  2. The R was used on sone Japanese models and some also had complicated switching. I would lean 95% towards it being USA but there would be a little bit of doubt.
  3. @Steff There’s a one or two sets I’m interested in as well I think if there still for sale? I messssged you a while ago about some Bart’s
  4. Today I re-drew the main board layout and stuck it onto the full-size chassis plan. I need to do a layout for the bias board before I get too far along with this.
  5. Good left hand technique from a teacher or ploughing through Simandl, (possibly the world's most boring book) is useful..helps you find the notes, stay in tune and play what you're thinking not what your hand will let you. But you can't learn everything from classical or (even) jazz musicians. Nb: using "the evil 3rd finger" is de rigeur above the neck joint, as is using your thumb. Rabath is all about whether you can move your hand without moving your thumb ( Simandl says don't), it doesn't involve using your ring finger below the neck joint... does it? Most people's hands are just too small to reach a semi tone with every finger. Rabath is useful for some things and worth adopting at times at least .eg the bass line of boogie stop shuffle which is easy on a 34" scale electric but a workout on a 46" scale dB ( unless you have massive hands)! Pivots make it easy again. Sorry thread drift.
  6. Yes. I take whatever is right for the gig, regardless of what I paid for it.
  7. Answered in PM. I'd rather sell than trade, thanks for the interest
  8. Really could do with getting this and my other sales shifted soon as it looks quite likely I’ll be pushed out of my job in a few weeks due to all the time I’ve had off due to stress from my son’s mental health problems. Ironic as he’s been doing much better lately.

  12. My best bass and most valuable in £`s gets gigged and as it`s a Roadworn 60th aniv Jazz it doesn`t matter if it gets dinged. I keep my eye on it at gigs as it so easy for someone to lift it when your back is turned say during a break. On a similar line, I was talking to a guy in my local the other week who was playing a 6 grand Les Paul custom shop 59 re issue. After doing a soundcheck the 3 guys in the band disappeared out the back for a smoke leaving the Les Paul and a nice Ric just sitting near a door. Not something I would do especially where I come from
  13. There are where we get the timber for short-scale necks, presumably?

You are Dr Who and I claim my £5. ...
  15. If you really want to curse them, substitute “Les Paul” for “bass” above. Do it properly
  16. Or are large enough to need a seat of their own. I suspect OP may be thinking “bonsai” as a) he has limited luggage space b) can only carry so much luggage c) needs to consider whether they’d shed needles or soil over his in-luggage crème egg stash
  17. Big shows…yup. although I did play a pub in Chorley with it… depends on my mood…but it’s there to be played. I have “lesser” basses I worry about more.
  18. We're Going To Ibiza - VengaBoys
  19. I lived backing on to Branston Water Park from 2022 to 2020. My daughter was born in the QE Hospital in Burton, but we lived in Tamworth in those days.
  20. Are you guys putting your basses on stands, or leaning them up against something during a gig? My basses live in Mono M80 Vertigo gig bags unless they are being played. I'm more likely to damage a bass at home than on a gig.
  21. If you've never played a modern Japanese BB and are interested, try it. It's a steal at this price.
  22. I've been chasing transparency for sometime, favouring a rack set up paired with a Matrix power stage. Fantastic setup. Right now I'm using a Tech 21 XB Driver until GSS Baby Sumo. It's plenty loud.
  23. I'm Going To Spain - Steve Bent
  24. now then, I didn’t say I’d be singing the lyrics 😘 😁
