    I spotted a Washburn A10 guitar on FB marketplace for £80. The guy selling it was clearly not short of a few quid so I didn't feel bad at all when I sold it for 5 times as much.

    Picked up a Cry Baby at a local hose clearance place for £3. Exchanged next day at a Brighton guitar shop for a set of D'addario chrome bass strings. I have no idea how I disposed of my 1970s Electro Harmonix Poly chorus, but I know I wouldn't have sold it for much.

    PS give serious consideration to a series/parallel switch as this adds versatility (every jazz bass should have one!). Coupled with a stacked vol/tone vol/tone configuration (why have one tone control when you can have two) and you'll have the widest tonal palette for something that is still passive.

    Saw them a few years ago and that bass of his sounded phenominal. I had the ES-335 and can agree that it is a superb bass.

    I wonder if replacing the bridge with a Badass or Kickass might be a worthy upgrade. Those stock bridges are quite poor.

    Unfortunately, I'm going to have to return the Hotone pedal. It has an intermittent fault with the dial at the top, it sometimes fails to register the transition between positions 1 and 2. Sometimes it stays on 2 when you turn it to 1, and sometimes it stays on 1 when you turn it to 2. Bummer. I'm going to give a replacement unit a chance because I do like it. If it happens again then I'll be out. Can't work with it if I can't reliably know which pitch it's in - especially at a gig.

    Picture says it all really. Straight swap for a Fender Precision/Jazz style bridge. Recently acquired on a bass, but I prefer the 203, so it's getting one of those. £25 delivered.
