  2. Books have always been edited. The dictionary is changed every year. Words added and removed. Check out the revisions and versions of the Bible. No one has removed Brown Sugar. You can still buy it, listen to it, play it. Last time I played it at a gig, along with some other Stones numbers, we were asked if we could play some modern music. Brown Sugar was written in 1960s. It's nearly 60 years old. It's a bit like expecting me to have been listening to songs recorded in the 1920s when I was a teenager.
  3. I agree with your overall argument, but would add that it isn't only the US that can produce quality gear. We do it rather well in Europe, too.
  4. Tell me.. how are 8 dinted Harley Bentons cheaper than one Fender? People pay an extra £1000+ to have fake dinted road worn basses, your dint is the real thing, and the pricless memories that you'll have for the rest of your life, that dink is a badge of honor, living in fear of such is not living. When Tommy Emmanuel gets a new Maton acoustic guitar he treats it as a tool for the job, he get out the sandpaper and rubs off the finish on one spot on front of guitar so he can get his finger ryhthm going, He likes the sound and playability of the Maton and it's roadworthy, why should he compremise? People are too precious about guitars, they are called instruments for a reason. If your a plumber why wouldn't you buy Chrome Vanadium tools that last?.. would you buy 8 poundland socket sets instead? No one is asking you to rock Diamond eblazoned Gucci overalls to work or drive a Porsche on a school run are they? that's beyond ridiculous. I'm saying get the best tool you can afford at the present for the job, if it's of Am Std quality it will last you a lifetime (dints or not)which is much better and actually cheaper than buying endless cheap stuff everytime one breaks! (read about pot metals, it's everywhere on budget gear.)
  5. Sadly I’ve been there (no idea why you wouldn’t lend me your bass 🤣). But seriously, gigs like that are just a right pain in the donkey.
  6. Yup, erase erase erase, much like the way The Daleks do in Dr Who, anything that doesn’t conform must be eliminated.
  7. No this is incorrect . The modern narrative is to change the past, so that it adheres to today's standards. So for example, books which are edited and have content changed or removed (Flemming; Dahl; Blyton etc).
  8. I bought this a couple of years back and did it up. It was professionally set up and restrung but I am just not using it. We were playing 80s alternative songs on folk instruments BUT I quickly got sick of taking several instruments to gigs and seem to have settled on using less. I added the fitted case, bought brand new from Gear 4 Music. The action is pretty decent and these are loads of fun / easy to play. I have it strung G-D-A-E but you can tune it C-G-D-A or like the top 4 strings of a guitar. Happy to meet Swindon - Newbury way which can be discussed via DM. Thanks for looking.
  9. I bought this brand new for £230 a couple of years ago for a fun band playing 80s Alternative on folk instruments. I have used it for a few songs at a couple of gigs but quickly learnt that taking 5 instruments per band member to a gig was more effort than it is worth. It is spent most of it's life in the hard case that I bought for it and that is included in the sale. It's pretty much immaculate. The specs are; Irish Bouzouki Solid spruce top Flat, solid maple back Maple sides Maple neck Acacia fingerboard Scale length: 66 cm Tuning: Gg - dd' - aa - e'e' Stringing: D'Addario J81 Made in Europe No silly logo on the headstock and it can be tuned the Irish way, the Greek way or like a guitar (or 4 strings of one). Sounds a bit like a 12 string, if you have never encountered one. Check my feedback for proof that I have no previous convictions! I am around Swindon / Newbury area and don't mind meeting off the M4 or similar depending on how much of a stretch it is. Thanks for looking.
  10. As bananas come in all shapes and sizes, the dimensions are 220 x 63 x 231 mm (8.7" x 2.5" x 9.1").
  11. I just bought one of these tuners (wish I’d bought yours instead!) so I thought I’d just mention that they’re great. It was the only size that would fit on my pedalboard so I thought I’d give it a try. I was fully expecting to send it back but it’s super fast and stable. Much prefer it to my TU-2. Bargain for the price!
  12. Thanks & 100%. I seem to have wound up with three practice amps which is why I am getting rid of this. I was blown away for ages with this - the aux connector, the blend dial, headphone socket and overall tone blew my mind when I compared it to the one I had before this.
  13. Hey Marc - It must be your phone as it displays on my phone, laptop and tablet. It's boxed, I still have the plastic (opened), leaflet and being a metal housed case, the pedal is in good shape. T

  18. Has anyone used the Soundmagic E10/E11 for IEM use?
  19. Have to say that although the text is a rough simplification (all details are not too accurate), it gives an idea of what's going on. That plastic printing is probably the easiest to misunderstand: first the plastic of the printed parts is removed. There you have a mesh. Then that mesh is put to a sintering oven. Not your Whirlpool: that requires special atmosphere, and high temp among others. The end result is far more smaller than the printed part. How to get a good, usable part depends on the parametres of design, printing, shapes, and sintering. A note: last time I checked: a set of 600 units was cheaper that a mold, but if more units were needed the mold became cheaper. Here the volume of the part was smaller than a hand. Machining is still a very good choice, if the part is doable with traditional techniques.
  20. I wouldn’t sink loads of money into something I knew I was going to beat the hell out of. First gig with my Schecter and the guitar launched his guitar into it and made a big dent, had it been a £2500 bass I’d have been gutted. I also don’t think I would have noticed any difference in that context between a well setup £500-600 instrument vs a high end one. I wouldn't buy a Porsche to do school/shopping runs, I would however want something reliable and cost effective to run. If I was a plumber I wouldn’t be rocking my diamond emblazoned gucci overalls to work 🤷‍♂️
