Yeah - sorry - but given the OP expanded to include IEM I thought the thread was fair game!

Warwick setup questions

You might well get away with an appropriate width round file and simply broaden what you have. -
How are you finding it? I had the original 5 knob version, and it's hands down my second favourite sounding reverb on bass (and way more versatile than my first pick - Neunaber Wet, which just sounds epic). I was really tempted by this newer version, but the cost just felt a bit too prohibitive.

Hi Rob, I know you’re a long way from me or you would be more than welcome to borrow mine, my experience is they really are a wonderful sounding amp especially with a P bass with flats and very versatile , mine is silent which is great for home use so no hum or noise, volume wise I’ve never had it up full but I’ve had it just over half way and it’s fairly loud , that’s with a Barefaced big baby ll, but I don’t know how much more it would give, Ive got a feeling that it might not be loud enough for you, I know there’s a few here that do use them in their band they might be able to advise more on the volume , maybe @Beer of the Bass, @Beedster -
Warwick setup questions

Oookay..,this could be more trouble ( and costly ) than it’s worth. 🤔 I forgot about the saddles of course ( which are Warwick’s own ) 🤦♂️ I just tried the experiment ( in a lazy way for now ) , of moving the strings ‘down’ a slot each( E string on A slot and so on ) . Surprisingly the E string seems fine on the A slot ! The A string on the D slot seems more problematic and kept sliding out and didn’t want to be there . On the pic , my finger was holding it on . As for the Warwick website , the multi country tab is a pita as uk not listed. i managed to find the English site eventually, but haven’t pressed any buy it now buttons as if I need a new saddle or 2 which might put me off of doing it at all.. -

What are your irrational prejudices? I have some bonkers ones...

Sub Zero (29) litters his speech with it. I remember it being in vogue in the 70s, along with flares. I'd rather have the flares. -

Selling an EBS Billy Sheehan Ultimate Drive Very versatile from low gain all the way to high gain with an on board compressor, phase switch and frequency range selector for the tone. It has 2 FX loops that can be used to add other FX to either the clean or the dirty signal. You'll need the right cable for that. EBS sell them too. There are some internal trim pots for the compressor and the chip is socket mounted so that can be swapped for other chips too. Instruction manual: https://ebssweden.com/wp-content/uploads/manual_bsu1.pdf Only selling because really my drive tastes have changed and (so sorry) I'm playing a lot more guitar at the moment! It's in great condition with some Dual Lock tape in place of the feet. £115 including UK tracked delivery.

I do like the tone controls, simple layout and overall retro look. £999 is good for a Mesa bass amp. My Walkabout combo cost me about £1500 quid in 2008, and the Big Block 750 I really wanted at the time was £1800 which is more expensive than any of the current heads in 2025. This is very much the Mesa amp I would be looking at if I was going to get another one, unless they release a class D Big Block...

You might even be able to use the existing JAN screws as it looks like you have a bit of clearance on them. You could easily check by seeing if the D string would fit into the G string slot and so on.
-
When did the 'one rack unit' requirement come in..? The original brief was for a pedal, no..? A mini-mixer comes close to that, and it just as simple to set up and use, I think.

It has, but Mesa are a different breed and these are all built in the USA (not that it is a big deal really as any country can make a great amp). For 999, I think that is reasonable. I expected more. I am interested in this.

Warwick setup questions
warwickhunt replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in Repairs and Technical
All the slots that those grub screws go into are the same size. re. a tech - you will need to set the bass up for the new tension, tuning, intonation but the one thing you've not considered is that you'll need a B string bridge saddle or the saddle you have widening BUT I'm aware that some B string thicknesses won't seat in the string ball end anchor but that might be solely down to your string choice. -

Quite, my first thought was a normal mixer but it doesn't really work in the requirement for one rack unit. Or if it does then it doesn't leave much room for your fingers at least.

Warwick setup questions
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in Repairs and Technical
Okay … so , the remaining questions I have ; that means I purchase that , but would the E- A-D strings be a tight fit in the slots ? I assume that I purchase a 5 string set . plus, does that mean that in theory , I shouldn’t have to take thie bass to a tech after all ?
