  2. Sure! Bright Giants was another post-Covid project, has ebbed and flowed with arrival of kids etc but great people to work with and IMO strong songwriting with the playing focus on supporting that. Based around Bristol and Somerset, currently a 4 piece (vox, guitar, bass, drums) but exploring the possibility of expanding to allow our guitarist, who is also an excellent classically-trained pianist, a little more freedom. Also working on adding more 3-part harmony live where it'll support the melody. Aim for this year is being a bit more regular and ideally building on that to take what we think is a solid set of originals to festivals. Be nice to connect with other bands who might crossover potential audience-wise, sometimes feel we're probably a bit poppy for the punk/metalheads and a bit guitar-y for the pop kids! Cheers!
  3. Boss DM-2W analog delay pedal in excellent condition with original box - £200 Now £180 plus p&p (collection welcome too). The pedal has been modified by Time Travel Audio. It is a momentary oscillation mod. The new switch is the bypass switch and the original switch momentarily ramps up the feedback. The side mounted knob 'tunes' how much the feedback happens. The link below is a video of what the modification was based on:

  4. *PRICE INCLUDES UK POSTAGE * Wicked pedal! Tracks beautifully. Only selling as I’m now using multi-effect unit. In great condition (I may even have original box…can’t find at the moment m). Does an octave below and/or above. Also has an independent boost effect. Blurb here: Octavius tri-tone generator has 4 controls LO OCT, HIGH OCT, MASTER MIX and BOOST. LO OCT knob lets you set the volume of the lower octave signal produced by the pedal. HIGH OCT knob controls the volume of the higher octave signal produced by the pedal. The balance between the levels of these 2 knobs is what creates your particular octave-divided sound. Experiment with your mix, and you’ll be amazed at the variety of effects you’ll get. MASTER MIX knob lets you set the overall volume of your low and high octaves compared to your direct signal. Use the BOOST knob to control the output of your octave-divided sound. The boost function lets you dial in a solo level, whether the overdrive circuit is activated or not.
  5. My experience is that when it comes to basses, at whatever price point, Yamaha don't make rubbish. They're always well-designed and as good or better than anything else for that money, be it a budget bass or a high-end one. I remember those RBX basses as fairly decent budget PJ basses. What I also remember is that they were nice and light, which is never a bad thing.
  6. Depending on the body proportions and the strap length, the first one is much more universal. Here I would say, more carve is better, but I have had issues with my hands. If the player sets the bass very low, the carve is nearly useless.
  7. Put away 10 quid a week and before you know it you will have choices in quality 112 cabs that can fully drown out your current one.
  8. I use 13A twin core mains cable.
  9. My goodness is this still here! These are great cabs and at that price a complete steal, if I didn’t already have one I would be snapping this up. GLWTS
  10. Went to see GNOME last Friday. That. Was. Awesome.
  11. Could possibly deliver if anyone's interested.
  12. I only get involved in stage management side of it but not what the SE does FOH. I do listen to what he has FOH during my line check and that it matches my on stage tone. SE's have often told me that the bass channel is almost flat EQ and that the tone from my Mesa amps is good enough on its own. Dave

  16. The red jack socket below the DI is the speaker output. As Bill says, you will need a jack to speakon lead to connect your amp to that speaker. David
  17. You need a cable with 1/4" on one end and Speakon on the other. What's labeled as Direct Output goes to a mixing console, not a speaker. Read the manuals. If you don't have them do a search to find them. BTW, you're in the wrong forum. This is the PA section. 😒
  18. Everyone except for the drummer is set up before me. They're all in their early 40s and move a lot faster than me. In my older age I'm overall a lot more practical about my gigs. And anything I can take off my plate to make the gig go smooth for me , I'll do it. But not at anyone else's expense. I might do a little tweaking for my sound on stage. Not much, as soon as I hear something I like and my chorus pedal is set I'm good. Dave, I completely delegate the sound in the house to the sound guys. That's not my area of expertise. Hopefully they'll get me a good sound and place me properly in the mix. I'm not getting involved with that part of a show. Keep in mind, 10 years ago I'd definitely be on the other side of the fence. 19. Well I ordered a Nano in the end, but then have returned it. it arrived just after the launch of the new V2 captures, and it did sound great, but ultimately I found only being able to have 1 capture per preset quite limiting. Also I found it annoying not being able to turn an effect on and off, and having to have two different presets, one with the effect and one without it. I was very impressed with the sound quality of the captures, especially the Tech 21 GED 2112. Aside from a Boss Katana Go, this was my first foray into digital effects, and I liked them a lot. I also found the app quite easy to use, and set up presets etc. Its a shame that Neural dont have a device that sits between the Nano and the full size QC, but I guess this is where the Anagram fills the gap. When I used the Nano powered by a USB battery pack, there was quite a lot of interference, which is something to watch out for. It was fine through headphones with the battery pack, and fine with the power supply through the amp, just not the battery pack.
  20. I got this bundled with something else and have no need for it. I've never used so no idea how good/bad it is but it's cheap, comes with a cable and clip for a stand and I'll be happy to post it if you pay the postage. Onsale for £19.99 at Andertons https://www.andertons.co.uk/ordo-d10-dynamic-vocal-mic/?msclkid=04ebe81098721a3c9c91813d2808131e&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=AMC | Smart Shopping | Full Catalogue&utm_term=2324161424030427&utm_content=Ad group %231 I work in Central London so happy to hand over somewhere in zone 1, ideally near Euston/Russel Sq or heading south to Waterloo. Yes. I'd consider swaps for something interesting under a tenner!
  21. Cool little phaser pedal from the JHS budget line, was on my board for the last 8 months or so but I just prefer the more simple Phase 90 for my use, the less knobs the less chance of me fiddling during gigs! It can pull off the Phase 90 vibe and also do much more extreme sounds with the feedback knob switched on. Pretty much as new except having Velcro on the bottom, with the original box and bits and pieces. Price includes UK postage, will knock £5 off for local collection
  22. In the past I've found it useful to play along to drum rudiments. I also trg to vary my rhythm when playing certain songs. Perhaps most of us don't think about naming rhythms or consciously learning them, perhaps shuffles and bo diddley... or just play along to different drum machine rhythms without actually breakingthem down. I was listening to 'Add to Playlist' earlier and they mentioned Samba rhythm. It made me think 'how is a samba constructed?' I found this short video interesting: Spoiler: it does not mention samba...
