  1. Past hour
  2. I have this model. The finish is lovely, the weight and balance are great and people always comment positively when I gig it. Buy with confidence @neepheid is a great guy and this is a lovely instrument.
  3. Just went and watched some vids of the show on YT. I guess the pictures I saw must have been old, Andy was definitely playing a sunburst P (and had shorter hair than the pics where he was playing the Burns). Andy's actually a bloody good musician, his guitar work in Ride was excellent, and, frankly, he's a bit wasted in Oasis. But the pay is probably far, far better!
  4. Loved the stream yesterday. Really awesome day and I thought the sound quality was ace. Bit of an abrupt edit though as I think geezer and Toni brought out a cake for Ozzy. Felt like a proper send off, those riffs are timeless and geezer is incredible as ever.
  5. I have an Ashdown CTM 100 and an SVT CL The main and massively important difference is weight. The SVT is a heavy, heavy beast. Sound wise, and this is just my opinion, nothing on earth compares with an SVT. It has to be that good or no one would ever bother to lift one. It's a bigger, louder amplifier than the CTM but there is a bigger CTM you can buy. The Ashdown is a beautiful amp, but the SVT is an experience.
  6. Or they could have been replaced?
  7. @Lozz196 the pics I’ve seen look like a 68-74 sunburst P
  8. Only recently got this as I've wanted to try one for a while as a possibly workhorse for a function band. These are great basses but I don't think its the one for me at the moment. Really good quality and nice feel to it, and a good B string. Weighs in at around 4.3kgs. In great condition, only 1 mark on the body, the scratch plate and rear panel still have the cellophane on them. Could be interested in trades for 4 or 5 strings. Would prefer collection from Chelmsford, comes with a good Yamaha gig bag but I don't currently have packing material to ship. Any questions please ask!

  9. Time to move this on. This is a Gear4Music LA Select bass. It is a P bass, with a bound body, 21 fret lightly roasted maple neck. Comes with the originally supplied gig bag (not a fantastic bag, but it's better than nothing). Yes, new, they are £150. But, hear me out - this one comes with the following: A Lace Aluma P pickup Grover mini tuners (the stock tuners were garbage - I wouldn't inflict that on anyone - they went straight in the bin) A triple string retainer The ratty fret ends taken care of I'll even throw in a generic split P pickup if you want to steal the Lace for something else. Would prefer a local sale (ha, Aberdeen, good luck with that), but can post at buyer's expense.
  10. There is a single surprise minor chord in there, toward the end. Fall asleep during verse 3, and you'll miss it. And the right rhythm is important - get it wrong and you'll sound like the Sunday Strummers Ukulele Club. Ask me how I know...
  11. Am heartily fed up of eBay tyre kickers with 78 questions/requests who then disappear .... So to keep this in BC community, £50 price cut to £700 (plus 24 or 48 hour economy delivery at cost - £15/20 or thereabouts). PS. The DiMarzio Ultra Jazz noiseless pickups alone cost £150 a set ...
  12. Opposite happened to me, punk band, Precision with new steel rounds into driven Sansamp, engineer proudly advised after gig how he’d had real trouble getting a Motown sound from my signal but after a lot of work he’d managed it! Back on track, yeah I suppose the bass isn’t particularly prominent in Oasis but it has to be there, interesting to see the choice made about gear selected for a foundational role rather than cutting through.
  13. They look a bit like the wavy Grover's they used on 4001's. Could it be an old 4001?
  14. Haha .. How many times have I heard that from the punters. On the other hand I did a festival years back and you could have sworn I was playing an Alembic with fresh rounds. I was actually playing an old P bass with very dead Chromes. FOH will do with us as they see fit.,
  15. Those newer Bisons have a certain bite that's quite distinctive. Could barely hear him in the footage I've seen though. There was bass, but it was kinda mushy. Nobody goes to an Oasis show to watch the bass player though.
  16. Id love this back, but due to my current circumstances its not possible 😞
  17. Tis indeed a great filter.
  18. Up for grabs are a trio of amplitube pedals in excellent boxed as new condition. X-Vibe modulation X-Time delay X-Space reverb They come with the plugin versions of the units so you can get your exact plugin sounds in pedal form for live sets. Amplitube are really smashing everything out the park these days and these units are no exception. They sound superb. Thanks for looking. £165 each. posted to your door.
  19. unless you can tell a difference from hearing gig or recording does it matter? amused me that the Rod Stewart bassist used 3 basses at Glastonbury and you could hardly hear him, never mind tell any difference between them I used a different bass at one of our gigs, I said to my partner afterwards how it sounded, she replied "It sounded like a bass!" 😂
  20. Another Hiromi Trio Project part, this is the complete Anthony Jackson performance of the tune 'Temptation' from the 2011 'Voice' album. Fairly accessible but you will need a low B to play the chart as is (if you haven't, just transpose the low notes up an octave). https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/temptation-hiromi-uehara/
  21. Yes. Many people were suggesting there were clauses written into contracts in the event of Liam and Noel having a bust up before the tour was done.
  22. Still remember the first time I heard War Pigs, what a band
  23. He used to be fond of old Burns and Eko basses, as well as sometimes playing a Fender P. From the limited number of non-Liam-and-Noel pics I've seen of the Cardiff show, he was playing his black Burns Bison.
