  1. Past hour
  2. I've never been asked to bring any kind of bass for a gig or dep. In actual fact i didn't even know what the P-bass sound was until I joined this forum and read so much praise for them and decided to listened to examples. I do have an active bass with two sets of P-style pickups and in recent years put on flats but i doubt it has the authentic tonality of a passive P bass. I've taken it on a few dep gigs and got close enough to the previous bass player's sound that they noticed. I personally don't think I 'need' that sound and It's never gonna be my first call bass sound but if that type of sound was needed, i'd bring it along and see what I could do with it. Sounds monster with rounds on tho.
  3. Bought new, kept it in pedalboard since forever. Actually I’m not even removing it until it sells don’t have the original box though (I moved between places since buying). It has 3M Dual Lock Velcro underneath, and naturally is in full working order. Wasn’t stomped much - I was usually engaging it through paired DMC Micro. And on rare occasions it was - it has the button cap! Highly recommended. I can post through Royal Mail Tracking24 for 5 quid or we can arrange local pickup in London
  4. What if it’s vintage tonewood? 🍿 I’m also assuming that a longer g string screw on the bridge saddle makes it sound different also
  5. Sounds familiar. It takes a lot of persuasion to get in, and then quite a bit more to get it out.
  6. Best for a speedy recovery.
  7. This '77 beastie dropped down the chimney.
  8. Don't know if it's relevant but my 1st gen P10 has a wooden cover.
  9. Your description is spot on. I couldn't of put it better. I simply can't turn mine off.
  10. Well done sir. 'Nuff said.
  11. I wonder if they use cheap hardware? I had to trim 1mm off the end of the speaker jack socket on my Elf head as jacks wouldn't engage properly and vibrated out when I played it! They now 'click' in place.
  12. Today
  13. It's definitely a good purchase if you're into Ric's.
  14. Have a great Christmas folks
  15. Sweet Like Chocolate (Orange) - Shanks & Bigfoot
  16. Hammond MIDI pedalboard (Christmas present to myself though!) Gives me the scope to become Geddy Lee, or a great Organ player. .....or the more likely outcome: Playing drone notes hands-free while I practice noodling bass guitar in that key over the top.
  17. It sounds remarkably like my Westone Thunder 1 - which is a compliment, I always say it sounds more like a Precision than a Precision.
  18. Haha, I wonder how many pedals I have been through over the years and how many I've bought at least twice too🤪
  19. If memory serves, this was the very first pedal for bass that I ever bought. God, that was a long time ago.
  20. Reduced to £325. This is more than worth it for the fuzz and filter circuits alone before all the bells and whistles!
  21. Take the head out and there's your cab! If space wasn't at a premium I wouldn't be moving it on, its a brilliant bit of kit and looks great too. And, like busses, there are TWO for sale on the forum at the same time, the 12inch is the classic but I'm sure the 15inch is ace too, can't go wrong.
  22. Back to BB2000 trade folks...poss a US Stingray
  23. Double gig bag. Fancy strings. Plus my present to myself - a couple of SBL courses that I bought back in November. Time to bite the bullet and make a conscious effort to improve.
  24. Not good, fingers crossed it’s just a touch of seasonal lurgie, Chris
  25. One is silver with black writing. The other is black with yellow writing.
  26. Typically, now I've ordered my American Professional Classic Precision from the Bass Gallery, I spot these - Listen to the demo on the last frame in the list of pictures... Don't know what strings he's putting on these, but his timber choices and how he makes/winds the pickups sound sublime. https://reverb.com/uk/item/92759611-alnus-bass-precision-bass-2025-aged-dakota-red
