Nice simple wee bass part there Rob. Think i could manage this one. 😂 Quite like some of the Yellowjackets material but some a little too jazz for me. This one was just a nice wee song. Dave

Different tools for different jobs to be honest. I rely on my bass for the majority of my tone. However, the orange has a smoother, warmer sound as it has a tube preamp. Although I brighten it up a bit with different preamp tubes and using full-range drivers in my cabs. The hd150 has an ultra clean solid state preamp so naturally sounds brighter. Depending on which band I’m playing with and where, will determine which amp I use. If I’m using both, the MM does the clean channel and Orange does the dirty.

Have an older ABM 500. Which is way more watts than I need as I have PA support and mostly use my rig as a monitor, mostly. My other heads are 100w valve heads and they are plenty. The problem with the 500 is the output is barely on and so sensitive by the time I add enough pre and tube. I would love a 100w ABM with the current features.

All prices reduced by £5 and delivery to UK included. I made space on my pedal board for an HX One. It replaced my Xotic Bass RC Booster and the pedal I thought I'd never sell, my Creation Audio Grizzy. So I now have 5 pedals sitting around doing not a lot and a hankering for a Stomp Creation Audio Grizzly. £135 Flattley Poison Ivy Fuzz £85 Black Country Custom The 85 Octave £80 Xotic Bass RC Booster £60 TC Electronics 3rd Dimension Chorus £20 All in top condition. In fact the 85, 3rd Dim and Flattely are like new. All boxed except for the Grizzly (I will keep looking). Velcro'd as per the photos. Peter

Now £450! Here's my Markbass cab up for sale. It is in near new condition and includes a Roqsolid cover. The top carpet has a couple of indents where the amp was placed on it. Other than that minor sign of normal use it's as new. It has been used several times at rehearsal at very low volume levels and at one gig where it was only used as a monitor as I was going through the PA. It is a great cab. A real one cab solution weighing approximately 18Kg or 40lbs. I'm 70, under 11 stone, have osteoporosis and have suffered a spinal fracture and I'm happy to lug it around. Specs briefly are 2 x 12" ceramic speakers 600 watts Piezo switchable tweeter with 2 levels of attenuation 57.8 x 60 x 47 cm https://www.markbass.it/product/mb58r-122-p-4/ Tone is very Markbass, i.e. effective. Collection or meet up only. I'm in Kendal, Lake District, NW England.

Hi I bought a bass a while back that had these strings on, they are much nicer than any I've tried on it since... Can anyone ID them? I can't find any info anywhere. Red silks at the ball end, purple at the other, picture should make it easier 🙂 Thanks Graham

I'm so sad to read this, she was most definitely a good sort.

Sold Bernie an MXR Brick. He’d messaged me whilst away and asked me to save it for him, which I did with no problems whatsoever. He contacted me when about to return and we had an easy and pleasant transaction, with excellent communications. Wouldn’t hesitate in dealing with Bernie at all, one of the good guys! Many thanks. Pete.

Hi - I have a Sterling Stingray5 in red - am seeking a black bass instead though - prefer the the aesthetics! Would be an ideal straight swap I would suggest and even better, I am gigging in Chelmsford on Saturday... (Golden Fleece, Duke Street) PM if interested and I will take some pictures in the interim... P

Apparently, and once the hype wears off and more people get chance to buy them, as with other pedals I can see the price dropping a little.

I found mine had a weaker g-string but after a surprising number of adjustments finally got pickup height right. It needs to be as high as possible without any danger of clacking the string. I have a tiny spall on the headstock. Trying to play it a lot but seems reluctant to wear. The £350 case is lovely but heavy, and if it isn't on a level surface it twists and the catches won't open.

Ooh I love the figuring on the body - that's come up a treat 👍

I took delivery of this one this morning. Richard Henry made the trip up to the seaside and brought it to my house personally. He had it advertised as a '72, and whilst the pot codes are 39th week of '72, the serial number is early '73, so I'm going to call it a '73. All original except for the saddles, intonation screws and springs. It was probably one of the grubbiest basses I've ever bought, but after two or three hours of cleaning and polishing, including the frets and the board, it has come up a treat. It's now sporting a set of Labella LTFs, the action is low, and it plays superbly well. It sounds fabulous too. The weight is an astonishing 8lbs 6oz, or 3.8kg. Richard has had this for a while, and I have resisted it all this time, and I even thought Brian on here was going to buy it for a while, but it remained for sale, and when Richard dropped the price for the second time in a week I just couldn't not buy it. I'm very pleased with this one. Rob

I don't have much data to go on when it comes to Ramjam - the only time I engaged their technical services was over 2 years ago for a full rewire of a bass, which cost £50, which I thought was pretty reasonable at the time. But who knows what it would cost me today, sorry.

I nearly bought a dolphin grey Aerodyne in PMT, but the setup was so bad I couldn't bond with it.
