  1. Past hour
  2. It was a soundcraft desk, although I did occasionally use a huge Allen and Heath. The other fun thing you could do with this arrangement is essentially a bass drop - so cut all the low frequencies out for the intro or other parts of a song and then send it all back in as needed. Not entirely useful but there were one or two songs in the set where this could give quite a nice lift - Wild Cherry "Play that Funky Music"- was one.
  3. Hi yes it's all working, feel free to message me 👍
  4. Free reverb available till the 22nd of May here: https://www.soundtoys.com/product/spaceblender/ SpaceBlender is your portal to a new dimension of space and time effects. It’s an experimental reverb that lets you create unreal and imaginary spaces – shapes, textures, and tones otherwise impossible in the real world. Not had a chance to have a play yet, but the site I found it on said that another reverb hasn't impressed them the same way since Valhalla (which is also free and worth having for all of your psychedelic space sounds!).
  5. That's a really kind offer - we have a 17 year old bass player who is in need of an amp so I tried to give him one of my Trace Elliot combos but after trying to pick it up he asked if I could give him a preamp with a headphone out instead - youth of today aren't as rock 'n roll as we were! This looks far more sensible for church use although I'm too far away.
  6. It was intentional. Congrats on spotting the irony.
  7. Three John Mayall CDs on the US Forty Below label. Played once or unplayed. All well reviewed, The Sun is Going Down features guest guitarists like Mike Campbell and Carolyn Wonderland. £16 posted UK. Now £14

  8. Yes. Yes I am. Please don't hold back. I'm not a snowflake.
  9. It's up to the trademark/copyright owner to instigate any legal proceedings. As for the Muppet owner, the term has become common usage and the image style is pervasive. From an alternative perspective it might be the case that these images actually generate interest in The Muppets. I remember one of my most active musical times was when I used to download from Pirate Bay - I'd try stuff and buy albums or go to gigs. Technically it was verbotten, but factually it generated income for the industry.
  10. Hi there. I’m interested in this preamp. All working, I take it? Arnie
  11. Agreed, but while it's easy to see the problem with generative processes, predictive AI still has huge limitations, many of which are being overlooked
  12. No, Mark is using his Jaydees again nowadays, no apostrophe needed. Pedant revenge, there... 😉
  13. Hi all, I have the following practice amp/combo listed in the marketplace: However if anyone has a use for it in their church - youth band, someone starting out who needs a practice amp but can't necessarily afford one, whatever you think would put it to good use - then PM me as I'm happy to donate.
  14. Thanks for saying what I held back from saying earlier
  15. Mark is using his Jaydee's again nowadays, so check new footage as the quality will be way better. 😉
  16. And if I am to believe the sources, the errors that have already been made using AI in military applications are pretty horrific.....
  17. My main ‘band’ is an acoustic / electric duo, ‘Milestone’. What makes us unique? I think it is mainly how we let our audiences pick what we play. At most of our gigs ( decent pubs, cafe bars and private parties ) we run a request system, where we put forms on the tables with space for 3 songs, then try to play them! We do anything from the 1920’s to the 2020’s really, and have literally thousands of songs to call on. Of course we get plenty of requests for stupid or little known stuff, but we try to cater for as many styles as possible. We both sing, and sometimes the limits of just having acoustic guitar and bass can be rewarding as well as limiting. What do we have that others don’t? A truly phenomenal guitarist and singer. My mate Gary is generally acknowledged as being ‘the’ guitar player in our area, and never ceases to amaze both me and our audiences. He can play pretty much any style of stuff, and sings well too. My role is to keep things anchored and add harmony vocals, and somehow this combination works really well. We’ve been doing gigs as a duo for over 30 years ( without ever having one rehearsal! ) and have developed that telepathy that makes playing together so much easier. Our best selling point? We can play gigs anywhere! We can adapt what we do to suit pretty much any venue / occasion. Last week we played at a rural village hall for a VE Day party, this weekend we are in a great local music venue full of musos who come to check us out. Birthdays, weddings, themed parties, pub acoustic gigs, we do ‘em all! Gary is a pro player, and I’m semi retired ( after being pro as well) so we can ask for good money too. Areas we can struggle in ? Not much really TBH. We do tire of playing some of the more obvious stuff, and sometimes have to chuck in a few of our choices to compensate. Also two blokes in their late 50’s / 60’s do have some limitations , but we manage pretty well most of the time. I absolutely love being in the duo, and can’t imagine it not continuing for a while yet. It’s great having just your best mate as a colleague - none of those stupid band politics to contend with, although he can get a bit loud after a couple of glasses of Pinot 😆
  18. Crumblin' Down - John Mellencamp
  19. OMG they've cloned Marcus!!! He has hair,he's playing a 5 string AND he's not slapping 😁
  20. The House That Jack Built - Aretha Franklin
  21. For sale is the perfect practice / small gig amp: the EBS Session 60. Bought from here in 2019 and has been my practice amp ever since, with a couple of outings to church and bass bashes. These sound SO much better than things like the little Fender Rumble 30 and let's be honest, you want to sound good when you practice. This is probably a Mk1, but I don't know for sure. Selling for what I paid for it, and at less than these seem to be going for on the market. The only reason for selling is that I've been given an Ashdown combo by a very good friend who sadly isn't gigging any more, and I don't have space for two amps in my small music room. (Actually the EBS is more use as it has a headphone out and line in, but I couldn't turn down the Ashdown even though it's not really what I need right now) Specs as follows: Power: 60 W RMS, 1 x 10 "+ 2" Tweeter, Monitor tilt back Volume, Bass & Treble controls, a "Character" switch which seems to add a little more warmth and an "Enhance Filter" switch Input gain control with Peak LED Headphone output and balanced DI output Ground Lift AUX input (RCA) with input volume control Dimensions (H x W x D): 37.6 x 31 x 34.3 x cm, Weight: ~16 kg (from EBS site, not weighed) Cheap cover included, the fish patch should peel off if you want to remove it. Pickup in Solihull, West Midlands, or can meet up near Milton Keynes/Newport Pagnell as I'm working there most weeks.
