  1. Past hour
  2. Definitely US. This came from a parts bass made by a Sadowsky employee. No real markings on it to identify as such. The pickups were scrubbed out and headstock left blank for fear of repercussions. I still have the neck - Brazillian rosewood fingerboard, Graphtech nut, Schaller tuners.
  3. £27 including postage. La Bella 760FX Flatwound Strings Used for approximately 4 hours. Cut for Fender style head.
  4. If the bass arrived last week I’d have thought the builder would have come up with a response or resolution by now, hopefully something has been sorted
  5. £65 posted. Everything you need for your Precision or P style bass! Tonerider Precision pickups, Kiogon solderless loom (250k solid shaft CTS pots, Polydrop cap, Switchcraft jack) and Allparts control knobs. (Also, mounting screws and foam for pickups). Parts from a project bass now disassembled.
  6. Another +1 for the Bugera Veyron and agree with all Dan's comments above. Dare I say it's: light, capable and cheap/great value (probably 'cos they are built efficiently in China, where they also make our beloved iPhones?).
  7. So if we're too noisy we can send you round to apologise to your former neighbours.
  8. What can one say about the marvellous Mr Travis? As well as being a sensational gent of a buyer (he took his old Jack Casady back from me a while back and was great) he also happens to be a top seller as well. His old black sparkle Danelectro now sits with me after a perfect transaction. Easy deal, very quick send, nicely boxed. And it's a peach of a thing, no hidden unpleasantness of any description. You probably don't need telling as he is such a fixture, but tell you I will: deal with confidence.
  9. These basses look like opportunity for Fender to put together mainly already existing parts in a slightly different way to create a "new" product "Vintage" is the most elastic of concepts when it comes to basses, especially any bass with Fender written on it. There is nothing specifically "vintage" about these new basses except the tuners taken from the 1966 R.I and the colours, but every new Fender has to have some vintage credentials or it is apparently worthless in the eyes of the world. Vintage is to basses what Salon is to hair products, i.e obligatory but meaningless. Vintage is punch. Vintage is warmth. Vintage is depth. Vintage is growl. Vintage is anything you want it to be. These basses sound ok but I can't see much to make them especially appealing apart from the colours. . One day a genius at Fender will wake up and realise that all they have to do is make basses that look and sound like old ones of various eras but play better and are made to the standards of decent modern instruments with quality hardware. Like the American Standard range that was introduced in 2008 but that look as pretty as the basses they made in the 1960's and 1970's. Then they'd be fighting customers off with a stick.
  10. Fender must be the most consistent company for dull releases! How about a Sergio Vega signature Jag bass (squier and/or fender) given the huge resurgence of Deftones? Nope 30th anniversary of In Utero was a couple of years ago, how about a squier jagstang? Nope Jack White constantly putting out music and working with high profile people like Beyonce reaching new audiences, how about a fleet of affordable teles? Nah Beatles coming round again with a number 1 (meh but still) single, how about a signature bass vi? 🥱 Nahh What about yet another sunburst precision bass that we've seen a million times? Now you're talking!
  11. It’s the Letts bass thread all over again! Shonky work delivered to a customer who can’t be bothered to stand up for himself. Unless you name the builder, this thread is pointless. If it’s supposed to serve as a warning, it doesn’t with those details. You’ve already decided it’s unacceptable or you wouldn't have posted it. Get a grip and send it back for a refund and go somewhere else.
  12. @Phil Starr, does the cab need some acoustic wadding?
  13. A full model with the 2+2. Both look great, just depends on your preference.
  14. Cheers! Yeah, if I were still gigging regularly, I'd be clinging on to this amp. But I'll be keeping my Little B*ast*rd 30 for recording - probably my joint favourite with the CTM-100! - so I can't really justify keeping both of them.
  15. Or The Carpenters' version: "Every time you go away, you take a piece of teak with you."
  16. Lovely. Used to own one just like this and highly recommend if yours is as good. GLWTS
  17. Buy the 5 string and throw the B-string away.
  18. No replacement speakers available, so I've opted for a refund.
  19. Headbangers Ball. That's a bit of a blast from the past. Presented by someone called Vanessa, if I recall correctly. Also Ray Cokes. He was great doing that Most Wanted segment. I have fond memories of watching MTV when it was actually a music channel. I started to watch that Real World show they started and at that point I started to drift away from the channel. You could see where it was heading. Mark
  20. Are you tempted to try a wider spaced model?
  21. And lollipop tuners too
  22. So here’s a thing. On Amazon Prime, from the D’Addario store, Pro Steels for 4 strings are £31.00 but for 5 strings they are cheaper at £26.00! Shame I play a 4 string!
  23. You could do a lot worse than a Bugera Veyron. I had one as a backup and it was fine. I didn't notice much, if any, difference between it and my Aguilar AG700. Get the mosfet version if you want a more neutral sound (handy as it's a bit cheaper than the valve - only in the preamp, not full valve - model). They're about £230 new, so used ones are not expensive. Ignore the ludicrous claims about 1000w output (you won't need anything like that with a couple of BF 110s, anyway). Half that is probably closer to the mark and the power reserves will keep it clean if you need to push things a bit.
  24. Classic 1 pedalboard with hard tour case. Been used for a short while but still in great condition. I have the original box so happy to ship at buyer expense.
