Pow_22 started following Duffs tones in a pedal board
-
I had an early Japanese Yamaha chorus pedal back in the day and it nailed that Duff tone. Simple little three knob effort it was, cheap at the time but as with most Japanese stuff from 80's its probably rocketed in value!

This is what happens when you buy grossly substandard parts from unauthorized (or non-genuine) supply chains. This is not a capacitor issue, it's a fraud issue.

Sold some strings to Sean this week. A real pleasure to deal with. Thanks Sean!

Sorry, no pics as I was still setting up until three (as in the three in 1,2,3,4). The Rebbels had a very good gig at my local Legion, in front of all my friends. People that have seen us many times said we had the sound we ever have, although we had to run without on stage monitoring, due to feedback problems. Legion in the next Village next Saturday.

I've had bursitis. Doctor took a big syringe and some bloody liquid came out of the elbow. Didn't hurt but looked pretty awful. I had been hitting my hand, and the elbow reacted. After lessening the hits, that bursitis hasn't come back.

Richard R started following Sexy bass stands

Trying to find that Catch-o-matic I came across this post on a Guild forum refering to a crash-o-maric. I couldn't work out what the guy was talking about or asking, until the reply came with the pictures. https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/the-infamous-crash-o-matic-stand.150985/

A great looking Ric……and the blue colour has not leached into the body binding like some other examples in this colour. The foot on the case is a common fault on those ABS cases. Easily fixed with black epoxy though. Ricky Sounds also does a kit to fix it as well. As this is a UK only sale, it looks like I just “missed the bullet”. All the best for your sale!

We supply our own mics and the monitors are mine. The singer has an SM58, I use a Sontronics Solo and the guitarist has a Behringer XM8500. My mic is a super-cardioid and the others are cardioids. The Singer and I have good mic technique, but I keep trying to get the guitarist to sing closer to the mic.

Further to the comments, I remember a gig where the stage was so small for us as a 5 piece that we had to place the monitors at the side. I seem to remember a very nice monitor sound. The monitors I use have a 60x60 dispersion on the horns, so I should have realised that we were firing at our feet. Make some new wedges to angle them at our ears next week. One other thing was, actually two other things, the thumb screw from one of the 12" tops was missing, and the other would not tighten, the thread had stripped. I could contact the seller, but he would deny all responsibility. They had been loaned to the guitarist for a recent gig of his occasional band, but I had not checked them before lending them out. I had a spare M8 machine screw and ran it through the insert in the cabinet. It went in easily at first, but just before getting to the end of the insert is stiffened. Using the correct sized spanner, I gently tried to use the screw to clear the thread. It did finally go through, and so I was happy to search for new Thumb Screws. Despite searching for local suppliers, only Mr Bezos Emporium had the right size and they will be arriving tomorrow.

Agreed, it’s definitely coming off, I just haven’t had chance yet. Although personally don’t mind it terribly as is but I do think I’d prefer it off. Or, I quite fancy a black one in the future to match the hardware. Just haven’t had chance yet. Flat out with gigs and it’s school holidays. So if I’m not running around after the kids or gigging, the odd practice time with my bass is spent playing it! 🙌

I think the inserts are the way to go as it will also avoid future problems. Thanks! -
Question: Filling pocket screw holes on maple neck
BlueMoon replied to Grooverjr's topic in Repairs and Technical
Just make sure the inserts are plumb in the neck, not at an angle. With careful drilling (best is a drill press) for the inserts it is not that difficult to do. The added advantage is that you can remove the neck for truss rod adjustments etc as many times as you want with no movement due to wear in the neck holes. It’s a good upgrade. -
Can’t comment on the SR but it’s not far off my Jazz. Took a few side by sides for comparison.

Yes………and it’s a clean and effective method.

Question: Filling pocket screw holes on maple neck
JJMotown replied to Grooverjr's topic in Repairs and Technical
Screws come in different widths, you may have slimmer ones, check dimensions and get next size up or some slightly wider.
