Really? You don't go to a show to sell 12. He'd do that on reputation alone. He also says in the video that this is the production model. What's you basis for this?

Have you got a link to the weeds tracks you did ? I know I’ve got them somewhere but can’t find them ! Lurksalittle is in town on the 11th with her mates so I’ll let them have a listen and if they are up for it I’ll get them tickets as well

We all have our own reasons for playing vintage basses. I bought my first in 1979 and have usually looked to buy them when I wanted a new bass. It’s alway been my default purchase. As I have possibly said previously, in my opinion the comfortable, worn-in feel of a 60 year old nitro finish neck cannot be surpassed, so the playing experience of a vintage bass has a head start. I have had a number of more modern AVRIs, custom shops, JV Squiers and although they are very good, they are not the ones I reach for when I am searching for Musical inspiration. In fact, I almost never reach for them, when I want the best possible bass. In my opinion, asserting that other people you have never met own vintage instruments as a status symbol or are part of a cult, are “bonkers”, or buy to prevent others from buying is an interesting point of view. But it isn’t a view that reflects me, or as far as I can tell, the people I have met that play vintage kit, many having owned them since before they were of significant value.

Hi guys. I’m thinking on maybe selling my 2008 (I think) Status S2 Neck thru 5 string. I’m a little off in the market prices at the present. What do you guys think I should ask for? Cheers

Mine seems good, but the two ends are curled up a bit. Might try pouring boiling water over the ends if they don't flattened out, but currently it's in the lounge with a wooden cat on one end and a chair on the other.

Unfortunately, this is my view. How will you feel if it turns out to be a serious medical diagnosis and the guy is struggling to process it?

My frends really awful band - advice needed

Lots of great answers above, few of which I'd challenge, but my personal approach would be closest to @Hellzero on this subject. I've been in this situation more than once, and I just ask them back, "Do you want the polite, supportive answer or what I really think?". The easily offended will change the subject at this point, which is fine with me. Those who actually want to know are happy to dive into a deep technical conversation where we talk about high mids and volume levels and guitarists who are complete w*****s. -
As long as you remember to keep your mouth shut.

If I was after a Bongo but couldn't afford or didn't want a new one then then the £900 that those Sterling version costs is a major chunk of money towards a used example of the real thing or something else a bit more inspiring than a bass which essentially only has the appearance of a Bongo. I'm sure this bass is okay, EBMM don't put their name to poor products, but it's not cheap enough to be cheerful and it's not cheerful enough to be £900. £599 would be a different proposition, but even then I'd probably be looking to get a Sire rather than one of these.
