  2. Seems I forgot to add that £180 Ono includes U.K. postage . So it’s cheaper
  3. From ‘72/73 era. In great working order, perfect really. 100w of vintage valve goodness. As much as I love it it’s not getting much use due to being involved in two acoustic bands. Happy to travel to meet up if that helps anyone not fortunate enough to live in Yorkshire.
  4. This may work
  5. This is one of the charges, "pretending to act under the authority of a County Court". If proven, the fellow might not be so lucky this time... Section 135, County Courts Act 1984: up to 7 years’ imprisonment for pretending to act under County Court authority. Other possible offences might carry higher penalties (up to 10 years or even life) depending on intent and impact.

  8. This is in fantastic order having been revalved earlier this year and not used much since. Comes with dust cover and kettle lead. Really great amp but just not gigging much so having a bit of a clear out. For a 300w valve amp this is fairly light (about half an SVT) so easy to handle. Happy to travel a decent bit to meet up if that helps, just ask.

Looks nice - hope it sounds good too.
  10. 30” scale, made in Japan 2014. Quite a rare thing. Rosewood fretboard with pearly block inlays, vintage white body with super cool competition stripes. The pickups are blades, very responsive and precise. Featuring the John East jazz preamp, so it has full passive control, or epic active. It's had a full luthier set up, action is low and intonation is spot on. In excellent all round condition. Comes with Atelier short gjgbag and a cheap hardcase. Currently wearing Slinky’s but comes with a set of La Bella Deep Talkin strings. Bought this a couple of months ago and as good as it is it’s not really suited to what I’m doing. Happy to post.
  11. Only 3 months of fraud? Surely they have a lot more evidence than that!
  12. Please expand? I was just going to post a topic to say I’ve never seen a better selection of boutique and vintage basses available in the UK. It’s incredible right now
  13. What bass was it removed from? Is this the regular pre as fitted in the US models? Thanks. KC
  14. All done! CTS pots and switch craft socket, new pick guard, new Tone Rider The Duke pickups, fender Hi mass bridge and new DR Low Rider strings. £340 in total but that includes the bridge I didn’t need (but I have to have) and you could save money on some cheaper strings if you wanted so less than £300 for a bass which to be honest is as good as my Fender! Sounds completely different though as I got the vintage ish pickups and I went for a higher value capacitor on the electronics. Output seems high and quite bright right now but strings are very very new. It does sound wierdly like my Musicman Sterling I just sold but passive which is a really good thing!

  17. Years ago, I was doing some recording straight into the studio desk. My Antoniotsai active bass was picking up lots of interference and the engineer offered the use of a Precision that could have been used at Agincourt, the neck was so bowed (and it had one string too few). Fortunately I also had a passive Peavey Zephyr with me and that proved interference-proof. When I thought about it afterwards, it did occur to me that I could just have gone into the studio away from the racks and racks of electronic gear and used a DI box.
  18. Boutique basses…..?
  19. In my last band I played a part in the songwriting, probably 30% of the songs had the music written by me, with an occasional lyric or chorus, and an even less occasional vocal melody. In my current band I joined just as they were intending on recording an album with the songs pretty much already written, so I only added bits in when there was a stumbling point - not many times I should add. And that’s pretty much me, I prefer to be the additional songwriter rather than the main, and to add in extra passages to existing songs such as a guitar solo that has a key change or change of structure etc. And since ditching booze I’m usually the calming influence in the band, not that I was bothersome on drink, more that sober I listen and mediate whereas when drunk I’d just reach for another pint and ignore whatever the rest were arguing about.
  20. Thinking of cricket bats, there's also the Westone Quantum and the non-cricket-bat small-bodied headless Ibanez Axstar, although both are now obsolete and priced accordingly.
