I have a stingray clone that I’m attached to, but don’t play much as I mainly play 5 string now. I’m attached as partner bought it for me. yours is more valuable; I invite you to consider those people on here who sold 60s and 70s basses for peanuts but now wish they had not done so. correlate much? you can always sell it if you get desperate for cash but if not, rationalise it as an investment and just keep it ticking over maintenance-wise.

I thought this would be a mash-up between Rodeo and Watersports. Before I actually read the thread, I left a deposit. Can I get it back please?

I have a beaten up '89 Stingray 2EQ that I've had for 30 years and have gigged with when I was younger, but I've not really played much in the decades since. I got back inot bass over the past 5 years but I just have no interest in 4-string basses any more so it sits in a case... but... I am finding it it really hard to consider selling. It's the only consistent instrument I've had in my life. I've also been told by other people who have played it what a special instrument it is and how I'd be an idiot if I ever got rid of it, but it's sitting in a case doing nothing which seems awful to me. I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Black hardware + black pickguard + vibrant colour body + maple board = megawin, as far as I'm concerned 👍

They replied saying it will be delivered today despite the ‘processing’ status and absence of shipping notification. Watch this space.

Ryan's sound was so intertwined with what you expect from a Warwick, he was all over the mix in the best way imaginable so this was kinda inevitable when he switched to a more polite sounding bass. Him leaving Warwick is probably a half decent advert for them tbh, get a Thumb or sound like your nan.

LIMELIGHT 200th Special Edition Swamp Ash Precision Bass
paddybass posted a topic in Basses For Sale
Reluctant sale of this amazing one-off Limelight P Bass from Mark Morgan Richards. Special commemorative 200th instrument serial no: 00300 with lightweight 8.3lbs Swamp Ash body and Gotoh Resolite GBR640 reverse tuners. Absolutely beautifully smooth neck and low action with plenty of growl and lightly aged all over making it very comfortable to play. Those who know Marks work will testify to the quality. I got this from Mark himself in 2024 when it had not even been advertised on his Classic & Cool Guitars website along with a Limelight J Bass I fell in love with but it has been stored in the case ever since. It should be being used but I have other go-to Basses and it's just gathering dust. I'm including a nice quality tweed hard case in the sale. Try out and collection from Poole, Dorset or could arrange a meet up or possible delivery as I travel around quite a bit. Thanks for looking.-

It's ok, people sometimes ask a question in a deliberately provocative way in order to fire a heated discussion (i.e. fishing for comments, trolling by comparison with fishing using a lure).

StingRayBoy42 started following Flats on a fretted Jazz bass.

As others have said, put whatever strings you want on whatever Bass you want. Different strings (sort of) suit different types of music but as someone above said, rules are there to be broken - if it sounds good, it is good. I have TI flats on my Jazz and they sound great. I think I'll play it tonight, actually!

That Sounds excellent , All our test runs went really well , I settled on the pick bass preset rather than finger preset , a bit of EQ magic , on the Gp-5 to push my own mids Then Going straight to our rather modest PA with zero on stage amp ... i've donated my markbass CMD121P Combo to act as a powered Woofer going into its return ... and it sounds really rather tidy. This is all in aid of a Gig with no provided PA support , in a small pub , I also had a go with the guitarists fancy new quad cortex ... lots of good options the Simulated SVT and it sounded VERY similar to the Rig Capture i'd uploaded onto the GP5 .. All in all im confident enough to gig it.

ŴThe two reasons seem to be: The singer is inexperienced. The guitarist is difficult to get along with. My view would be to say that you were hoping the band would be gigging by now and thought that following the open night there are a number of things you need to address before you're ready to gig. Maybe have a 'nice' list. From there, you can either judge the mood or suggest they find a bass player who is more aligned with their timeline and experience. I don't know. It's difficult to say that without sounding pompous. 🤣

No. just a question really. PS I'm not sure what a bass troll is !!

Yes, I now have a Northwest Guitars w/b/w 3-ply guard on my black Sonic P (changed for the same reasons as the OP). It's top quality and a perfect fit 👍

Craig Robinson started following Dimarzio relentless P pickups (Sheehan sig)

For sale, Dimarzios latest incarnation of Billy Sheehans signature p bass pickups. Chrome, radiused covers to follow the radius of the fretboard and rounded off edges for comfort. Hot as you'd expect from a pickup designed for Billy. Claimed to be perfect for using with distortion by Dimarzio, I don't so couldn't comment. I have used these for a number of differing gigs and they are by no means a one trick pony. Postage included to UK addresses. Cheers

Yeh, I know what you are thinking, a pigeon? where is the other one. Well, at that moment he was out in the hallways, but now he is back on his clock stand where he belongs. I still don't have a camera, but in general it looks like this: -

This has been on the site a few times, not least last month when I tore it all apart to install new racks, cabling and new toys, so it's a bit neater than usual. Too small to let it get messy though.
