  1. Past hour
  2. I didn't know any details, but I know Lee is a good person so happy to help. Hope circumstances improve soon, whatever they are.
  3. I know some don’t like reggae covers and I don’t like them all myself, but I quite like a few eagles songs and I’ve never heard this Particular reggae version before, I think Carlton sharpe has a great voice on this and a good band
  4. All the best to you Lee in these difficult times, I do hope everything works out for you John 😎
  5. We auditioned our new guitarist on the 2nd (playing 4 songs). Got another 6 off at the next jam night on the 9th. Rehearsed two sets worth of songs last night. Yes, we are having to go for some 'quick wins', but we are out again in July. This is one of them.
  6. Supply and demand, i.e. D-Rocs are readily available. The Super P is new, more traditional and has sold out immediately, thus price increases are a safe bet for retailers (as well as some of the price increase being at source of production).
  7. Some goth stuff on Spotify. Started out with all of Floodland, by Sisters of Mercy then it moved on to some Cure, Damned and Echo & the Bunnymen
  8. Everything sounds great when done reggae style IMO. If the song was great to start with, then it’s happy days. Not sure about the aesthetics of the Dean Dimebag guitar in this setting though.
  9. Reduced further for a quick sale, now only £1350
  10. I ordered from them on the 6th (evening though) and it was despatched the next day, just been delivered about 1hr ago. So basically 5 working days which isn't too bad.
  11. Last bump before payday on Friday..yay!
  12. Hi Boss tuner still for sale? If so, what's the condition out of 10 please? Pat
  13. This has been partly brought on by the insistence of Fender/Gibson for stores to have entire walls of their product. Now, I like a good Fender as much as the next guy but I have no desire to see a wall of them so I never visit. Shops with a wide choice of brands, a good used section etc will always win out for me...... be they specialist stores with a wide range like Bass Direct, Gallery, BassBros etc or a more general music store with a decent range like RichTone or Andertons.
  14. Fun fact but I did a session on one of these around 1999/2000 with Paul Weller's old bass player producing and I always swore it was one of the best bass sounds I ever had. The old 90s Danelectro basses are really decent. GLWTS.
  15. It's a shame but like others have said I've barely been to the Bristol store since they move to Temple Meads as its a pain to get to. I've bought a number of bits from them over the years and they were always helpful.
  16. I meant to also say that I intended to drop into the Birmingham PMT at some point - they moved to just inside the CAZ from just outside it, so as we didn't have a ULEZ compliant car I didn't, and after we finally got a compliant one I never got round to going there. They did have the occasional slightly interesting instrument in there, and in fact I bought my Crafter acoustic guitar from there.
  17. That would be a problem for any music store, keeping 4000 Precisions and 6000 Jazzes in stock before they've even considered stocking Squiers too.
  18. Sending love mate. We're here for you if you ever need anything x
  19. That was a brave post Lee. I feel for you, and what you must be going through at the moment. I'm just out of hospital now, and I'm on the mend but still taking it easy. I know you have a gig tomorrow, so good luck with that, but I'll say that when I was your position a few years ago, I found solace in music and playing live, and found it really helped, especially playing live. You ain't got the blues until you've lived the blues man. We'll have that meet up in the next few days hopefully, it will be good to see you and talk. Until then, stay strong. Rob
  20. Same as above really, just to say I wish you all the best lee
  21. Today
  22. Yeah i agree that it is very unlikely that the bass would have a fret distance problem. The strings are GHS Precision Flats. He replaced the screw with one that is 1cm longer and sent me a picture. The saddle is all the way towards the pick-up, and the intonation is much better at the 24th fret but still not 100% perfect. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that the string is spot on at the nut and 12th fret, but flat at the 24th? How is it possible? Anyone else has any other idea than the possibility of a faulty string?
