  2. As someone who was born and raised in rural America, lived in both the Midwest and Texas, I am at a bit of a loss to discover what the heck "Americana" really is. Best definition I have seen is "a fusion of all American forms of music", which could also be rock, country, blues, etc. Is this just another attempt to subdivide music into yet another category that doesn't really exist? Is it that some folks are just ashamed of real country music, or real bluegrass music? Who inspires Americana? Alison Krause? B.B King? Carlos Santana? George Strait? I would love to be educated, please......
  3. Yes. There'll be more new models later this year.
  4. My mate's bluegrass band seems quite busy - although it's strictly second job territory. Not really my cup of cha but whatever floats your boat https://www.thedustbowlsinners.com/
  5. Damn your eyes. The fact that I'm having to replace the preamp in my Sire means I'm not going to be able to give into the GAS for a little while longer.
  6. 20240426_210741.heicFirst version of this awesome pedal. A bit of light wear and tear on the casing but works perfectly. The foam tabs on the back were removed by a previous owner and does have some velcrow on the back (easily removed). Postage included in the price. Now £80!
  7. https://guitarinteractivemagazine.com/review/gr-bass-pure-drive/ Product Description The Pure Drive is a decidedly versatile Preamp designed for the most demanding bass players but suitable for everyone thanks to its ease of use that allows you to always have all the characteristics of the GR sound in ultra-compact size. The Pure Drive is equipped with a 4 band eq with 4 selectable frequencies on the mids and deep and bright filters. Furthermore, it is completed by an “Overdrive” section which, with its volume and dedicated drives, will allow you to obtain light saturations up to massive distortions. The Pure Drive is also a professional tuner with display and a D.I. All the components are carefully selected to offer a top product. It is completely made in Italy and is designed and built by a bassist for bass players. Fantastic versatile preamp pedal. Boxed near mint. Only 5 months old.

  10. Cheers, if it wasn’t for my EBS Stanley Clarke pre being necessary on my board (as I double on EUB) then this would be staying with me.

  12. I’d throw it under the bed and consider keeping it for another ten years. Who knows what these will be worth.
  13. Congratulations on the Dolphin. Here's mine.
  14. I play in an old-time Appalacian band called East Creek Union. We've played at Red Rooster, the sadly defunct Orwell Bluegrass festival and Folk East. This year we're doing Maverick. Red Rooster in particular has a very wide ranging definition of "Americana" encompassing old-time, bluegrass, country, blues, rockablilly, new orleans style street jazz, country rock and people like Pokey Lafarge who dont' really fit into any category. I like going to Red Rooster, I hear a lot of acts there I wouldn't otherwise come across. The UK America Music Association who I believe are invoved in booking acts for Red Rooster and maybe other festivals too. We certainly can't get a sniff despite having played there in the past. They have slots at certain events for members to apply. I was thinking about joining, but I don't like the T's and C's which require you to sign up to a Continuous Payment Authoritty (CPA), I'm not keen on that idea.

  16. @AndyTravis is one of may favourite people here on #basschat. He insisted on paying me for my acoustic pre-amp which I was perfectly happy for him to keep hold of it to try out for a while, that's the kind of straight up guy he is. If you ever have cause to trade here on the marketplace with Andy do so with complete confidence!
  17. Here's my lightly used Sennheiser E865 vocal microphone with soft case. Some very slight marks as can be seen (just) in the photos. Price includes for UK delivery. Here's the specs - Sennheiser New these are around £200 - Thomann
  18. After getting some guidance from a member here I have refined the pricing for the connectors. I'd originally checked RS components where I had bought them new but after a check around the £ varies quite widely depending on supplier, the cheapest tending to be DV-27. Also I learned to spell Neutrik correctly Open to offers / bulk etc. I have just gone through a lot of my studio / PA gear and removed the excess insert and patch cables etc. and have gathered together quite a collection of connectors. Some of the items are brand new never been used but all are in great condition and fully functional. Most are Neutric but some are Deltron (which seem to cost 50% more than Neutric equivalent). Anyway, I've re-priced them and could be persueded to a bulk buy reduction. Postage would be based on how many and destination. The table below gives as much info on model / style as I know. The difference between the NC3FX style 1 and 2 seems to only be the cable gland design.
