2025 SE Bass Basheroo! Sunday 9/11/25 *CONFIRMED*
NancyJohnson replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Events
On the off chance, is there anyone locally who can put @neepheid up on the Saturday and Sunday night? -
Hurtsfall played the Nottingham Pride event yesterday on the Gladrags stage at Rough Trade. Second time we've played at Rough Trade in less than a month and once again it was joy to be performing in an air-conditioned venue when it was uncomfortably hot outside. Once again excellent sound on stage and FoH. Due to time constraints we did the shortest set ever - under 25 minutes comprising just 5 songs. However we managed to pack the gig space at the end of the bar with plenty of people dancing and cheering as well as picking up a load on new fans, if our Facebook profile is anything to go by. Early finish and back home before 6.00 in the evening! Here we are giving it some at the end of our last song" "12 Long Years": Next gig is Twisted Firestarter which is the Infest Festival warm-up party at Rebellion in Manchester on 14th August.

PRICE NOW DROPPED TO £275. Easily the best speaker cabinet I have ever used: am downsizing to lighter Genz Benz cabs as I rarely play live now. The Eden D210XST Cab is loud enough to be heard and yet still small enough to be used at home or in a small studio. For those players who need a portable, high-performance rig with even more low end than the XLT, Eden has designed a 2 x 10" cabinet for their XST woofers. Punchy and clean, the D210XST produces a full and clear tone through its two 10" speakers. It's excellent for delivering articulate bass lines with volume. This 2 x 10" cabinet handles more power than many 4 x 10" cabs on the market. The D210XST offers huge bottom end with its cleverly-designed tuned and ported cabinet construction and speaker selection: the low end is full but tight, the mids are open and well-defined and the highs are clear and crisp. Durable build quality makes this ideal for touring and live performances. All Eden enclosures are constructed with 5/8" thick void free plywood with full dado and rabbet jointing. Massive internal bracing prevents vibration and keeps the sound deep, tight and clear. Exclusive Eden Cast Frame loudspeakers and Eden Cast Bell low distortion tweeter horns are designed, hand-built and tested in their own factory in the USA. Very Good condition. Comes with an official Eden cover. Power Handling: 500 Watts Impedance: 8 Ohms Speakers: 2x10" Eden-spec Eminence EC1060XS speakers Tweeter: Eden Cast Bell low distortion Crossover: 3.5KHz @ 18dB Frequency Response: 30Hz - 14KHz Sensitivity: 103dB SPL Connections: Parallel 1/4 Inch and Speakon Dimensions: 23" w x 18" h x 18.5" d Weight: 59lbs / 26.8kg NOW ONLY £300. Collection from East London preferred, although happy for buyer to arrange a courier.

Re-gluing that bit that the tailpiece wires rest on

People have been so generous to me, too. I asked once about where to buy a Wolf Endpin and someone sent one to me for free (still use it to this day). -

998 hits on Saturday. Wow.

Towards the end, I had some drop-outs where my sound dropped for 1 sec or so. For the last few numbers, I had the bass plugged directly into the amp. The only thing I missed was the tuner.

Trace Elliot 122H Combo - £280 collected or I'm willing to deliver it within 15 miles of Stoke on Trent for free. It sounds nothing short of incredible with plenty of punch and power from the Clive Button 300 watt MOSFET amp section plus the last generation of the 12-band preamp has some useful additions over the previous SMX. The Celestion C10H drivers are original and have that classic Trace 'snap' to them plus the Fostex HF unit helps with added 'ping' if you want it - I always do. I did a little maintenence on it when it arrived which was simple cleaning of the pots and jacks - you can see it's insides on the pics. It's never put a foot wrong or done anything daft. Condition is generally excllent all round with no rips or tears in the carpet but it does have the odd mark on the grill plus evidence of some sort of spilliage around the back in a previous life but for something that is 26 years old, it's superb. Obviously, it's not as loud as an SVT with an 8x10 and if your guitarist has a 100w Marshall through a 4x12, you'll need another cab to go with it but I'd put money on it at least matching the performance most other 2x10 combos. You're welcome to come try it at Synkronize Music Group - this thing is 100%.

Another one - Please Read. I bought this with a view to sorting an issue with the electronics (99.9% sure the switch is bollocksed) It arrived the Same Day as 2 Soloking Basses and the same week as the 51 build…so it’s sort of sat unused. When I got 10 minutes I Desoldered the switch and redid it. It went from only doing Neck Pickup and a weird out of phase sound…to neck pickup, weird phasey both and normal both…but I think it just needs a new switch (my orange one has a switchcraft replacement). Its got a few marks on it but plays well and sounds good. The Pickguard is lovely - but has the odd gap on it, looks the part from a foot away. Postage will be £20 in the UK at buyers risk Or it’s in Manchester (m27)

My Dingwall has a similar angle cut in. I find it much comfier than the P bass standard cut, which always seems to be in the wrong place for me. I'm seriously tempted to strip the finish off my HB tele and do a forearm contour like that... I might be a bad influence 😅 -
Sparkly teal or purple for me. I used to have a translucent teal SR with a maple neck and black PG and that was a looker. Add the sparkle and it will be unique.

The future of amps & cabs - stage props only?
YellowLedBetterBass replied to SimonK's topic in Amps and Cabs
I have been asked by the soundman at our next gig to not take a bass amp and the basses for all three bands are going to be DI'ed in with either his Sansamp or our own DI boxes. -

Price drop - £135 includes UK postage Hi, I’m selling my Aguilar Octamizer version 2. Well looked after and very little use. £185 price includes UK Postage. Here’s a bit of info from Aguilar: AN ALL-ANALOG OCTAVE PEDAL THAT CREATES A WIDE RANGE OF MUSICAL SOUNDS AN OCTAVE BELOW YOUR BASS SIGNAL. Modeled with old school and new school needs in mind, the Octamizer features independent volume controls for both the Clean and Octave sounds. This makes dialing in the exact amount of each a cinch. The two discrete signal paths also have their own tone controls that were specifically designed to enhance and expand their musical possibilities. The CLEAN TONE control uses a full spectrum tilt EQ, allowing for the boosting of treble while cutting bass or boosting of bass while cutting treble. This unique circuit allows you to create a clean sound that creates an octave doubling effect or to blend the sounds together for a great thick, snarky synth tone. *Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply only. Not included. Proprietary detector circuit for superior tracking Continuously variable multipole low-pass filter for Octave sound Dual filter architecture Full spectrum tilt EQ for clean sound Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply only. I grabbed them off eBay, perfect for patch XLR stuff, perhaps not robust enough if you're plugging and unplugging a lot? But can recommend for my use for sure! https://ebay.us/m/d6S9yD
