  8. Not at all. Vantage VP-710B since the early 80's I have bought, and still have, other basses: 5 & 6 strings, fretless, acoustic, ukulele and doublebass. But i always go back to my Vantages.
  9. How long have you been playing, have you worked out any bad habits now?
  10. BOSS VE20 VOCAL PERFORMER in good condition. Fully working pedal. This thing is mental. Too much info to list, but click the link for the manual https://www.boss.info/au/support/by_product/ve-20/owners_manuals/4231ce9a-c57e-4dab-b770-b42304e6e51f/ Free postage to mainland UK.
  11. Love the colour and mods
  12. Being aware that collection is a pain in the buttockials, i'm happy to pay 25 quid to any buyer to help with fuel
  13. Sounds like a BBC3 drama.
  14. Sold to a fine gentleman indeed! Cheers @christopherbassmay!
  15. Here comes the pedal board section of the thread 🤣
  16. TC Spark does not have to be full on 'drive', it can do very subtle (I have one). I had the MXR and Ampeg Scrambler and I couldn't quite dial them back far enough... on the least setting they were 'almost' too much. As you are on a budget, the TC works BUT you could also look at a Boss MS60B; it has lots of options in one pedal. You could have the aforementioned compressor and/or a bit of OD and/or an amp sim to warm up your signal + you get a tuner and all the other effects for free. All to be had used for about £60.
  17. Appreciate the explanation. I was thinking of getting a compressor anyway. The cali compressor is pricey lol. There are two versions v1 and v2. Would both versions achieve the same thing? down the rabbit hole to look for different warm compressors and demos.

  19. … some comps can distort in a nice way when pushed hard eg the V1 Origin Effects Cali 76 Compact Bass can distort when pushed in a way that some people like (and also add some compression), the Markbass Compressore is a valve based compressor, and when the gain on that is maxed it does lead to some nice light overdrive (with compression again lol). So you wouldn’t need a comp if you went down that route.
  20. Oh I would have never have thought. I’m new to pedals. I’ll have to look at the recommended. how does a warm compressor differ in effect compared to a low gain overdrive?
  21. All Stood Still - Ultravox
  22. £350? Open to swaps if needed: Boss Katana 210 Ashdown abm IV 600w. Laney Digbeth rig.
  23. Sandberg made some two string basses and so did Waterstone. I'm surprised nobody put a 2-string Chris Ballew Gitbassinto production.
  24. So sorry Tim, somehow missed this way back when you posted as haven’t been very active on here. Sure you’ve found one by now but it’s still for sale and I’m back on here, so just DM if you’re still keen. Cheers!
  25. are you trying to use logic? are you new to bands?
  26. I assume this Stagg EUB has been sold, but if not please, I would be interested. Tim
  27. Thanks, excellent advice all round.
