxer PJ will be able to replicate factory settings too if they wish to, except it will be in portuguese instead of german 🙂 Ok, I might take some time translating that into english too.
  18. Rackmount autotune. Barely used. Price includes uk delivery. I’m not sure where I’ve put the box
  19. £1000 for this week. this needs to go now, as i am up against this surgery. grab a bargain!
  20. Updated board. Graphic EQ out and Cali76 in. Also pulled the Sledgehammer so I have easier access to the front row while trying to sing and play bass at the same time. Meathead also reversed for easier access. Will this alone for a while but always a possibility of a Rat or Muff type getting squeezed in there again.
