  2. Wow! This is madness. £400 for this Japanese monster?!
  3. Lost In Love - Air Supply
  4. No problem, just dropped you a personal message 👍 Cheers Freddie
  5. This may help. Or maybe raise a chuckle. http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/04/alot-is-better-than-you-at-everything.html
  6. Well I prefered the construction of the L2, more of a resin with real density, I liked my streamline but just couldn’t bond with the shape, the S2000 was nice but I just couldn’t get the action I wanted, and having no truss rod there was nowhere to go in terms of adjustment (unless it went back to Rod involving heat treatment) it sounds cool all this no truss rod business but I don’t think they all stayed perfectly stable, and……i unashamedly cashed in on ‘Rob’s not making anymore’ hysteria🤣
  7. I'm glad there are others with email addresses chosen in a moment of madness and still going decades later...
  8. I think it’s probably 5+ However, I could be wrong
  9. As a fellow Terror 500 user, have you tried rolling the bass back a bit and maybe upping the treble?
  10. I was wondering about that. I've ordered some hex core D'addarios. But still, I must have been lucky with the other four strings.
  11. You are not alone in the way you thought it was correctly pronounced. 😳 Mark
  12. Today
  13. What is the bridge spacing and scale length?
  14. I can't think why it took me so long to realise! Clearly the turnip-head in this instance is south of the border.
  15. Bought a nice Trace Elf amp from Mick and all was good! Top BCer!
  16. I can attest this is a solid bass - I bought mine 20ish years ago at university having never played bass before. It sat in a cupboard for about 15/16 years and I then joined a band, learned bass on this exact model with bubinga top. Well balanced not too weighty, nice action. I have replaced a couple of the tuning pegs through necessity but I have even gigged with it. Go for it I say! And yeah no mods needed. Bear in mind is fully active (i.e. it has no passive mode) so needs the 9v to work at all, but it is just one battery and they last a good while as long as you don't leave a cable plugged in the jack.
  17. I actually put that to Ned Steinberger himself, and he said that for all kinds of reasons he will never be involved in reissuing that bass, and most likely no one else would either. It's a shame because if someone were to make a proper reissue of the original L2 then they could have my money, for sure. I'd be very interested to know how you thought the Streamline (and S2) compare to the Steinberger.
  18. You have indeed stumbled upon the correct pronunciation. It is simply "neep" as in swede/turnip/rutabaga and "heid" as in head. A silly person, basically. I came up with it as my internet nom de guerre/plume because I was wanting a Hotmail address (in the pre Microsoft days, so around 1996?) with no numbers in it and I wondered what no American would think of.
  19. I guess it depends on ‘U’ or ‘C’ P bass etc etc, I found the status to be shallow front to back as does my current bass (goodfellow) but as you say quite rightly all opinions eh? 🤷‍♂️
  20. had one of those too!🤦 gotta say though if someone were to reproduce the L2 now I reckon it would fly off the shelves!
  21. the neck feels like a Precision but the nut spacing feels like a Jazz imo
  22. Man, you're getting rid of some great amps!
  23. Pair of Aguilar DB112 bass cabs in Chocolate Thunder (1x12 inch speaker with tweeter, rated 300w RMS at 8ohms). Incredible, meaty little cabs. They've been my main backline for over a decade but I've recently switched up my rig and these bad beauties need to go. They do show some signs of use (rusty metal corners, some tolex scratches, scuffs, little rips etc) but are functionally excellent. Some of the best cabs I've had the pleasure of using. £700 for the pair or £400 each. £500 for the pair or £300 each Collection from Pembrokeshire, can meet halfway or can deliver in-person for petrol money.

  24. This amazing emulation of the acoustic control corporation 360 preamplifier with variamp and built in fuzz is up for grabs. Hand made by the renowned JC Maillet and commissioned and imported by myself at great cost. I have used the 360+ for studio recordings, gigs, rehearsals and at home, it has never dissapointed. The preamp sounds fantastic and the fuzz section is the best I have used. I have owned this pedal for a good few years from new, as can be seen it's in pristine condition. Specially sourced UK power supply also included. Will happily run from other sources with the right leads (I used it with a trex chameleon). Fully detailed printed instruction manual also included. Only available as I have more preamplifiers than I can use. Try out/collection always welcome, or UK insured postage for £15.00
