I've loved the Spectors I've owned (four) and I still own a EuroX, but my fear for Spector is that their business model is fast aping Fender and it's diluting its position in the marketplace ('Coming May 2027, the Fender Vintera III range, exactly the same as the Vintera I, but now it's III, innit?'). While I appreciate over the years there's been the occasional movement away from the NS body line, the market just seems to be saturated with variations on (more or less) the same design with models suffixed with LT/LX/LE, offered in different colours, pickup and preamp configurations. Obviously I realise that (like Fender) the company needs to continually mix things up to keep the range fresh and to stay in business, but as Gary says these new models are possibly just replacements for a discounted line...how different are they from these and ultimately does it make any difference?

SimonK started following Bass amp for acoustic band setups
-
I'm going to be left field, and say amp wise I don't think it really matters what you use for an "acoustic" sound as almost anything can be turned down. Indeed I often think that bigger cabs work better at lower volumes as you get better sound dispersal. BUT when I played in an acoustic group for a couple years, and on occasion sit in for acoustic gigs now, I always use a fretless as I think it gives a much softer and less aggressive sound. So I would say the bass you use matters more than the amp.

I bought some bass string cufflinks from Etsy for my wedding a few years ago. Looks like the store is closed now though.

So, a little glimpse into how it’s going to look with a scratch plate… I was considering a clear plate, but I actually really like it with the black. Add a black bridge and black tuners with a maple neck, I think it’s going to look decidedly cool!!

Aria Elecord FEB2 acoustic bass - any info?
fretmeister replied to fretmeister's topic in Bass Guitars
That one is different. This is the same as the one my neighbour has, albeit in a different colour: https://reverb.com/item/501921-reduced-rock-bottom-price-aria-elecord-feb02-acoustic-bass-fishman-transparent-blue-no-veneers The actual one is in a brown burst. -

Just found this in the loft after selling the amp years ago. There's also 4 screws and washers for attaching it to a rack. Just let me know where to send it 😁

Not lost to some of us - see the thread below! I think I saw this amp but it was too far away to get, and I am just in the process of getting another GP12SMX up and running again with some new capcitors which would give me essentially the same combo! I have to agree these amps are second to none if you like sound - I currently have nine TE cabs and 3 heads because I can't help myself when they come up so cheaply!!

I reckon that`s the way forwards

Ummm, I don't think they'd want the one I cleaned my drain with.....

That looks to be a good gig, great supports too. If my back was able to do a standing all day gig I`d def look to go to that one.

I think I read that as a euphemism first time around....

Alternate uses for old strings....

https://www.theguitarwrist.co.uk/ I send mine here, but there may be other local makers who do something similar. Maybe you know someone who can do this. They don't get many from me!! -

Helloween, never seen them although used to listen to them in mid - late 80s Also waiting for Iron Maiden tickets to go on sale in Saturday

It would be great to include a short scale version of the new Icon bolt on range.
-
I watched a youtube video where someone made a knife from a load of old strings. I think it might have been a collaboration with Daisy Tempest.

I hung some in the Christmas tree once.

Ok this was for a project but I no longer need it. This is a brand new Allparts Jazz neck, never installed of used. Since purchasing I have added a Fender Logo supplied by Rothko & Frost and a bone nut. The frets have been dressed, fretboard oiled and it's in beautiful condition. David Wilson then completely finished the neck in lacquer with a lovely tint on the face, his work is outstanding. In total this neck owes me about £600 ish so offering it out at £500 including UK delivery. Open to offers and potential trades HX Stomp, Radial JDI, Bassrig… let me know
