It seems that I have finally succumbed to the cold that Mrs Norris has been sporting for a week or more. Soapy throat, sneezing, snot. It'll be a long night of paracetamol and adrenaline. To cap it all, I got two tickets for Iron Maiden baby - before I realised this is one gig that couldn't be moved or avoided. Mrs Norris is dutifully depping for me at Maiden with my son while I go off to spend a very long night playing in a barn (setting off just before 5pm - got 45 mins to drink my cuppa then go). It's a ticket do with hired PA, sound guy, etc. I told her to get me a tour T shirt though.

Yes.It's a really nice place.Unfortunately there aren't many of these left here in our area. Is the decrease of those little venues a particular symptom just here in Germany or is it the same in your countries?

Never rains in Pitlochry. Its the centre of the known universe. Gorgeous area, one of my fav areas to drive thru. I no longer stop at Pitlochry these days as its always too busy. Maybe i should visit in winter months. Dave

Awesome stage presence - isn't quite the same with only IEMs!! -
There's been a few threads from Basschatters who have taken a punt on this sort of thing from Chinese online marketplaces over the years. My impression is it's a bit of gamble, while some have been pretty pleased with what turned up, I think most of the instruments have required at least some additional work to get them up to standard. And , as pointed out above, if you're unhappy enough to want to send it back or nothing turns up at all then the usual consumer protections may well not apply with a Chinese based exporter

I’ll close the JG on the first of July. So if anyone’s hanging on for payday or something, there’s still a bit of time. - Today

Slick Bass started following Fender Jazz American Fretless 2005

2005 Fender American Series Fretless Jazz Bass Babitz full contact bridge and strap locks with originals supplied. String-through-body bridge and single coil pickups with Series / Parallel switching. Professional set up with nice low action, in pretty much perfect condition. Light at 4.2kg and sounds beautiful. Sadly not being played and it deserves to be. Based in Devon.

Dr Gig is a great healer (at least for the duration). The rain seems to have been well south of us and a quick look at the radar imagery confirms it. Arriving here tomorrow, 8-4 apparently. Cloudy and a light breeze keeping things comfortable at the moment.

Hate the stupid sport, merely a brain fart. Anyway, I'll see your ford and raise you a well. Whatever his name, I saw him with the band a couple of times (before he died, obvs!) and he always had his elbows out like that so I can only assume he practiced on the double neck all the time! Last time he also - quite annoyingly - played the bass line to Hold Your Head Up wrong. Dummmdummmdummm dum dum instead of Dum dum dum dummmdummm.

Looking good. Are you going to stain it or leave the colour as it is (you may have covered this earlier and I’ve forgotten/missed it)? -
Rain here so at least its cooling down a bit. Hope the cold isn't too bad for you during the gig. Nothing worse. Dave

As I said, get your gigs into the diary first. Problem solved! Then it depends on the deps. Deps can be good or bad. If you've got a bad dep then it's your fault for not booking a good dep. Make the right choices and the deps can be better musicians than the guys they are replacing.
